Hi, I would love to comment on every peice. But I think it would show some degree of bias if I mentioned one and another and used different terms.
Trust me, every peice is totally appreciated and every peice makes choosing and ranking harder. Every time I see an update on this thread, it's stop what i'm doing and I look at this in excitement.
Also, give it time. People tend to post on these threads, later on in (my) day.
I am trying to be as fair as I possibly can regarding judging of peices, as thats only right and respectful to the thought and time people have put in.

If everyone is done turning everything I say against me, I'll stay. If not, I'm pulling out of the contest, because I can't stand having people give me a hard time for my opinions. The judging will be done by myself and Sanra, no one else gets a vote for the main prizes, and we're certaintly not mad at anyone. We love to see people's feedback on the other artists work, but it's our decision and we're grown up and sensible enough not to let it sway us.
The community vote we mentioned is for an addiitional bonus prize, not for the main ones. So to sum up.All these

The special prize for the winner is having Shan and Sanra ingame as his/her slaves for one ingame session. We'll do whatever mission, quest or anything the winner wants to do. This one has some great detail to it. Notice the background is the skill icon for 'Tease'. I watched her create it (Skye is my fiancee) and it's amazing how much time these things take. She spent well over 35 hours on this thing. Sanra  link to hi-res EDIT: oh yeah just to throw my two cents in on the whole 3D thing-- 3D takes time and talent to make just as 2D art does. There are different things to take into consideration when comparing a 2D and 3D piece, but it takes talent and hard work as well as knowledge of composition/color/anatomy/etc. to constuct a good picture in either medium  .

KriaKorturi After discovering this quiet place in Maguuma Jungle, Shan returns, this time with Sanra. They bring along their mini-pet Siege Turtle, and together they pass the time making music.

I know... it looks pitifully thin at that angle, plus it's in some shadows which makes it worse.
 It's actually much thicker, here's a closeup:I didn't want to change the pose just to make the instrument more visible, so I left it as is. Thanks, though.

Since mesmers have recieved more than their fair share of Nerfs it makes sense the only creature Shan would be afraid of is Nerf 'Bats'. The one thing that makes her skills less effective than they should be.

Look up nerf on wikipedia. A "nerf bat" would be something like a baseball bat made out of rubber foam. Completely useless to actually play the game, but also competely safe. No risk of hurting anybody with it, no matter how hard you swing. Something that is "nerfed" becomes less effective and "softer".
So much for the origin of the term "nerf". In gaming culture, the "nerf bat" is the metaphorical tool used by gaming companies to apply "nerfs".

Oh, the nerf bat is definitely a monster alright. The most terrying gruesome monster you could ever imagine. Kinda like the rabbit in Holy Grail, you never suspect it's all that dangerous until it actually attacks.
