Uninstall is the only option. There is nothing else to do. I pop on here occasionally when I'm waiting for Football Manager to load.

GW is dead for me. It is the same for you, you just need to admit it to yourself.

i'm bored as well, i was waiting for some sort of improvements for my fav mesmer (she used to be my main char) after so many nerfs, but we didnt get any pve-only mesmers skills or w/e in HM, and i'm not into getting titles just for the sake of showing off... the only thing that left is DoA, but every team in DoA asks for the holy trinity - i dont like playing war, so my choices are limited to ele or monk... the only necro build i can run there is bip, i'm so happy when i get to run ss, its ridiculous

on the bright side i'm glad i got my monk and ele and even poor badly nerfed necro to play - some ppl are playing rangers, rit or asn most of the time, theres no room for them in DoA, how they manage not to die of boredom playing pve is beyong my understanding....

is there any news about Diablo III?

I'm 15 right now and playing basketball on my HS varsity team, taking piano, studying for SAT's..simply you have to put in perspective that GW is a game, not a way of life.

Do not expect revolutionizing miracles from Anet, they don't owe you anything.

Every game gets boring at some point. Don't delude yourself into thinking that WoW won't get boring. They all have life spans. You just go to the next one.

One Thing I wish they had was more armor & items. I love variety.

Honestly just today i REinstalled Diablo 2 and started up an Orb MFing sorc.
GW PvE is boring and always has been. WHy? Its alot less my charactor and more of my char and +7 hencies. I dont even have to do anythign if i dont want. I jsut abuse the AI and roll though HM I didd a Couple of areas in the jade sea for fun with trappers + me as spirit spammer. GW PvP is fun but I can't GvG on weekdays yet because school > everythign else in priorities.
And well, RA has its charms but there's only so much entertainment to be gained from it.

GW and Hard mode are starting to dissapoint, seriously. Needs some changes.

As for hard mode, yeah, it's not as good as I expected. The AI improvements are fairly irrelevant. So what if things now run away if they can't reach you (such as nuking from a bridge) and when you're clumping them while solo-farming?

"Improved skill bars" - yeah, right. So, you gave elites to mobs that didn't have them, made minor tweaks here and there (such as removing frenzy from everything), but the rest aren't really improved. Is skull crack anet's favourite elite, or something?

Hard mode really is hard, but only because everything across the board was buffed DoA-style, not because of supposedly improved AI or bars.

That's not the important question. You've already made it quite clear that Guild Wars stopped being fun for you a very long time ago. The real question is, what's stopping you from moving on? Do you feel a commitment to your guild and the friends you've made? That's something you're going to have to address on your own. I seem to remember you once talking about character development, possibly in the GW2 non-transfer thread. Do you feel that your character represents too much effort to just walk away from? It would be a waste to just leave? Games are a waste. All those numbers and titles represent a waste that already past. Other than that I don't know why you would want to extend a torture.

Consider yourself lucky you're going through this at 17. Don't let yourself get too attached to the next big evening-waster when you're 18 and it could actually ruin your life. Play for fun. When the fun dies, leave.

If you are bored, you're most likely playing too much or playing too much in the same way. Anything can seem boring after a while and certainly anyone can become jaded. The secret is to know that boredom arises from within and not from without.

It's like having 500 channels on TV and nothing to watch...that you want to watch, at any rate.

Boredom is life's little way of saying, "Do something different". It doesn't mean you have to quit something forever or go join the Peace Corps or take up skydiving. Just moderate your activities.

1.Pokemon Diamond is awesome...

2.I think the hard mode AI is much smarter actually. The AoE run away system is very on their side, and they usually link good skills together. But that's just my opinion.

3.I'll be flamed for saying this , why don't you just stop playing Video Games as a hobby. If you are continuously being bored with them, just stop. Dead serious. Maybe that doesn't pertain to you. If not, I suggest the following things:

-Join a different guild if yours is worn out or too boring.
-Try a different class and start in a different campaign.
-Take a long break from MMOs, especially Guild Wars and World of Warcraft.
-Try to play a bunch of good, new games. (Pokemon Diamond, its the best pokemon game yet. Or try something like Gears of War or The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.)
-Take a break from Video Games for a little while, and try other things to occupy your time. Maybe incorporate new things into your life WHILE playing Video Games so you wont be stuck with one thing. Nothing stays un-repetitive if you play it too much.

I have no idea why I haven't seen this one in my hunt for new beta games. Looks very nice, but I had some trouble getting to the right page to add myself to the beta for it. I think** I got to the right page, guess I'll find out soon enough.

I'm also bored with guild wars, which is why i've tried so many new games lately. I'm yet to find the one that grabs me, but this is the list of games I've tried either in free trial or beta forms in the last month or so.

You can do these things

1) Farm Light bringer points...or sunspear points and go up in rank title

2) Ab...Where did all the ab rage go?

3) FoW - Trapper.

4) Make A new character and go for legendary defender of ascalon. Hard as heck title

5) Make a guild and recruit members, and throw guild parties. Funn...

6) Join a guild and host guild parties...

7) Vote for guru on the top 200 so they can get number 1

8) Go farm in a wurm in the desolation

9) Make a new character and beat every mission in a game

10) Go for treasure hunter/Wisdom/other title tracks.

Just put the game down until the expansion comes out. GW got really boring after beating Eloina. They really should have put out a new campaign. HM is not enough to keep me logging into GW from now till December. The last 5 months I've barely played GW is just too repeatative. Nothing new to see or do here. I'll be back for GW: EN, but making a title for vanquisher and redoing the same old missions in HM is not a substitute for new content. Don't force yourself to play just hang it up for a while.

I also kinda feel the same way the OP does. One of my mates quit GW two days ago. He uninstalled, we shed a tear for his lost characters.. /sigh

1: LB and SS point farming is such a grind
2: AB is fun..if you can get in. It becomes a drag
3: Trapping? No thank you, I choose life. The novelty of "set trap-->pull foe--> smoke and lights-->dead foe" has worn off (for me in any case)
4: Got to lvl10, haven't started Death leveling.. could see some serious grinding coming, and left pre pretty fast
5: Making a guild is fun, choosing the name is fun, designing your cape is fun, recruiting sucks
6: It's over-rated
7: This sounds like one of those Mad Magazine type things to do "piss off your tax collector by paying your taxes in loose change"
8: zzzZZZzz Press "C" Press "Spacebar" rince and repeat
9: Have 9 slots full, and all of my characters have beat every mission in every campaign..
10: I thought I might try advancing my lucky title this weekend... Very painfull.. I was getting disconnected like every 20min- and hour. Made about 5k in points in a little less then 2 days. I just couldn't stay connected in Shing Jea for some reason. Anyway, so I decide to vanquish the first area as you get out of Shing Jea. Things are going great, got 2 golds, opened 2 chests, get disconnected, reconnect.. realize my ping is crazy for some reason 100k ms +. Log off. I haven't played GW since, and have no desire to any time soon

I enjoy GW but find myself bored and disappointed with hard mode as well. I was hoping for levels 20-25 but with much more intelligent team builds and bars. Something any class can join a party to play against. Instead, we received enemies with overdone ability and level increases. I have always disliked such method of MMOs to make things "harder." I dislike being killed just because something is far overpowered. I much prefer getting killed because my strategy is flawed. I know I could pvp but that is something I really dislike generally.

Overall, hard mode refreshed the game only a little for me. It is something to do at least to pass some time every so often.

I can't help but laugh out loud at threads like this. I've gotten bored many times since I started playing GW. What do I do? I don't search hard for things to do in GW, the game I'm bored with, I stop playing and do something else.

And if you feel that nothing is gonna change your mind yet still commited to playing GW to see any ultimate changes, here are my words to you: Don't expect any and I mean ANY updates to fulfill your dreams. Many of the updates have the players shrugging and saying "that's it?", and that IS it.

If you feel bored, then do something else. Like many are saying, play Pokemon. Fun and cool for every age "even the cool kids at my school beat up people who dis Pokemon." I stick to my Fire Red but only because I haven't enough money for a DS, let alone a Diamond or Pearl.

I have been feeling bored with this game myself, simply because I let it consume my life. Let go while you can, and Godspeed.

Tbh i don't know where the hell boredom threads come from ?!! they were accepted when we were just had GW:P for 1 year and we hadn't much things to do after we finish it, but now...we have tons of things to do.

I completely understand - I used to love doing pve and thought HM would add a new dimension to it and make it challenging. But instead it did neither. It is boring everything just has a permanet RaO and Glyph of Elemental power...gfg. Improved bars, meh not so much. And the AI - yikes. Finding actual people to do missions in HM is a waste. There is either no one there or whoever is doing it is utterly terrible. I got to 10/25 for Gaurdian of Tyria and it will probably stay that way. Playing with heroes just isnt fun - unless it is heroway in HA.

About all I find fun now is pvp - I practically live in HA ID1 or guest for a few friends' gvgs. I am still waiting for those ATs to come - going on 5 months late now......

Also, if anyone needs a monk for some HM missions in tyria hit me up - only requirement is the party must be people!

I maintain that the 4-man areas are harder than the 6 or 8 man areas. There are less options to utilise different professions and so professions need to be carefully mixed. I have also discovered that one of the best ways of surviving Hard Mode 4-man areas is to essentially work with a team of 3. the 4th player just casts Life Barrier and Life Bond on all the other 3 players and stays near the edge of the radar (flagging Tahlkora was a pain, but worth it). Negating ~75% of the damage is sooo nice.

Yes, they gave sub-lvl-20 enemies elites...you seem to forget the fact that they move faster, they focus fire on one individual a lot more than normal mode, and that individual is, 95% of the time, the monk. They also move out of AoE EVEN faster than they used to. I was trying out my idea of using Tahlkora with Life Barrier and Life Bond in Panjiang Peninsula. Even with her flagged well out of my aggro bubble the kappas still ran past me and headed over to her. To keep her out of harms way I needed to have her flagged on the edge of the radar. I want whatever monk-detection-system the monsters have now. I detract. My point is they did a lot more than just boose the attributes...they are cleverer...granted, not to the point of actually being human, but the enemy AI is still cleverer (which is more than can be said for the henchmen).

ArenaNet seem to say a lot of things. The faster people start to adopt a "I'll believe it when I see it" policy the better.

In my opinion, and I've noticed this a lot during Hard Mode, my first thought of how to complete something lies with an Elementalist. You say your Necro can kill things faster than any other profession you've tried. My thinking is that our favourite professions, the one we have worked on the most, is the one we naturally consider when dreaming up ways of killing something fast. My first thought on how to complete most Canthan Hard Mode missions was to load up on Elementalists, and coordinate their builds. Perhaps it's because I don't like them as much, but I find melee professions distinctly useless in hard mode.

We all have different agendas. My aim on my ele is to collect titles. I've decided People Know Me is now way too common. Time to work on I'm Very Important. I've developped an obsession with Vanquisher of Cantha...and I must finish it. If you're bored of the game maybe you should go do something else and come back to it when you're bored of another game.

As I got bored with GW, I played EVE for several months... right after the release of SF and the green farming craze... returned later.

Bored people simply move on. Attention RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs start a thread about it. It would also healthy not expect people to kiss your feet when you sacrifice yourself to help them in a mission. It is also pretty arrogant.

Really, "I am bored with GW, I need help" - my advice is to do something else and come back later when you are in the mood for GW again.

Another proof on why our lifestandard is so goddamn high that people are clueless on what to do with themselves.

They have an innate speed buff of +50%(nevermind the +50% attack speed, the half casting time and the half skill recharging time).

They are not smarter, they are just overpowered.

PvE, has gotten boring for, I only do to get elite skills for characters. Now that I got all the armors I like, I can play less and spend all the time I do play to PvP, which is alot more interesting to me.

When I'm bored with GW, I go play WoW, or some other game. Why search for reasons to play a game, especially one where you aren't penalized at all for not playing for a while?

QTF'dness. Overpoweredness provides a challenge, sure. No fun at all, though.

I was really hoping for a "balanced" challenge, but I guess that was asking for too much?

Nonetheless, I've only been playing PvP in FA for a bit, and testing out RA some more. I'm definantly taking a break from GW for the moment.

But to me I always find something to do in GW. Most importantly buying loads of keys ( ussually 100 at a time )

For some reason its like gambling, you never know what you're gonna get. I still do FOW and UW in hopes of a perfect something to pop out of one of those chests.

But lately it seems I get better drops form monsters than the chests, but the luck of the draw is always there.

Other than that I do FA alot since it pays out big in the Baltazar Faction department. I notice I care less about we win when I'm just there to collect faction for unlocking more stuff.

I'd do hero battles instead for it, but its more fun with leechers, morons who open the gate, and not having to control your heroes.

Other than that Pokemon Diamond/Pearl is da bomb. Only had it for one day and already got 6 hours on it.

How is it overpowered to move out of an AoE? I don't know about you, but when I find myself stood in a Temple Guardian's breath of fire I just move to the side...does that make me Overpowered? Granted some things have just been done to make monsters tougher to kill...but what? you were expecting an ANet employee to be playing AS the monster to give it a better sense of "realism" without being "overpowered"?

Personally I think it's a nice balance. Harder than Normal...and it's not DoA.

1. delete all your characters

2. take a couple of aspirin

3. get a good night's rest

4. wake up and play guild wars again

I never said that they moving out of an AoE is overpowered. Basically, what I was stating, is that they move out of them FASTER simply because they run a 50% faster than what they should, not because they're "smarter" (which they aren't).

Well, more or less what I stated above applies to this, except in this case it would be you, and not the monsters. If you had a +50% speed movemente innate buff then yes, you could run out of Breath of Fire's range a lot faster simply because of that buff. That's being overpowered.

And well, regarding the fact that you just ignored the specific part of my post where I mentioned some of the buffs, I'll just quote and bold it for you.

You're 17. I'm sure you can find something to do instead of post stupid threads about how bored you are of a 2-year-old game.

That's actually a little ironic to call it a balance, even though I know what you're referring to. Balance in PvE is something I was hoping for in Hard Mode, and it isn't what I got. Just more unfun overpoweredness that will again call for the Holy Trinity.

The only way hard mode has gotten "harder" is that now I have to use different builds. No skill, no challenge, it's just a game of "pick the right build BOOM YOU WINNN". Not fun at all. It's actually killed my interest in Guild Wars a bit.

How much can you expect from AI, really? If you want to fight monsters with optimized skill bars and some bit of intelligence, try GvG.

Zinger, you play the game a lot harder and smarter than the majority of players, surely you aren't suprised to be burned out after 2 years, right?

In between all of the negative comments there is some good advice so basically i'll just repeat - find another hobby. GW will still be here when you want to come back again. At 17, this may be your first (or one of) experience with burnout. Get used to it. Surround yourself with LOTS of things you like to do to keep you busy. Understand before you even begin what you should expect to get out of it. Enjoy yourself. Move on when you aren't satisfied anymore.

There's not much more to it than that. You have a long long way to go. No sense being unhappy with a game, is there? =)
