Boss Aura Mystery

Well, recently in an update ANet claimed to have changed all boss auras to this new, glow aura.
Example:
On the other hand, some guys still have the old aura:
At first I thought they changed the aura for humans, since admittedly they look hideous with the old one. A certain undead boss right before the Lich in Hell's has the new aura, further proving this. However, I found an ice golem boss with the new aura, and I feel Charr are equally, if not more human-looking than a golem and retain the old aura.
Thoughts? Anyone figure this out yet?

I've had trouble distinguishing between a few of the bosses. I have mixed up many monks with mesmers and rangers with necros which i have never done before. I dont like the new auras.

The old aura was better - with the new one it's hard to tell whats a boss anymore or even what kind it is.

I can point out a boss much easier now...but I really had no problem beforehand, just used the ctrl key
I also have trouble distinguishing between ranger and necro bosses. When I have them selected and agro'd, thats only when I can see the skills they are using and what exactly they are.

Yeah. The new one, although the update log calls it a glow, it's just a retinting of the model!

I saw a handful of bosses that had the very first type of boss aura last time I played through Prophecies about a month ago. I guess Anet just misses a few.

I like the new auras...
They are more harmonic and make the bosses look more realistic (you dont really think the inside the GW world the "bosses" really glow, right?)

I don't like the new auras. It just looks like someone spilled some dye on them now. I miss the real glows

some of these bosses look really really wierd, it looks like the centaur is like a candy cane or something

on certain enemies the new aura is nearly impossible to see, such as on djinn

This new aura on the bosses is ugly T-T!
Its bland and doesn't stand out that well imo. The old aura was pretty and it actually stood out ^^

The strange thing is, some bosses seem to be missing their aura completely. A few times on Vermin runs Shreader doesn't even have one. Those oddly seem to be the same times he drops his green.

I wonder if Boss "glow paint" is even really necessary in the game?
How about ANet does away with the effect completely? Would this be so terrible.
After all, all Bosses have names, so it's kind of hard to miss them.
If any effect is needed just slap a colored halo over their heads.

I like the new aura. For me it's actually easier to distinguish the bosses from the other mobs. If it's really such a problem just look at the mob's name...
It's definitely not a human thing though, because I saw a naga boss in Factions with it

i think the new aura looks like garbage and didnt like it at first but i'll stay open minded and give myself time to get used to it.
they might have been right on with the vis adjust because imo the old version looks kinda TRON space cadet cartoony and the new one has more of an earthy tone to it. we may just need to get used to it.

I personally don't like the new aura. I think the other auras looked better, and were more distinctive.

I don't even look at the bosses I kill anymore...didn't really notice much of a change despite just capping 3 skills :P

ive seen some bosses on shing jea with the new aura, they knid of look a little odd with the matt aura, but then i guess they looked odd with the glowing thing too.
what i found strangest was when I was in AB and a ranger shrine had 2 kurzick rangers each with a different aura. This also seemed to happen with minions and pets, shambling horrors had the new auras but bone minions had the old one. It looked funny though i dont know whether this was fixed with later updates since I havent noticed it again.

Maybe combine the Aura's. it would help very much in IDing the bosses.

I have to admit, I never liked the "neon striped" glow auras.
From the screen shots, the new auras seem to fit the game better. The old auras looked sloppy, and didn't really match the "feel" of the rest of the game. I actually haven't seen the new aura, so I'll reserve judgement, but how can it be worse?!?
(I've been in pre, working on my Legendary Defender title, and the Charr Bosses there still have their old auras).
On a related note, finally saw a Mallyx Mini last night... was NOT impressed. So, that will help show where I'm coming from).

I was out yesterday and capped about 40 elite skills from bosses and wasn't even aware the auras had changed I think the reason I didn't notice is probably because I knew what kind of boss I was fighting so what aura he had didn't matter, but I like the old auras either way so then you can tell what kind of boss it is right off the bat.
