How it works:
Basic: All the mobs in the area
Not required but added if found: hidden foes like Wurms and Mandragor. Find them and the title cap gets increased (was quite obvious as I saw my progress go back)

The number of monsters you need to kill for the title, dynamically change if for example a quest involve more monsters, etc., I tested one area with two undone quests where was needed to kill mobs, and the total count was near 500; I failed to clean the area and when retried with both quest done, the total count was like 400. So making "a list" about this is completely impossible!

I love the idea that if you kill more of a certain species, THEN kill a boss, you get extra exp. It can help manage DP. Does anyone know for sure if this works in non-bounty places? I noticed I got about 108 exp for killing a Tengu boss with a team of 5 npcs. It seems that even with Hardmode on, this is a lot.

From the couple trips I've made, I think you can get it only killing currently visible enemies, but the moment you make a group popup or turn a neutral pet red they become required. So if you can avoid popup groups and don't annoy neutral pets, you can finish quicker with a smaller number of kills, but the reward will also be a bit smaller than if you kill everything that moves.

Dragons Gullet is a nightmare! Got to about 70 kills... and the rest were just hydras ( i guess about 40+-)... gave up right there. Next time i better bring protective spirit!

Scoundrels rise is pretty easy - has to be one of the smallest areas - around 75 if I recall correctly.

If youre a Mesmer then just take a generic Domination build using Backfire and Empathy, grab Energy Burn, Overload and Wastrel's Demise for extra damage, then get some enregy management. Im using mantra of recall and auspicious incantation with arcane echo. Spam empathy on anything, and shutdown the healers.
The damage is insane, and you can just take a Ranger hero to tank for you with burning arrow or barrage, simply because they can withstand most damage from martial weapons, and elemental damage is halved against there armour.
There are eneimes that use deep freeze in spike, and without interupts or killing them before theyve casted, a whole party can be wiped really quickly.
Play for fun, not for farming. You get lots of money just by playing. (Im up 15k from 4 areas so far).

I was doing Sulfurous Wastes yesterday and couldn't kill last group with necro boss at north-west corner, it's just impossible, they do too much damage and my whole party gets whiped in a few sec... Had about 235 kills then.. If someone wants to do it whisper me

i got to 270 in sulpherous wastes. i finally killed that necro boss that really annoyed me.
but then....i failed to vanquish the area as i didnt have any adreniline break down the bridge

It's a huge pain in the ass to do, but that's one way if you've already killed everything.

Ow, Vanquishing sounds like a hassle. Too bad they couldn't have made the number of foes needed for area completion a set number, so at least you'd know what to expect.

Oh, just to help you out, on GuildWiki they are tabulating the number of foes vanquished in each area to help give people an idea of the range of enemies.

Old Ascalon, 263. I killed all but one capturable pet, and I'm pretty sure I uncovered every Devourer pop-up.
The last enemies I killed were some Gargoyles; is it true that you DON'T need to kill every pop-up unless you trigger it? Because if so, then that bodes mighty well for when I have to do the Pockmark Flats and Eastern Frontier.

Tbh i think its all down to bodyblocking. In Normal mode before when i needed to cap the bosses elite. I was fighting a mob in front of it (the necro boss, NW Sulfurous)... the last enemy Devona lured the boss group. I noticed it and targetted that mob, Devona charged and bodyblocked the ENTIRE mob on her own on top of each other. Never had an easier boss mob to slaughter, they were all stuck on top of each other, degening through Poison/Disease, Death Nova explosions from minions and other spells.
It worked the same in Talmark Wilderness with the minotaurs for me earlier. I'd stand round a corner, lure them, then make Stefan bodyblock the mob, making them easy targets for SS/Reckless.

I've just spent a good 2hours+ killing (what i thought was everything) in Old Ascalon... and couldn't find any more stuff to kill I'll try and vanquish Old Ascalon again later (not soon) and see which spot i missed.. 232 kills (including stalkers and moa birds)

I vanquished Shadow Passage with 14 enemies dead.
But then after getting the reward and area cleared message, as I was running around to map it properly, a group of Jade Brotherhood popped up out of nowhere and ganked all my hench and heroes.
Why do new enemies still appear when it says I've killed every enemy in the area?

It seems to only include enemies that you've seen. So... is this a running theme with underground areas? ie, is Moddok Crevice for example the same.
