Ten New Heroes, You Say?

Hmm, so it seems we're going to get an Asura (Asurian? Sounds like El-Aurian.) hero and a Norn hero in Eye of the North. I suspect there will also be a Charr hero, it's only logical.

But what about these mysterious Sylvari? Will there be a Sylvarian hero joining our adventuring parties? I'm most likely not the only one who wants to know. Yes? No? Maybe? Quite Possibly?

If I get an Asurian hero, I don't care if he can fly, he's going to quickly find his ugly frog/monkey-thing face slammed into a concrete wall until his skull busts, then thrown into the nearest river to be washed out to sea and the hungry sharks that reside there. Hideous little freaks.

I look forward to my Charr hero.

Yeesh... and here I thought the Charr were far uglier than the Asura. Doesn't make me hate them, though.

Personally, i'd like to have a Mursaat Hero.

According to the magazine articles, Sylvari don't "appear in the world" until a few years before the events in GW 2, so we probably won't be seeing them in GW:EotN yet.

Oh come on. The Charr are basically Minotaurs. How can you not like them?

Charr look like they'll put up a good fight. That's a good thing for a hero. Asura on the other hand, look like something you win at the carnival for throwing balls at a stack of tins. Not a quality I look for in my heroes.

Well exactly! I do like them! I'm just saying that something hideously ugly can be loved, too.

I will use humans, because they win.

I do hope we aren't required to use certain hero races..

By the way, what's now with that Sylvari? I thought they'll be in GW:EN like the Asura, Charr and Norn! But I even didn't find any pictures about it! So was it just a rumor or will be there really some?

They look like plants. Dryads might be a better term for it?

I imagine the new heros professions will be 1 of each type, so we have 2 of each type available and 3 on the more common classes (Nec, Mo, War, Ranger) Although i had heard the possibility of 15 new heros which personally i think would be better since then Anet could provide us with a nice round figure of 3 of each profession (which is the max u can use) but i guess 10 is better than none

I wouldnt be suprised if most or all of the new heros were non human heroes

And somewhere in all the interview/articles, it was mentioned that we would see the birth of the Sylvari race in GW:EN (as opposed to discovering an existing race). So I don't think they would be an available hero in the expansion.

But just a reminder, 10 new heroes equals 10 additional sets of insigna, runes and weapons. There goes my bank account again.

I'm not sure exactly how it happened, but wasn't Razah "born" towards the end of NF? A Sylvari could be born and recruited in a similar fashion.

I agree, kind of. I have a theory Gwen will be a hero, but not included in the 10 GW:EN heroes. We're missing a second mesmer hero right? I think she'll be an unlockable hero but require proph and GW:EN to unlock her. Just a thought.

I believe that I have read that the Hero mechanic will be extended to anybody with GW:EN - and not just those who have Nightfall + GW:EN.

I really want Gwen to be a Mesmer Hero. And I really want to pwn up some Charr. I'll use my Asura hero to do it, too, so long as I can rock those jerks who messed up my Ascalon.
