Gwen: Zero, or Hero?

Now many people are saying throughout the game and the forums that gwen might or might not be a hero in EotN. Now, if she is, great, then we can make her amazing and take her along on a dungeon run. BUT if she isnt, she is still obviously an important role in GW:EN, hell her name is in the anagram! All im worried about is if she'll become the "white" kormir, if u know what i mean. if u dont then let me enlighten you. a freeloading, lazy, know-it-all, that doesnt do SH**, follows u around, and takes all the credit for the victory in the end and becomes a goddess for doing nothing but navigating through a desert while being blind and worthless to the team.. PLEASE A-NET, DON'T MAKE GWEN A PIECE OF CRAP LIKE KORMIR! WASN'T SHE WORTHLESS ENUF IN PRE-SEAR?

Anyone that attended the Dragon Festival Finale this year has seen the "spoiler" since the Emperor said it in his speech. As well, the Master of Ceremonies had a spoiler in his initial text.

She'll probably be like Prince Rurik, Master Togo, Kormir...essential to the storyline and participating in quests, doing very little to assist in your survival, instead body blocking or bolting into the fray. There's a common thread to leading characters so my guess is she won't be a hero and will meet her doom. Then again, she might be the first one to survive or be a useful henchie like Mhenlo, but not a hero.
It does beg the question, why do they die once and become undead, ghosts and gods when we can die a million times, save all of their butts and remain mere mortals? I think we'll be the ones immortalised at the end of GW:EN and Gwen will live on to tell our tale.

my niece played guild wars and liked gwen. she would just bring gwen along and even bought her the cape and all lol. and sometimes she would just sit and read the comments gwen would say.

People do realise that if Gwen makes an apearance, she wont be that sweet little girl anymore?
She's going to be either a teenager or a young 20something!!
Anet might have already shown us her already, but we wouldnt realise it!!
But expecting her to be in the game, just because the game name happens to abreviate to GW:EN is wishfull thinking. That was just a very good marketting scheme by Anet.
We know she will apear, because Anet has pretty much said she will. Not because the game name is similar!

I don't see her being old enough to be a hero or henchman...
She was what like 7 or 8 maybe in pre-searing...which means 6 years later she's 13 or 14...(the time of Eye of the North is 6 years after the Searing, that is stated in the trailer)
Like people have said...she'll be important to the storyline...driving it along...but I don't think she'll be hero material.

I dont want she become a irritating brainless hero, I hope she is just the main npc of the storyline. I appreciatte her so much.

I really don't get whats go great about gwen. I can understand that some people like the fact that she was in prophecies and that its nice to see her grow from that girl to something else.
Hopefully the story they give her in GW:EN will draw me in. Other wise she'll just be another annoying NPC who wants me to give her a bunch of stuff :P

Well in the recent screens Gwen is first in the line of heros. Shes also wearing her concept art dress and looks like the new mesmer.

There is no IF about it now. Check out the new GW:EN trailer, it shows the grown up Gwen and has her narrating the vid. Very cool stuff.

I think that they are just NPC's not heroes, the three clone norn brutes seem some kind of henchie not heroe.

they should make her a professionless hero in which we are able to choose what she ll be running , since shes still rather young it could be shes learning to be the master of all professions so later she can become SuperUberEliteist Gwen ... "master of her Domain"

I think all the ones up to the Asura (is that Vekk?) are heros. The Tengu could be an assassin hero. Gwen is seen in a second outfit (whereas the first one was rangerish this one screams mesmer) so its safe to assume she is an hero and that its one of her hero armors.
The middle of the 3 norns is probably the bear we see behind Jora (Same tattoo and an armor plate on stomach though not an exact match) and the other two norn are most likely NPCs. Look at the Mesmer on the first picture (armors) and look at her right hand. All mesmer models are like this. So shes deffinetly using the Mesmer model. (Female Paragons also have a finger extending outwards but the other fingers are grasped inwards unlike the Mesmer)

I noticed this myself and commented in another thread too.

YES, please make Gwen a hero. People callign Hero's "useless" and "incompetent" makes no sense - they can only be incompetent and useless if you let them be!
If she's just another NPC leading you through Eye of the North, I'll be very disappointed. I hate NPCs stealing the show away from my character anyway...

In Factions and Nightfall there were single leading characters taking us through the game. For EotN it sounds like the beacon of leading character is passed from one person to another. I'm betting Jora is the leader for the Norns part,Gwen for the Vanguards part,Pyre for the Charrs part and Vekk for the Asuras part. So with the final conclusion it would make sense all these leaders join your party as you progress........making them the Heros of EotN. Patrick Stealthwind

Well now, lets look at the clues on what gwens new profession is going to be. She healed in pre sear. she lit e1 on fire in the beta like the demonic child she is. She wants to be a warrior. Her armor looks mesmerish and she likes the way they look apparantly. Im saying she's going to be a warrior but has silk outfit on. But then again...maybe she is going to be a mesmer. A-Net IS trying to bring back the mesmer class into more popularity. tell me if i missed any clues (i probably did) and tell me what u think her profession might be based on these clues.
