Definitely Ranger. At one point I had five of them. Only four now.
The combo of ranged attacks with a bow and a companion at my side seemed like the best thing ever.

Mesmer the 2nd highest?
Where are all those people hiding?
Usually when I see another mesmer I run over and chat with them.
Where are you all?!

My favorite is the Monk followed by Warrior. Though my first toon was a Warrior, I don't play it as much as my Monk.

I think I am one of the few who actually cares for the Devrish, more then anything else. I guess no one has gotten use to its style yet. To me it represents the monk and warrior combined with, a smidge of its own flavor that I really love. Everything else feels way too bland, in what you can do and how you can accomplish that goal. It also represents something else to me in one of the ideas I had for my writings, which were the chaotic demons called the “Ralems.”

Scythes are always fun to use anyways as well, never liked all the other tasteless weapons like bows, swords, hammers, axes, and wands. I have read too much into the whole the “Sword or Blade of blank,” it’s so repetitive in fantasy worlds (not to mention annoying too).

The changing into the avatar of the gods is more interesting then changing into a bear, wolf, tiger, and even a vampire. Shape shifting is always and interesting aspect in sense, but I think A-net got it better with the whole avatar thing.

I have been a mesmer fan for quite some time, but I voted for necromancer due to its godlike versatility.

I care about my dervish too, and that's the reason I prefer dervish as well. They are essentially a combination of a monk and a warrior, and that alone, allows them to be very flexible in their builds.

Monks are so incredibly powerful. A good monk turns a good team into a great team. I love playing my monk because making a sweet save is really satisfying, as is wallowing in compliments from grateful teammates. The monk is the goalie.

That said, from an aesthetic point of view I like ritualists the best - they have a wierd, creepy grace in their character design that I find really appealing. I also enjoy how versatile and powerful they are to play - like a mesmer but less subtle.

Necromancer, hands down. Despite the crappy SR nerf, it's still my favorite class. It's also the only class on the list that has it's name shortened. Odd...

Anyway, that would be followed by Warrior, then Ranger, and finally Elementalist. Everything else trails even further behind, though I do still like the other classes, too. In fact, there's only one class I don't like (to play), a Monk. That's because I don't like devoting myself to only assisting others, the Smiting line doesn't interest me at all, and I absolutely hate the 55 invinci-gimp.

I think this result indicates that mesmer players are more likely than most to go on forums and vote in polls, rather than reflect the actual number of mesmer players out there

And yes, I do play mesmer in PvE and have done so since E34E. Kinda thankless job when I did the ascension quests the first time - "You play...uh...mes? Whatever. GLF Echo nuker!", hehe.

I'm a range guy... out of all my charcs... i got 0, Zero, Nil, Nein, Ling, Kosong, meele charc.

Fav class -> Rit, Ranger, Mesmer, Para in this order...

Rit, i feel is the most misunderstood class of all... some say they sux in dmg dishing... sux at healing... sux at armor look....

But those who play Rit knows better

Definitely Ranger. At range or in melee, they have the skills and armor to be very versatile.

I got a love/hate thing going with monks. Currently I love playing it again, mainly for the fact that I'm a pretty good healer. I start to hate it when I play it for long periods and don't do actual damage.

I hope GWEN restores some fun to my Paragon. For awhile there, it was the best of both worlds, dishing out damage and aiding the party. Then came the nerfs. Then came the Paragon nerf that no one even talks about... the extra xunlai storage upgrade! Which reduces his usefulness even more!

P.S. It seems all the "cool kids" or "hard core" gamers play primarily core professions. How often do you see a monk with KoaBD compared to a RT with KoaBD?

Please don't flame, this is observations.
perhaps because a lot of people already had 2 titles almost done before titles even existed, before factions was released?

anyways, I think my favorite is paragon. hardly anyone knows what they do it seems, but they are very very good once you learn them.

Ranger for me, altough mesmer warrior and necro come close.
Gotta love being able to pick targets without over-luring and shutting them down with cripple/daze and high damage :P

Ah such a hard decision, because i love most of the classes: Ranger, Ele, Rit, Necro, Paragon, Mesmer.

Although my main char is a Ranger i would have to say my Ele is the one i enjoy playing the most

So Paragon is both the Most Disliked and the Least Best Liked. Ouch.

Well, all that's needed is that someone figures out a solo farm build for them and they'll get plenty more love.

I'm a bit surprised Mesmers come in third. I like playing mesmer, but they do have serious problems with energy management, and don't do nearly as much damage per time as the other core classes do. I'd have thought e.g. Assassins would be more popular than mesmers.

Honestly, how the numbers are right now make sense to me.

Warriors - Like I said in the least favorite thread, people either love them or hate them, and most likely all based on initial experiences. A lot of people choose Warriors as their first class, and they generally discover how much they can rip through PvE, giving them a sense of uber-ness. Those who don't choose Warriors as their first, or, most likely choose a caster, have a tough time through initial PvE, and learn the hard way, watching the "Warrior noobs" run around like they're gods - and usually dieing a lot.

Mesmer - The cool, unique class of GW. They pretty much are the epitome of GW, generally looked up to as a very potent, and yet mysterious class - everything that makes cool cool. They may be looked down on as far as being picked for PvE groups, but they always tend to surprise people, and leave a lasting impression.

Ranger - Probably the most versatile class in the game. People who pick up a ranger, and really play it, tend to consider it within their top tier of characters. If you like to change up your playstyle at all, Ranger is #1. Plus, people get really attached to their pets, and it's just hard to efficently play a pet build without being a ranger primary.

Right now, Eles and Necros are tied. These are the quintessential PvE group dominators. The Ele is a lot more versatile than the Necro, but both can run some pretty fun builds.

Of course not many prefer the "bastard" classes of GW - or rather the non-core classes. There are a lot who like them, but not nearly enough to say they "love" them (even less who would say they're a favorite). A lot of that is to do with what people become attached to - you're always going to love the originals. Not to mention, none of the 4 extra classes have really had enough time to be fully worked out and truly adored, and they possibly never will. Ahh well.

And that's my obervations...

Oh yeah - while I'm not a great fan of Paragons myself, I just thought I'd mention this to those of you who don't like the "spear-chucking backline warrior" aspect of Paragons: here's a build for a Paragon fire-tank.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10142972

I've tried it out, and, well, this is the build I'm using for General Morgahn now. It works really well.
