My Main Account has over 3537 hours since day one, and my secondary account has over 2199 hours over the last 15 months. Total of over 5736 Hours since GW first came out.
My husband orginally bought me GW CE because he thought I spent too much time on D2XP (Diablo 2, Expansion Lord of Destruction). Later, he commented on our anniversary (when he gave me the CE of Factions he bought me
) when I mentioned the hours I have invested in my main character (see my avatar) that the amount of hours is the same as a full time job for a year.
He also commented that I have spent more time on GW than I have ever spent playing D2XP, PS2, SNES, X-Box, Gamecube, Gameboy, and all other gaming systems I own combined.
Dedicated, not addicted as I have taught my guild members to say!

My main account has 10,791 hours over the past 20 months, and my second account has 3,706 hours over the past 12 months. more then half of all that is just AFK hours, i've practically afk'd my games since i got them.. for no reason. so i have a ton of hours, but i know people with more hours then me.

I think the purpose of this thread was to see if people who have 'invested' a lot of time care about not having the option to carry forward their chars/items/etc, rather than everyone just posting their /age

1400 hours in 13 months. I was feeling bad about this but, after reading this thread I feel better.
BTW to answer the very first post in this topic, I have absolutely no problem starting all over again in GW2. I am sure GW2 is going to rock and I will be able to keep my character names and - if I want - recreate them in the new world. Having said this I will probably start new.
If I end up not liking GW2 then I will always be able to return to GW1 and my characters will still be there.

If you think of 'investment of time' into a game there is seriously something wrong with how you vie games in your life.
Me? I have played 1700 hours over 23months, sometimes I've played lots in 1 week then none in the next. Games are a passtime to me and nothing more
If you want to 'invest' time then I'd suggest getting something to learn for a future useful skill in life. For example I will be investing time into learning about e-commerce as that is a field that i will be looking to expand my sales skills into.
