IGN Article - Guild Wars: Eye of the North Dungeon Crawl

Well, they actually said
Where blood is shed, wealth is stolen. There are 18 unique multilevel dungeons that make up the Depths, each populated with its own monsters, environmental hazards and traps, and phat loot. Only the brave dare to harvest riches from the darkest corners of these caverns, and with good reason.
Maybe they just meant that we're "stealing" loot from the territory of The Destroyer, as his pals have taken over the place to set it up for his arrival. If they do make it so that you lose money or items you've already picked up by dying in a dungeon, that would be the last straw for a lot of players.
By the way, is it just me, or did it look like the graphics engine of the game got some nice texture and lighting upgrades? /drool
I do agree with the OP that the article made me less interested in the game, in the sense that I was really, unquestionably, looking forward to it up until I read that article and now I wonder whether or not I'll like it. Even more worriesome since the article was written by an ANet developer/programmer/whatever guy. It's like how every time they talk about GW2 I wonder more and more how they'll make the changes they want to do without making it into a game I'll absolutely hate (Guild Wars: Just Like Warcraft Edition).

There was definitely better lighting in some of the scenes, but don't get too excited. Remember those effects we were meant to get in Nightfall, where, for example, hexes would tinge your screen green? Yeah, they even had screenshots of it in action.

Omg that fits perfectly with my EotN Asura theme tune. That totally is the Asura meeting mall where they plan everything that happens in Tryia -

It's funny how often 'bad memory' translates into 'OMG broken promises'.

"Where blood is shed, wealth is stolen." (maybe just the gold you collect from drops in that "map")
The idea that I had for this is that when in a group you share all the gold between the other players.....now if/when the others die you get their share of gold from the previous drops, not gold they came in with just gold they aquired while in that map.....that way it really isn't that much gold but still could make the other players feel they are at least getting something for having a worthless person who just keeps dieing.
another note about the ressurection dealio, I believe it will be just the same as it is now except that if the NPC your partied with dies you now have to find your own way and that party member is lost until you return to a town.....this could really put a cramp in a party who has lost 1 or 2 npc's out of a party of 8..... could make it interesting

Who uploaded that Dungeon Siege Video and labelled it Eye of the North?
Shanaeri Rynale
I don't think it does mean you lose gold when you die. Otherwise people would just enter missions etc with 0 gold on them. What it could mean is that the amount of gold and drops you get decreases as DP increases..
Clord
They make minor features sound major. Nightfall was advertised how it got traps and puzzles. Reality was that two missions got traps and one mission got one easy puzzle (Nightfall's second mission got zero puzzles).
Theus
By puzzles they mean incredibly RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing simplistic mathematical questions.
No really.
also..I'll wait until they actually fix their first three games before I purchase this.
And as for Traps, chances are it'll be the same retarded traps like that of Dasha Vestibul.
Ohnoes!Teh Fire and Ice Traps they r teh activated what evar will we d-wait lol tey r teh turn off themselves roflcopters mah loller skaters!

I do not think that the krytan armour is skimpy. Nor the Vabbian, Elite sunspear, sunspear, Elite Stoneforged, elite stormforged from the ones you've mentioned. I think you are forgetting between sexy and skanky? After all, models have show more skin than some of these armours you've mentioned.
But I guess you think this is skanky?
dsielschott
this isnt supposed to be a thread about whether the ele armor is skimpy or not......its about GW:EN
and yes I think we all agree that we are all looking forward to the new armors that anet are going to be putting out for all the classes

Really wouldnt think Anet would set it up to be like that, but its the only way the sentence makes any sense to me, unless like others have said, it was written by someone who doesnt play Guild Wars for a reader that never has either - just to be blatantly obvious. Its just why would anyone start over and choose not to resurrect?

Maybe they dont care abut the masters/bonus reward and just wants to get through the mission. With your favorite character(s) you would want masters. On your less favorite that you have just because (s)he is your farming character or something along those lines and you want to get to the end game, just rez and get through the mission to continue the story.

I doubt we'll ever get sexy outfits for the guys, despite how much many of us would like to see that (90% of everyone in my guild for example) but I guess ArenaNet is just too close-minded and/or homophobic.

I have to agree that I don't see the point of arguing that Elementalist female armor isn't, on the whole, incredibly skimpy. Personally, I'm happy to slut my female ele up because I know better than to wear that kind of thing myself, and sometimes I wish I could without being treated like a you-can-probably-guess-what.
As for sexy male armor: male eles could do with better outfits, but male Ranger armor is hot. A lot of attempts at sexy male armor just go awry...like some mesmer armor, or the outfit the white mantle wear with the skirt and the thigh showing and the keyhole in the chest. Ewwwww.

Who knows.

The sentence you quoted states that if your guide NPC dies you can restart the mission to see if you can keep him alive this time (just like in any GW quest/mission), and that you can always resurrect party members, it's just NPCs that are unressurectable (again, just like in normal GW).
Casual players (i.e. those who don't read the online walkthroughs beforehand ) are the ones that might lose an NPC or party member to a trap the first time through, but they can always resurrect their party members or restart to bring back the NPC, is what it's trying to say.
