More Storage Space
horohoro08
ok.. this definitely needs more storage spaces.. WAY MORE. when i go "magic finding", i get lots of stuff, and many are useful to myself, and i usually sell the rest. normally i put the ID kit and salvage kits in storage so i can carry more items in missions. thats 2 spaces gone in storage, and once i come back from mission, i stock up storage with all the useful items. now i go do another mission. same thing as first one, except when i come back, storage has like 2 spaces available for the items i got from "magic finding". so we need more storage space
AlloyDragon
Agreed, we need more vault space, especially since it is shared across all characters. Don't mind if there's a cost associated with getting more space either.

Carry your ID kit and salvage kit with yoiu on missions, you'll actually notice the difference. I was in the same boat as you for a while until someone told me to carry them with me. When you refine dropped salvage gear, you open up a spot, because the resulting materials stack. If you get little cheapo items that sell for no more than 5 gold, just salvage them off too. The ID kit allows you to know exactly what it is you have there, so you can delegate spaces to rare items that you wish to sell later on to their own bag, and other items you wish to use to their own bag. I currently have a 10-slot bag with 8 weapons, 4 of which are customized to me, the other 4 are being sold. I keep 2 expert salvage kits and an ID kit with me, and I never really get into that 3rd bag unless I'm doing a long mission/series of quests.
Lunarbunny
I like that there isn't too much. Prevents me from being a pack-rat. I always try to carry an ID and salvage kit with me so that I can salvage crap items and stack them. I also use my bags and pouch, even though they aren't expanded. I find 35 spaces is plenty, and to reduce clutter I throw raw materials in the bags. If I find rare items, I also throw those in the extra bag so I don't accidentally salvage them.
You should see what happened when I was playing a game with [I think] infinitely expandable storage. It cost about double each time to expand it, but I had about 150 items sitting in it that were doing absolutely nothing. "Oh, maybe when I create a better character." "Oh, maybe when I get to forming a guild."
I say it's good to learn how to...I guess we ought to use this line again: Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.

I just want to be able to put bags into my storage.. ;-; with things in them.

I said this in another thread somewhere. The vault being used by all of your charactors is great so you can transfer items, but at the same time it just isn't big enough for all of the characters to share. I like to keep different types of armor and weapons for different situations, couple that with crafting items, and stuff for use on future chars or for guildmates and there just isn't enough room. I think a good solution would be if each character had their own vault and there was a seperate account based vault that could be accessed by all of the chars.

I'm sure part of that is to prevent Hoarding... And the Detestable marketing of items is part of the seedy underworld of all MMORPGs. its undesirable to have to go begging and pleading for items instead of going and questing for them like everyone else... Makes the game a waste.. if all you do is auction garbage constantly. if I do not use it, I salvage it. not matter what it is... even rare purple items.. MAYBE MAYBE... I'll give it to my guild members if it will help them but I certainly do not go brokering it allover the place to the highest bidder... Retail sales is bad enough in the real world. Most of them deserve to be shot dead in the streets... so doing it in a game is lunacy...
jrog322
yes more storage space is needed...let us upgrade bags even further, and give us a bit more room in our storage account.

talking about upgrading bag space, which area do you get the RUNE to upgrade bags and belt pouches?

Yak's Bend is the first place to find rune of holding.

I think you need to understand that the limit on storage space is not arbitrary and is done with a specific rationale in regards to item availability and lifespan, just as with weapon customization.
Eclair
Bah, looks like I'll just have to make my 3 other characters mules then =/
Rasp
Agreed. More storage space is needed NOW. That is one of the worst parts of this game IMO. If characters have linked storages, what the flip was going through the dev's minds?
IMO, they should have 1 storage for 1 character, and 1 storage for all characters on your account.

3 rows of my vault is materials. Other then that I just give stuff to guildies or salvage as far as it can go so I can stack.

I have 2 characters now and I don't see any difference in the amount of free space from before I created that second character. I don't keep tons of weapons on-hand at a time, so I only need 2-3 extra character slots for them, and as I said before I rarely get into the 3rd bag with drop items, even without salvaging. 50% of late-game drops are gold, as opposed to only 25% in pre-searing and pre-Lion's Arch post-searing. That and you have larger parties that split the spoils. Once you get later on in the game, there seems to be too much storage, at least in my view.
johnnylange
Those in favor of more storage space must be the D2 pack ratz that horded so much stuff you didn't even need, nor were willing to trade off for anything! Now you come into this game, crying like little kids in kindercare, begging for more storage space, so you can continue your sick, twisted, mentally derranged, hording addiction!? How in the world are you running out of space!? Each item, only takes one space, aside from the one's that are stackable. Ha! I hope the GW devolopers catch on real quick to your plan! In fact I'm going to send them a certified letter telling them to reduce the storage space by 5 spaces! Muhaaahahaa! Oooo...doesn't that make you burn inside?!?! Good...

Rasp
Why does anyone care if people horde items? How does it affect you, I'd love to know. I've never played D2, but I've played alot of other MMOs and horde'ing items has never been an issue as far as I'm concerned. So what if Player XX has tons of items in his storage? If he wants to be a pack rat, then that's HIS buisness.
I play 2-3 RP characters, and my storage is slammed full of dyes/materials/weapons/custimizations. My friend's storage is full also. Having to use one of my RP characters as a mule doesn't help either. ( I guess you can call me a 'horder' because I cba wasting my time selling items to others? )

So people don't want others to horde items which they got? Because this makes perfect sense obviously...
Really though, I fill my storage up insanely quick with one character, I have to use others as storage for him. I save Iron, Steel, Leather, Hide, Scales, Silver, Black, and Green Dyes, then a few higher weapons, a couple upgrades, runes, I mean it isn't hard to fill this all up if you aren't restrictive. So either, you can't hold on to items you might use later, or you can't hold on to items in order to sell them without wasting a massive amount of bank space. It is just incredibly easy to fill without holding on to anything for selling. With another character I need glittering dust, cloth, bones, featers, whatever, if you have 3 characters then you'll probably require all of them, and rolls of parchment, linen, silk, so on, with their upgrade, weapon, and rune types. And don't tell me to hold on to some of this, I already have 15 slots for kits, excess runes, and weapon sets.
Stupid to have such a hatred against more space for storage.

I guaruntee that simply preventing players from "pack-ratting" is not the devs rationale behind limiting storage space.
Cybrosys
I want more storage space, there's no reason not to, make us fork up 50g extra for a cpl of more slots.

Varuna in Nolani Academy sells runes of holding. Cost 500 gold.
As does:
Riley @ Piken Square
Spencer @ Frontier Gate
Rolf @ The Great Northern Wall
Serina @ Serenity Temple
Hamish @ Ruins of Sumia
Gram @ Fort Ranik
Vencel @ Sardelac Sanitarium
*Edited to add more locations
Dawgg
What gets me is that each char pays 50 Gold for access to the same 20 slot "bank" space.

if you think about it, you have your main backpack which hold like what 20 i think. then you get a belt pouch +5, and 2 bags at +5 each. 20 + 15 = 35; then you can get 2 runes of holding and apply them to each of your bag for 10 more spaces for a total of 45. And that doesn't even count your storage space. Can you really need that much space???
Eclair
Yes =)
johnnylange
The new GW update allows you to double your bag(s) space. You need to purchase a storage rune for 500g...
ManadartheHealer
Many are complaining about storage space. obviously, you cannot have unlimited storage space, so no matter what, eventually you will have to start getting rid of some stuff. If we had double or triple the storage space, these same people might (notice might ) still be complaining.
Solution: Quit keeping everything. Everything I don't sell I use the salvage kit on (unless I am using it
), and then sell the materials if I have to. I haven't run out of space yet (although I filled all backpack, etc. space once, but storage vault was still empty. But I have excuses: Long Quest)

I don't think we should have a lot more storage space but I would like to see the vault 1-2 rows wider/longer. As it is I cannot fit all dyes/crafting materials into the vault, which is something I don't see as hording or why keeping these items would be any problem. Just to make space I've traded some dye for colors I already had just so it'd stack. And, of course, I never know when I might later need such-and-such crafting material so I like to keep a decent amount of each.
TEFFalcon
If u r really that desperate, create extra charchters, and use them for long term storage. I do not see why anyone would do that though

lol that sounds good..
or like pages of storage space..
and i got a question.. does the guild hall have storage things??

No. This is the only extra storage I would like to see. A guild hall community storage, so your guild members could store crafting materials and weapons for other members characters. Sometimes you just can't be on-line at the same time, especialy when you have members from all over the world.

You are able to get the rune of holding at the frontier gate.....I found that before the bag from...oh...what's his face...ask what other services he has and he can sell you a bag, then the merchant had a rune of holding for 400$ or so....
Corwin_Andros
My G/F and I, and our guild to some extend, spread the holding of crafting materials among us. It seems like a fair amount of space up until you start getting runes and weapon upgrades. That's when space disappears fast.
It gets a tad aggravating when I have to empty a quater of my vault.. put it into my warriors bags just so that I can pass a bow, wand, or rune, or whatnot to my other characters. It's like a bizzarre dance on your account.. Shuffle your things in the vault... Log out Char A.. Log in Char B.. Shuffle stuff in the vault.. Log out Char B.. Log in Char C.. repeat until you pass out..
Either increase the bag limits a bit more so each character type chan hold a good chunk of his classes runes and things or increase the vault size. or both.
Not to excess, but it would be nice not to have to do the shuffle among all my chaaracters or have to go oh wait.. my G/F has the Leather Squares.. Have to wait for her to come on to get that new piece of armor.

When your storage space is limited, you are forced to have frequent 'fire sales' to clear room for more important things. You even (gasp!) might give things you aren't using away, as once happened in the pre-ebay MMO's.
Runes loading you down? Stop salvaging runes you don't need. Or better yet, yank that ranger rune off a bow and *give it to a ranger*. Stunning concept, I know. Trade him for the elementalist widget he's (most likely) got cluttering up HIS locker.
Keeping the locker space limited keeps the items liquid and moving. Expanding locker space leaves to stagnant items that could be of use to someone out there sitting and collecting dust in storage instead.
In short, yes, I believe they're attempting to avoid the hoarding economies you see in other games.
Kadeton
You seem to be able to buy Runes of Holding from Piken Square now.
