I'm a poor struggling Warrior trying to work my way through Prophecies. I like using skills so I thought a nice set of Gladiator's armor would be good. I hacked and slashed my way through many a Charr to get the money and materials to make myself a good set. Not as good as those people say can be found at Droknar's Forge, but good enough for me, I'm stilll trying to get around in the Crystal Desert.
So the other morning I woke up and strode out to stretch my (very considerable) muscles putting down some monsters. They cut me down like a suckling babe. When I got back up and cleared my head, I realised the armor I had worked so hard for and paid so much for (to me at least, I'm not a big earner) was now no better than the armor I could have gotten by trading shells and bloody animal parts to those corner street peddlers! Where were all my bonuses? STOLEN!!! Ach, I am unmanned!!
A nice (rich) soul passing by kindly informed me that if I wished to have those bonuses back, I simply had to buy these Radiant rocks from that sketchy man in the trenchcoat. How much? 1.8k per piece!!! I nearly dropped my axe together with my machismo!
So now I hack my way along, dying a lot more, dreaming of my old glories. Perhaps one day I will save enough to be able to afford to restore my old virility. Perhaps the powers that be will even give them back to me, as spuriously and as nonchalently as they took them away.
Until then, I am just a sad sad Warrior.

Agreed with netniwk. Ah well, you're only missing out on 6 energy. It ain't all that bad. Try something cheaper. You're not going to be completely useless now, especially if you're not even wearing max armor or are anywhere near level 20. Trust me, that's a much bigger hindrance on your power than 6 energy.

yea, how would having less armor make you magicly take more damage?
haveing less armor isnt much of a game breaker in the low level game areas. but really if you were having that much trouble I dont think the +7 energy would save you.

I have to recraft most of the headgears for my 2 oldest character since i use collectors (It is much cheaper to get collectors in the early days of Prophecies). Not only did they lose their bonus, they are also not inscrible so i can't just add the missing insignia.
(1k gold + 1k mat + 2k radiant insignia) x 2 char x 5~6 headgear = 40~50k

It is truly a sad reflection on the cynical times we live in that a manly man expressing his manly troubles is met with doubt and claims that he exaggerates. Of course, I forgive them because they are right.
Still, there is no denying that my performance, given my preferred techniques, has suffered following the recent changes in the stars. However there is naught to do but to forge on ahead, fighting back manly tears, and face death with the brave acceptance of a condemned man (who knows he will shortly be resurrected).

Still, there is no denying that my performance, given my preferred techniques, has suffered following the recent changes in the stars. You're saying that your previously bought armor lost its mods? Or that your newly crafted armor had no mods? Failed to check before buying or better yet read the update notes? And unless you're casting meteor left, right and center, bonetti's should be fine dunno what you're doing. Hell just stick to using adrenaline, leave casting to....casters.

They did it on all on max armor to stop people buying cheap armor and salvaging the insignias off it for a profit.. vlever IMO, but I think they should at least have left your chars armor in tact and only effected the armor still in the merchants hands...

... Both my sets of 55 armour, for my monk and necro... have both been nixed. They will cost considerably more than the original armour investment alone to fix back up again.... and it is NOT even remotely appreciated.... Not least because I barely have enough money left to even do such a thing.... considering where the price of the radiant insignias is going.

Why the sweet mother of fvck did A-Net have to go and change all the armour? The old system was just fine! FINE! It was the weapons that needed fixing.... but OOOoohh no.... Radiant Insignias and all other Insignias should have a one single price, they shouldn't vary depending on the market, because they will never go down, since people have Heroes to feed (which is why providing +energy to my heroes cost me a fortune)

Your problem has absolutely nothing to do with the armor and everything to do with your build.

it sucks that you'll need to spend 1.3 more gold per armor piece inorder to get the armor you want, but them is the break, one day you'll look back on that 1.5k armor piece that you worked so hard on and go GOD i was such a noob back then

But even worse, THEY CAN'T EVEN BE UPGRADED.
Consider that monks often switch between 4 different headgear types. That's 4 infusion quests, 4 dyes, 4 runes that need to be replaced. ABSOLUTELY NOT HAPPENING.
The solution is so simple - revert EXISTING collector headgear to their previous inherent stats.

I liked this update, I can finally get my 15k Ascalon helm for axe, I'm even considering getting some 15k proph armor now.
Besides, radiant insignias drop ingame, just fight some mobs and you'll get them eventually

Seriously, if your performance problems continue, I'd be willing to help you out, so to speak. Contact me via private message and I'll see what I've got laying around that you could use. My heroes keep taking all of the good items, but I can get one or two back from them whilst they're sleeping.

But, seriously... You don't need those sparkly armour bonuses anyway. I finished Factions with my Warrior in basic Canthan Armour, my mesmer never bothered to get anything but desert-collector's and she finished both Prophecies and Nightfall wearing it.
It's no fun that something got taken from you, but the reasons why this had to be have been repeated over and over by now.

I only just started the farming stuff recently.... and it was to fund my normal gaming, which alone just couldn't fund itself. I was only just recently starting to drag myself out of poverty.... and now I've had to go and spend 8k (I was lucky it wasn't more) re-fixing insignias on what was originally about 1k's worth of al15 energy armour. I'm going to have to do the same to my Necro too... but not until I've refarmed the cash I lost fixing my monk's armour (and since I don't farm the underworld and don't sell to players as a rule of thumb, this whole deal is going to take me a LONG while).
You forget... not everyone is rich. It is one thing to not have the armour and realise you'd need to spend more if you wanted it. But it is another entirely when it has already been bought and then is taken away without any sort of compensation.
It is basically as though A-Net stepped into my account and ripped away 20k ... and as stated, I'm not a rich guy.
Plus some of my guildies have commented that it has done something to heroes too... which I'm very curious about. I'm about to check now.
