What/where to farm after HM update

Yah, after i finished killing all the spirits i picked up the golds to ID them, then dropped them in for the pic.

I dunno if some1 mentioned this but farming dead swords is very easy now in HM. The slaves are same lvl 20 but with better drop rates, i usualy get 1-3 golds every run and atleast 1 dead sword every 3-5 runs.

i'm just farming for gold item to ID for my wisdom title, so i don't bother to pick up the white drops, but here's what i got in about an hour from this spot...
i have farmed a couple more hours since the pic, and i'm up to 3 UW scrolls, 2 elite ranger tomes and 7 regular ranger tomes - only ranger tome drops so far, so those look like their class specific......a guildie took the sin skills from the build and does the same run with his el. - a 250 stack of those spider webs merch for 5k too.

can you 55 necro this area? I have no sin skills on my necro and when I have used them on other characters before it seemed very complicated to me....maybe just because where I was farming or something but seemed to be having to run by lots of enemies which now seem to follow forever and never break..or are you able to kill things in that area without having to bypass other types of monsters?

Oh yeah this was the day of the ecto/rare material drop normally update (Friday?). Since then I haven't done any UW since I spent the weekend farming Sunspear/LB points, this week elite capping that I missed, this weekend afking the rings, and the person I go into UW with normally has been having limited playing time which should return to normal next week.
3 Runs (European Servers): 5 ecto (3 were mine). Req 9 Eternal -5 20% and HP+30, about 5k in selling the rest of the junk (after fees taken).

you have to run past the first group to the left when you enter the area, there's a couple of mes's in there so 55ing most likely wont work..however if you dash, dark escape, and then dash again when it recharges you will be able to break agro 90% of the time - i had someone im in the game who was haveing problems runing past them, and that series of skills helped him.... sometimes a drake spawns, and about 10% of the time that he's there he'll hit you with a knock down and you'll get owned, but i've always gotten past em after the respawn.
if you just get sin as a secondary, i think you only have to buy dark esacape - pretty sure the other three are ones you get from the start.

What about killing that first group with hero's and hench then flagging away, golds, tomes, greens should still drop right so the only thing you would share would be the gold pieces right?

Ok.... so... things I need to do:
Complete Nightfall with my Assassin to unlock Hard Mode for it.
Kit out my Monk, get her to the Shiverpeaks for a few elite captures, and complete Factions with her.
Get my level 4 Ritualist toked up, out of Shing Jea, cap a few skills and then drive her through Nightfall at least until the Varesh mission.
Death-level my warrior in Pre-Searing faster. If I ever want to get her into the rest of GW then I need to get LDoA with her first....
At this rate it is gonna be forever before I can farm anything but dye... ¬_¬
Incidentally... Can an assassin-primary farm anywhere in Hard Mode?

yeah that would work - probly won't be as fast as just runing past and takeing out the boss mob, but should work.

it's not as fast at killing the mob as the necro is, but it's still pretty quick, a run is still around 4-5 min. without shadows refuge for healing up from the hex's of the first group, you do die a little more frequently too. basicly stay on meteor shower and rodgorts untill everyone but fastfoot is dead, then spam immolate till he drops.

Better question, can a ranger, warrior, or mesmer farm anywhere in hard mode?
All the people who make builds are focused on SS Necro/55 monk builds (I started a SS Necro since I can tell where these builds are going).

Just make a SS necro or a 55 monk. We're never getting any help, and it may be faster than tinkering around with places to HM farm on your other chars.

Gotcha... I'll use my spellcasting armour then (my old Exotic in orange) with my Shadowy Mask of Superior Shadow Arts.
Signet of Lost Souls is kinda.... soul reaping though. Can't imagine it'll help much for an Assassin primary. I'll try nevertheless...
And are you sure this would be easier than using elementalist spells like Savannah Heat or Sandstorm?

How are all you VwK (Vengeful Was Khankei *Elite Item Spell*) Rits doing in hard mode? I'd like to know what places you farm as Rt primary using VwK, the rares that drop, and frequency of them/other golds...Thanks!

She has turned out to be my second most experienced character, so it shouldn't be too difficult (rather surprising, since initially I put her on hold at level 7 for absolutely ages because I didn't like Post-Searing Ascalon, yet for some reason I picked her up again and didn't stop until she had 15k Luxon armour)...
Given a bit of extra thought, I'd be better just getting my Necro primary through Nightfall after I've unlocked Hard Mode for that campaign with my Assassin.

Haven't seen any good warrior farms for HM...is solo warrior dead? I am using my 55 necro and my 130 derv but cannot find anything that is at my skill level to farm with my warrior (except a couple of places that are way easier with a 55 necro
