sorry about that one of my mates needed me and i didn't get to bed till very late so there was no hope of me being able to get up at 4am to start the party

however we have a whole week now, i was thinking that perhaps we can make it a bit earlier? i know me and some other Aussies would love to join in but can't due to time difference. if we make it about 12:00 GMT lunch time it makes it about 10pm for us still late, but not 4am

(i am pretty sure that timing is mostly right let me know if i am wrong, i did fail maths )

is this ok for people?

6pm GMT is 4am (gogo Tidus' maths) Aust EST the next day, so a party at 6pm GMT on Sunday is a party at 4am Monday morning for us, which obviously is yuk party time for me and Tidus. Midnight is doable (2pm GMT) but any later is going to hurt the next day at work. It would be great to come along because it'd be great to meet a couple more of you guys, Nero was really nice to work with and I've been chatting a bit with Tidus on the side once I realised that there was another Aussie in the comp.

For the meetup, hmm how about Saturday or Sunday at 2pm GMT? That'd be like midnight'ish in Australia (but we're all nerds so it doesn't matter?), afternoon in Europe and ~7 to 9am in the States?

I can't do early mornings unless its REEEEAAAAL early morns(4am the latest/earliest). But don't bothe rwith me too much, as I've only mad elike one and I was late at that. It might be easier jsut to alternate times though, focussing on hooking up two regions per party(Euros and US; Euros and Aust; Aust and US, etc). Dunno jsut an idea. Anyhow, here were my alternate shots for last assignment:

My photographer friend like this composition a great deal. The sword ended up a sliver in the image which was unfortuate though...

The other favorite of my friend. I liked it, but there was a little after effect form a skill animation and not enough soldiers to be a commander, at least I thought so...

Didn't completely like how my troup was staged in this shot, but the sky was really attracting my eye(i couldn't really replicate it no matter how hard I tried).

Ok, I am off to my storage agent to get some weapons, wish me luck!

Love Djaron's blind archery... William S Borroughs eat your heart out (if you don't get it read/watch 'The Naked Lunch').

Saturday night/Sunday morning is no good for me this week as I'm going to a party in Newcastle (east coast of Australia not England), but like Seamus says it's going to be nigh impossible to please everyone. Just set a date and time and those who can make it will and I guess everyone else misses out.

Heh, well thank you for inviting me. I won't try and quiz people, I just loved hanging out with some of you who made it to the TNTM parties.

I just hope you guys dont act differently around me, I promise how you act at these parties won't reflect anything. They are just parties, go wild =P!

Anyway, if we do decided 2pm GMT on Sunday, I probably will be there for 15mins. I do have work that day 45mins after the party starts, so hopefully I'm fortunate to catch some of you.

If I dont see you, I hope you guys have fun and good luck in the competition!

I'm gonna go lie down now.

Yay, party! I may not be able to make it though, since next weekend is the midsummer eve weekend here, which means partypartyparty in real life too. I probably won't be at home on Saturday at least, but I can try hijacking my boyfriend's computer for this use.

So yeah, don't mind me. I'll come if I can.

Well, better late than never I guess - was out of town from tuesday on, so I missed all these lovely posts (and I'm gathering a party as well?) Anyway, love all the shots - you guys are kickin my ass!

Here are my two rejects that almost got sent in - I fail at decision making I guess

one of these times I'll get it right I suppose.

I woulda done one with deadbodies, but they disappear too fast, and it just made the shot look rather lackluster - to me a vanquisher is killing things, not lording over dead bodies.

So yeah, don't mind me. I'll come if I can. I second the above! I bet Noa just kind of forgot about this little fact. It's midsummernight's eve in Finland this weekend and we usually do some partying during the weekend. This being the case I can't guarantee that either myself or Noa will be home for the meeting and if we are I'm not sure we'd be sober byt he time. XD

Then again the tmw party would be a good excuse to get home, so I'm pretty sure I'm going to attend, at least for a while.

Hmm and so this wouldn't become just a chatroom, haev sum..

Just.... agh. XD I so cracked up at Djarom. He always does the funniest of things. <3 Your necro is hawt too, Noanoa.

Flawed Perfectien, I quite like your outtakes. The first one has a lot of drama and interesting colours, but the big blue boss kind of overshadows your own character. Like the djinn in the other submission, the boss draws too much attention away from your character.
The second one is my favourite I think. It looks like you're clashing shields with that charr, battling over who's the master of the land. Very nice!

Here are some out-takes from last weeks assignment:

Mucking around with poses... I thought this one was more dynamic than the one I ended up using, but I couldn't get a nice shot with it in the Domain of Pain. I decided to go with the shot I did because it had the best overall feel.

Playing with the Illusionary Weaponry animation with the idea being that illusions are the weaponry for mesmers. The animation looked great with the tormented shield (when it was shining right). This shot was in the Depths of Madness, it has better light quality than the Domain of Pain, but the colours weren't working for me like they were in Pain.

Similar to the shot above, I really liked this pose but ended up going with Willcrusher instead. This is, imo, a great shot but really shows how hard the light was to work with in the Domain of Pain.

This is a really interesting shot, but of no value for the assignment.

Just to prove that Assassins aren't the only class that can use two weapons

This was my favorite shot, but I was just way too small. I call it 'TinkerBilly Slay's the Giant' - FYI that is a Cracked Mesa, in case you were wondering

Damn bear xD.

"put your hands above your head and face the wall"

One that I *almost* sent in, but I wasn't too sure about the spirit so >_>. I was kinda surprised that our weapons actually had to show (good thing I didn't submit those tiny Jeweled Daggers xD), I would have cropped my proper submission better.

I felt that the judges wouldn't like that distorted upper body nor the spirit >_> though it looks so much more spectacular compared to my actual submission

I think I might have to do a pat down... you know... just in case he's hiding something under his clothes.

I do love that first shot Noa, it just looks so ethereal and pretty.

I love your last shot Billy! He just looks like he's going to carve away a mountain with toothpicks. I can just hear a "Hiiiiyah!" in the background.

Again appologies for needing to be logged in to see my shots.

some different poses, however, the backgrounds seem to swallow up my wand or focus ....so I didnt use these (wonder what my scores would have been if I had????) Awwww i really feel like you actually didn't choose the right shot now :/ I'm really liking those better... they have more character especially the last one and the hill didn't look so harmonious on your sent shot either imo because it wasn't completely covering your picture like in those here.
the pose is good though really. I think the biggest problem really was the scenery on the one you sent ... the hill was bugging me the most. Really liking the 3rd ( the angle there really ads to the action feeling) and last one here much better
( weapons are even more visible close shot makes you much more dominant and the scenery is better too and still simple)

Ohhh and Szei you should have sent the first pic too imo XD ! it looks really good.

@cosyfiep

The posture in the 213a picture ist very good. A more striking background and it would be a very good picture.

I love both competitions, but the guys rock!!

Are you all really guys playing guy characters? It is kind of hard to believe that guys actually have some sense of aesthetics o.O!!

Hmm they might be right but here lemme give you some advice you might wanna use or not of course ;p

Remember while art is truly something technical (same goes for modeling)and analising your picture is also important it's still allot more about emotions and romance ;D. So don't overanalise too much like you would do on a science subject It's much more instinctive.

ratios and perspective are just excuses for lack of artistry. Its a nice shot, but lack of character/personality/energy. Nothing feels like its moving. You can do much better Cosy.

thank god for impressionism

Personally I don't believe there is any difference in the sense of aesthetics between males and females. There are only differences between individuals. This is an age old topic tho.

The only 'artistic' field I can think of that is definatelly male dominant atm is the game and 3D industry. But the lads better prepare for some changes there!
