Ectos - how low they go.

Ectos are at trader for 4.9k right now. It sustained 5.5k for a long time but the 5k barrier has been broken, a record low for the year. Time to find a new investment or ride it out? What would be a good alternative? Perhaps the best anwer will apear after gwen release, but then it could be too late.

When will it go down to 1k?

Have you seen the price of Jade or Amber? Get ready.

Just think about all those people that got FoW when Ecto was 16k. Bet they are kicking themselves right now.

Well i doubt they will rise unless ANet decide to realease a new set of FoW for some proffesions. No new FoW means not as many people buying, too much going in without demand etc, you know what its like.

It's not just that Ectos are increasingly common. Ectos still trade at the same quantity for items. Like a rare weapon skin stays at the 100K+XX Ecto value no matter the price of the Ecto. I think gold is more valuable than it was a few months ago and that's an increasing factor in the price drop of Ecto.

I hope ecto stays this low, or goes lower, It's actually nice for a change to get FoW for cheap after grinding so much for it in the past.

Meh, i should've sold my ectos months ago... its too late now so i might aswell just wait and see. Maybe the price will randomly go up...

It always was and always should be ecto imo... However if they do continue dropping after the release of GW:EN (which i doubt) diamonds would be the best alternative...

Ectos have exactly 1 use, FoW armor, and most of the people who want it either already have it or decided some of the newer vanity armors like vabbian look better anyway. As a result, demand is constantly falling, so price is falling.

Solution: Prop up demand with a new use for ectos. I, for one, would love to see a crafter who would make inscribable storm bows, chaos axes, eternal shields, etc out of ectos. Could probably boost the demand for some of the "loser" rare materials like spirit wood by including them in the recipe.

Anti-farm code was taken off Ectos and it looks like it ain't ever coming back.

For that reason I predict eventually Ectos will be at Amber and Jade prices.

Forget the auction house, Anet should implement a broker so I can short sell ectos.

It's more than just ectos. Prices for everything are down. I believe it all started with the farming changes they made to white items and cash drops. Now everyone has to farm rare items because they don't fall under the same farm code. So, there are more of them being farmed than there used to be.

I saw that first hand with titan gems, they were at 65k+ before the changes, then they dropped and kept droppping fast as more people started to farm them, now they are 25k or lower. It's funny watching how many monks and rangers are running out the door in DOA when it's busy now.

Hopefully GWEN will have something decent to sell. It sucks being poor.

i guess it can go down to 100g if it keeps dropping this way, but lets see.

because there will be 4 pairs of new armor i thought that one would be like vabbian and have an obscure cost consisting of diamonds, ectos, and shards but that is all in my head

I'm going to post the exact same thing I sent to the moderators asking for this thread to be closed (just in case they disagree with me and don't close this thread) so I can get my point in.

"Although not exactly a bad post, I just think its kinda repeatitive and unnecessary. We had people make threads when the ecto price droped to 7k, 6.5k, 6k, AND 5.5k. This forum seriously doesn't need anymore ZOMG ecto price has fallen again threads (all the advice and suggestions made in the previous threads are all still viable). I remember that when factions came out there was a strict policy to delete all threads about where the luxon/kurzick line was (ie, threads about the Luxons taking Vasberg were deleted) or about specific alliances taking over towns. I believe the same policy should be applied here (price flucuation, just like the shifting of the boarder is a game mechanic that should not cause shock and awe to people whenever it happens)."
