tried another trapping group today in the uw--9 hours....we got 3 ecto, 1 blue dye, found 2 chests--one gold item merchable ...did clear the chamber, wrathful spirits, the demon slayer...and cleared the smite area (forgot to go back and kill the dryders there, ooops)....and the vale, twin mountain, part of the bone pits (didnt do so well there so we left)...cleared the chaos plains....and then wasnt fast enough to kill all the dreamriders and the wailing lord before the reaper died....but we got an ecto from one of the mesmer guys there--that was pretty good.
netted abou 3plat from it....ok, but could do more in any other place---had fun either way.

Meh nothing too extraodinary. 4 Ecto, about 10 shards or so and some gold items. But I wasn't really trying to farm.

Yeah in terms of going out there and collecting myself then id say its junk in the 3 days i netted like 4 ecto, 3 shards and a black dye along with a bunch of weak yellows,purples and a crapload of whites with various bad dyes and moneys of course. I did manage to buy +65 ectos and +45 shards at a good price.

Now Fissure of Woe is fun, kinda, but UW.... ungh so borring. How in the world can people stand to farm it?? Over and over and over. If I ever see the UW ever again, it will be too soon.

Doing a W/Rt solo in the UW yesterday, in about 10 runs I got 11 ecto, 3 black dyes (I'd never had one drop until yesterday!) and various golds (about 3). I personally thought they'd increased the drops for the weekend. All in all I made over 100k yesterday, so one is a happy bunny. :P

it is misleading indeed,
if you go out with a group of 4 Players, you see lots of good drops (most of them for the 3 others)
but if you go with 3 heroes and you = also 4 players though 1 real and 3 heroes, you dont see what drops for the heroes, thus you think all loot is bad.
maybe all the good drops were assigned to your heroes...
try soloing... might be better.

Tried to farm Smite Crawlers without using Factions skills (why must every UnderWorld build use at least 1 Factions skill -__-), and practised a lot.
Had 1 gold Chaos Axe req 9 drop, but for some reason he didn't pick it up when I clicked on it and died a few seconds after.-___-

Went into UW just to try out the W/Rt built. 2 ecto's, 1 gold item and 15k out of 12 runs. The gold item was not max. I wonder how elite area drop non-max gold items.

I think it is just weird to see 9 districts in ToA, just because it is free to enter UW and FoW. Is paying 1k really that big amount? I often pay for my whole party, usually a guild-team, and whichever realm I go to, I usually get my money back from it. My guess is that this weekend attracked all the broke UW/FoW-virgins, and now they are complaining they got bad drops from a stuff that usually costs money to enter.
Don't go with small teams with heroes or stuff. You either farm it solo/dual or you go in an organized team, being 5-man or even faster: B/P (7-8 man). You can pretty much clear whole FoW in 2 hours time, netting at least 20 shards for the whole group.
Well I did took the time to try various solo builds for UW, but my conclusion is that dual 55/ss with the right person still is the fastest way.

I saw up to 17 districts. I think the reason that a lot of people showed up is the fact that favor didn't matter. Usually America gets favor very very late at night, or really early the next morning. The only time I can stay up that late is on a weekend, so I, for one, can't come play it all the time.

1k can add up for beginners or lesser experienced players failing some runs. If you have it, enjoy but please spare them your leet opinions on gold accumulation.
I tried 8 runs on Saturday morning with no ecto at all. 24h later I get 6 ectos on 3 runs.

I was so gutted when I heard this weekend was announced - being a poor player, I've always been intrigued to try FoW and UW but didn't want to have to pay 1k each time to test out builds to see if I could do it...and then this weekend was announced! Joy! - you'd think...but alas, I'd be away from my computer for all of it... ;_; Oh the woe...

I just want to give a BIG thanks to Anet for this free UW/FOW weekend. I have not played much GW in last couple months because I pretty much have got burned out on the game. This event has renewed my interest in the game (at least for a little while anyway )
Up until this event I have only been in FOW 2-3 times and never been in UW because America rarely has favor when I'm on so it was really cool to be able to go in and play these areas. Not knocking the favor system...just saying it was cool to finally be able to do them (and free too) !
I played FOW 1-2 times and UW about 10 times in various groups which were mostly 3-4 person trapping groups. I tried the speed trap solo and could barely get it down right to kill a few ataxes. Gave up on it after a little while though. I received 1 ecto and 2 shards and the rest was white/blue/purple junk i merchanted. I saw about 5-6 ectos drop for other players this weekend as well and several golds.
One thing I never saw was a UW chest. I saw a number of FOW chest though. Is that normal?

All in all... an awesome event for me... PLUS, I learnt how to use the W/Rt build an wont mind paying 1K next time.

Overall, the event was a nice change of pace as I don't go to FoW or UW often at all (we usually only have favor when I'm asleep). The loot is mediocre at best, and the chests range from nonexistent to empty to worthless in my experience, but still a decent event just to go there. As for loot this weekend, I got one shard, one ecto, a purple 13^50 shadow blade, and a purple 17% while hexed chaos axe that I might give to a hero. I also got a black dye, but that was in pre-searing (better drops lol).

If I want to farm UW, I go solo with my W/Mo, but seeing this many ppl in ToA, I wanted to go with a player team. So, I decided to go with my ritualist.

I didn't have as much time as I hoped for so we got in 2 Alliance FOW - 1 Friends FOW and 1 Guild FOW with heros filling in spots ~ the drops weren't too bad for shards. Golds I got 4 or 5 total and chests the reqs were high. Overall we had fun which was the main thing.
We were hoping to get in a few duo ranger runs in UW but ran out of time. I don't mind paying 1K for those anyways.
We were amuzed by the ruins runing out needed for UW duo and solo builds, and people spamming WTB them everywhere we went.

Out of the short time I got to do the UW this weekend, I went solo and I came out with 7 ectos, about 6 golds (nothing worth noting), and more Smiting Staffs than 'Smite the Smiter' could hold if he had 1000 hands. Overall, I was fairly pleased when put into perspective how much time I spent there. I thought the free UW/FoW acess weekend was one of the better weekend events. I sure hope they do something like that again real soon.

I solo trapped in the UW, clearing out the smites 2.5 times, apart from all the white junk I got 1 Ecto, 2 phantom Keys (for which there were no chests) and 2 gold drops including a perfect req 8 necro offhand from a dying nightmare.
I usually do much better when I pay to go in but at least this weekend gave me a chance to experiment and play around with builds etc.

I didn't get anything good. I got crushed by Aataxes when they lagged me down and killed me from far away. I wish I could had made some efforts in farming UW/FoW while the access was free of charge.

I love this weekend, It gave me a good opportunity to learn the UW... I look forward to retrying my E/ME now that I understand Graspings more.

This happened to me at least 3 times while trying the ele/mes solo build in UW. I would be happily running along and then I would notice my health dropping. "What the heck?", I would say. Then the next millisecond the screen would show me waaaay back, surrounded by monsters and getting owned. Glad the trips in were free.
I got 1 ecto out of like 10 successful trips to the smites. I did get 2 white dyes and 2 blacks.
I can say that regardless of my drops, I did have a good time and was finally pleased to see areas in GW I had never seen before. I hope they have this event again real soon.
