Yeah, I'm sure that they managed to do better after that gaffe.

GS: In terms of content, how does Eye of the North measure up against the previous chapters? Is it about the same size as its predecessors in terms of both the size of the world and the number of quests and adventures?

BM: That is actually a difficult question to answer, as expectations of value are subjective. Added to that, expansions in general vary greatly in terms of both value and quality. With that said, Guild Wars has delivered games above and beyond what people have expected in many ways, and I see Eye of the North continuing that trend. Will it surpass player's expectations in terms of gameplay and visual aesthetic? Absolutely! It is by far the most gorgeous thing we have done to date. Will it have engaging content that will keep players entertained for countless hours? Absolutely.
HA!

That's pretty speak for "you're not getting that info".

Could have been a typo. Even Ascalons call themselves Ascalons.

He mention the factions, and different ranks for earning faction with them, which reminds me of WoW. IMO though, the more I hear about this, the less I think "World of Guildcraft" and more of GW with a few WoW-esque elements, which sounds better and better. And the Norns can own ice-wyrms? Goodbye wammo, hello nor...umm, normmo? W/E it sounded sweet! But Asurans, though...one of the few reasons I like gnomes is because they blow up in your face! But the Asurans make stuff that works! HERESY! All in all, despite this semi-rant, the future looks brighter!

PS. Ascalons

The interveiw revealed allot, however my ultimate question about the Slyvarians wasn't answered... at all Now I want Gw:EN even more just to see what type of race they are, since the Asurians are the smart undeground race and the Norns are the EPIC WARRIOR HERO(S) every Whammo aspires to be ^^

And they also stated with the monument thing that they're still debating what your character in GW2 will benefit from your GW1 character(s), so can't wait to see how that works, and the Armor idea seems cool, maybe with luck we'll finally get Barbarianish armor for our warriors

Not Rurik, but Adelbern. Cutscene at the end of Nolani Academy:

The Asura are an extremely cute magical race that is being driven above ground by the menace below. Don't let that fool you, though. They are among the smartest races in role-playing game history. Traditional gnomes, goblins, and so on, have nothing on these little guys.
lolwut

I'll admit its possible for the Asura to suprise me, but I doubt it. Infact, I doubt anything can contend with the scientific prowess in Arcanum (industrial revolution + magic/fantasy ftw).

sounded good overall and I hate to moan so early in a games development but "Sunspear and Lightbringer titles were well received." these are the things I hate most about Nightfall, I really hope they don't make us grind x amount of kills just to proceed to the next part of the game.

Eye of the North pretty much equals the final nail in the coffin for the original Guild Wars lore. Of course what bothers me is that looming feeling that A-net is going to make it finality in terms of death. That is of course to our characters; who probably going to sacrifice themselves for the good of all Tyria. However I do not believe the great destroyer is actually the main root of all evil in “Eye of the North.” I bet you there is another shadow that wants to make sure that our characters pass on into the mists they can finish their job.

Quote:
“Eye of the North will have brand-new skills to help round out existing professions as well as some really exciting PVE-only skills. Some of these will be given away via quests. They will not only be superpowerful during combat, but also augment what players are doing outside of combat. A good example is a skill called Light of Deldrimor. It does a wide blast of area-of-effect damage to evil stuff, as well reveal hidden secrets with its magical radiance.”
It was interesting to hear that, since it sound like just an advance version of the lightbringer gaze skill. A small added effect to that skill. I have to say some of us loved the Lightbringer skills, while other loathed them for its grind feature. Since every character had to go through the same process in getting them.

Unless it's a destroyer.

Looking at the northern part of Ascalon, I'd say the charr probably blew up a large chunk of their own homeland with the searing. Do you really want to go there ?

The sunspear title wasn't too bad as it was reasonably easy to achieve if you remembered to pick up all shrine blessings, and doesn't really provide that much benefit. Lightbringer on the other hand provides a very noticeable benefit if you grind it. Though if ANET provides a very hard mission that quickly raises it then I won't have a problem.

I really like all the new information, however I wonder what "secrets" will be found with the Light of Deldrimor. Will it be items, or secrets passages like the hidden city of Ahdashim (Not sure about the spelling, sorry).

Just a minor note before going :

Subtle hint? It is a two, almost three year gap and that quote further goes on saying they will continue to support GuildWars as long as players are playing it

Yeah sorry bout that I am french, but I'm horrible at spelling, thats why I failed it once and barely past in High school . Its not that I dont know, its that I'm horrible at it Plus when I worte that, it was pass 1 am, so I was not thinking right.

On peut tu metre cela derriere nous et pense au futur! Avec toutes ces nouvelle, il ne faut pas s'inquite pour quelque erreur de francais.

P.S: yes I'm missing a bunch of accent and there probably a bunch of error in there, but I'm rusty AND horrible at spelling
