Okay, I've noticed a few people are considering to draw risque artwork of Shan/Sanra. I've been talking with Shan regarding this and we've decided to add a little rule as precaution. If someone has an entry with a sexual theme or containing any nudity, send a private message to us about it and we'll consider whether or not it's proper to have it accepted into the contest (of course, we'll have to ask the mods as well).

I doubt we'll see any artwork which goes beyond the line of being tasteful, but I'm writing this just in case. It would be bad if someone submitted an entry which was against the forum rules and thus getting the thread locked.

Now then, we’re okay with sexy artwork being submitted, but it may need to be reviewed before being allowed as an entry.

We can just say that she's ripped from beating up so many silly wammos. Honestly though, I think its because I made the shoulders a bit too wide, but it would have been too much of a pain to change and I didn't think that it made all that much of a difference.

Good Job. The lighting in the picture is really nice. Looks like Sanra has just spotted a wammo

Nice. The lighting is done very well. All around good picture.

I hate light sources... I tend to ban them from my work.

one query, do physical drawings gain some form of advantage over digital paintings, and on that notedoes one form of digital painting have precidence over another? e.g. realistic>cartoon?

Neither has any advantage. All in all it comes down to how good the entries look... realistic/cartoon or traditional/digital drawing doesn't matter, anything goes.

Been working on mine for the past hour or so.

My fiance pointed this thread out to me, and it's got me thinking of doing commissions one day, seeing as I've found out I'm pretty decent at Guild Wars art.

I'm not planning on doing any until I have a few samples under my belt though. I mean, unless someone asked. But then, that's a maybe.

But if anyone's interested... I have a DA account. Not very full, and not the greatest... but it's some stuff.

ok i've been working on my artwork for quite a long time now, but i dont want to reveal the finished work just yet, so i decided to give a little hint as to what it might looks like

so you'll have to wait for the final copy (its 1300x1250px)

I do all my art in photoshop, can I enter this with a photomanipulation of them? (I can show you some of my stuff if you don't think its up to snuff to do computer art).

Sure, photo manipulations are ok. Please note. That simply, for example pasting Shan or Sanra's faces pasted onto a body would probably put you into the honorable mentions catagory(tho there are some nice prizes there also). Stunning well done photo manips may well not.

i wont do a copy and past thing, don't worry. I'm gonna do some cool lighting effects and put them in a cool environment (space-mesmer-ish if you catch my drift). I'm not a huge fan of cheesy copy and paste stuff.

Kinda makes me mad that no one comments on anything I do though. I mean, I joined DA for some constructive crit, y'know? All I get is "That's good." Ughh.. so annoying.

And I think the point of asp's little picture -was- to keep it a secret.

Well deviantart is a big community, they won't look at all things that pass by.. If the ppl there had to criticize everything they saw, they'd be busy all day.

Deviantart or any gallery is not the place for critiques. If you want critique you'll have to join a forum of some sort like epilogue.net oder conceptart.org. I recommend epilogue as the users are generally very nice and take their time to help you out. Conceptart is a fine place, too, but beware that some people may try to help, but come off a little odd or rude - doesn't change the fact that those crits are very helpful. You just have to sort out what you like and what you don't like.

or post guildwarsrelated work here! (There are a few people on this forum willing to criticize and a few more ingame if you ask them to).

Thanks guys, that's really helpful.

I had an old account that got noticed quite a bit, but once I got my new one, I've had all of five people say a word to me.

So I was just getting a little tired of the whole DA thing.

I might try those other sites, thanks again.

And once I get into working on Guild Wars stuff, I plan on posting some of it here.

ahh nice nice, im a bit into photo editing myself so maybe you might want some tips on improving on your design? should define the parchment edges with soft, lower opacity eraser, and also use a few different parchment styles to copy because its clear when the same one is being used for everything. I think if you fixed those things it would make a big difference

good luck mate! glad to see more competitors

Well, I suppose it was only a matter of time before Sanra was declared wanted by authorities, she has much of a habit of murdering wammos

Nice picture but unfortunately I can't really recognize Sanra. Do you have a bigger version of the picture?
