Actually, there was this one paragon that ripped me to pieces. I think it might have been a P/W though. Anyways he used [skill]Flail[/skill] while he was at range, and snares too. So basically I was one dead guy. May not work on casters though.
Since you're going W/P, it might be a great or okay idea to try the flail and snare idea.

flail on a paragon isn't the best choice, but i see a few using it and they're fine. flail+shield stance T.T

i find it quite amusing that some people honestly believe W/P's are useless, talk about narrow minded
i commonly use a W/P in ab (ok not exactly hard pvp but still) and it tears the general populis to pieces.
Barbed spear, maiming strike (cripple when bleed), flail, stunning strike. lions comfort for a heal and enraging charge to immediately charge flail.
ur opponent cannot get away due to cripple and if they remove everything its quick recharge anyway, a warrior with 12 spear mastery and 14/15 strength does plenty damage and the chances are u will outlast whatever random opponent ur fighting

First, sorry for posting in such an old thread...
In the last several GVG matches I watched, the #3-4 team used a spear throwing W/P His name was Godsomething. I see the team he is on announced all the time "A-?????? has just won in the hall of heroes." Can't remember the name of the Guild-starts with an A, I think... The W/P mostly fought around the flag and to kill off NPCs.
EDIT: Thinking again, the team's name may start w a V, but they always say you should go with your first answer when trying to remember something.

i use w/p alot for kicks people aren't expecting it in most cases and it does put out pretty good dps
but i use
barbed spear, soilders spear, wearying spear, flail, enraging charge, for great justice, heal sig, rez
though i may try lions now that it has been buffed.
