Hall of Monuments Heritage

So i'm assuming Hall of monuments is like Guild Hall, but Only you can see and if you want your friends to see you have to "Invite" them to Hall of monument, which is either 100g or free.
And I believe its Account based.
For instance I've 17 char's on one account
You probably view all the titles like, skills selection (K)
about armors and weapons i'm not so sure, probably multi-level shelves xD

Titles like "Kind of a Big Deal" are still Character based: you won't get it unlocked just because you happen to have 5 characters with 5 titles each. However, each Title should be recorded in your HoM individually.
This is actually very cool for the casual player who may have played different campaigns with different characters. Hopefully, we'll only have to have one character complete a Chapter to have it recorded as being completed. I'd like to see a Quest reward as well (Title based or not), where we get recognition for completing every Quest in a Chapter.
Comments? Well that would defeat the porpose of it being account based because that would create individual HoM on your account and would be very messy with the transition to GW2. IMO once you unlock a title on any character it will be put in the same HoM, it might just have the name of the character that owns the title under it to distiguish who it belongs to.

I'm wondering how the mini-pet monument will work. If all you need to do is just bring a mini-pet to the monument, I can already see the massive mini-pet swap meet my guild will be having.
Starsky-sama
^unless they make it that you have to store the pet inside it to avoid the swapping. which then makes it "messy" again, bcuz the armors cant be done the same way, or your character(s) will be "nekid".
/Suspense is really killer at this point...Anet plz provide us with the specific info on the "how" of HoM....soon! lol

Or... perhaps they put any mini-pets that are in your character's bags or in your Xunlai Chest in there... maybe once they are given to another player they are no longer in your Hall of Monuments but are now in theirs? I can imagine it working the same way for armour and weapons.

I heard from the walkthrough video that only weapons obtained thru GW:EN will count in HoM.
This is kinda disapointing cus I really like many non-GWEN skins.
But again, anet is known to like to change the rule of the game later on with updates/nerfs based on ppl who whine and cry and complain :P
And if this is true, I'll be 1 of those ppl :P

Makes me curious if you can invite a presearing character to the hall of monuments.......although they would probably make it so you can trade so that would any fun i would have with that lol.
Though i dont think i need to inherit my pre collectors armor if i could lol.

Conjur me
Im wondering about FoW.. think they might let you "scan" it in the hall then in GW2 maybe you do a quest to inherit the new FoW equivilent? also can we just scan in single armor bits instead of the whole set?

Though i dont think i need to inherit my pre collectors armor if i could lol. I'm betting the Hall of Monuments will be similar to the Command Post in Nightfall. To bring other players in they have to be at the correxponding outpost and travel from there. Probably the leader of the group is who's Hall will show up once they arrive.

The video narrated by Ben Miller over at IGN said, and I quote, "Here we have the Monument to Valor, where weapons only obtainable through Eye of the North are shown."
That sentence can be interpretted 2 different ways. People have been interpreting it to mean that we won't be able to store weapons that weren't obtained in Eye of the North. However, he could have just been pointing out some of the new skins Eye of the North offers. That sentence doesn't necessarily disqualify weapons obtained elsewhere in Guild Wars. ANet hasn't given a diffinitive statement one way or the other about what will or won't be allowed into the Hall of Monuments with respect to weapons. Don't give up hope on your bow collection yet. Your perfect Storm Bow still has a chance. Same goes for everyone saying that their Fissure Armor will go bye bye too. actionbatman
i belive the HoM will work like this.
titles, mini pets and armor will be counted. For example instead of the game saying your past character unlocked the protector of cantha title here is your reward. It would say your past character earned a title please choose a reward from the list. This would work for all of the above. So it would not matter what armors you had or titles or mini pets but the more you have the more rewards you can choose from. I belive it will be like this since i cant believe there going to put mountains of work into creating individual rewards for each thing. weapons i think however are going to be a direct transition. So if you get a sword from GWEN it will be the same sword in GW2. This because unlike redoing armor etc weapons are easy to produce as evidenced by the preorder bonus items in GW1. i think only GWEN weapons will count however since they would have to remake the weapon in GW2 engine and that would take time away from making GW2 stuff. My feeling is though that HoM weapons will be the only way you can get some of them for example i dont think we will see paragons in GW2 so maybe in GW2 you can only get a spear from HoM. that way other players would go thats cool and it would let people know you played GW1. I read somewhere something about Red weapons in GWEN. I have a feeling only these Red weapons will be able to be entered into the HoM.

Maybe, but that sounds kinda silly. Who wants a useless weapon in GW2?
More likely, the weapons will unlock other weapons in GW2. So, in your example, a Spear would unlock a Sword or something in GW2. Mordakai

My own hope is that Greens and the rumored Red weapons will be able to be entered...
I can't see how Anet can allow any weapon to be entered, and have special rewards for each mod or inscription. So, even if a Storm Bow could be entered, I doubt very much Anet will care it is "Perfect" or not. As for FoW armor: Why wouldn't that be stored? We've already seen pictures of other armor stored. We just have no idea what the reward for FoW armor will be in GW2. stiffler
Red weapons, I suggested Anet bring in some new uber rare perfects much like greens but they are "reds" ages ago, hmm perhaps someone from Anet saw my post , it would help to fix the over saturation of greens in the market, but this is getting off topic.
ShadowStorm, I hope you are right and I can see how it may have been misinterpreted. /crossfingers Hobbs
One of the things i'm wondering is, by the time GW2 comes out in 2 years time, everyone will have every title if they at all try to get it so it kinda makes it obsolete. I'm all for receiving something cool for my "I'm Very Important" whether it's a title, weapon, aura or whatever but just because that's a relatively rare title now doesn't mean it will be when GW2 comes out and so any "street cred" I gain from IVI will be tiny as it is entirely possible everyone from GW1 will have it.

About weapons for HoM, I have answer from Ben Miller himself
Listen carefully what he says about weapons in HoM. http://www.gametrailers.com/player/23071.html He says weapons only obtainably in Eye of The North. So no fancy stuff for past Mordakai
Shadowstorm has a different interpretation:

I really wish they wouldn't be so vague on subjects relating to HoM.
Though you may argue otherwise, it does affect how we play the game, whether it be buying minipets or collecting rare weapon skins. Shiro Katagari
Personally speaking:
1) The HoM will be account based - that's pretty much a given. At best, it may say things like "This title was acquired by Kylar Shadebane", or "This suit of armour was worn by Galen Steelheart", but it will all be in the same HoM, whichever of the characters on your account visit your HoM. 2) I feel that, if you want to register an achievement like armour, a minipet or a unique weapon here, then - chances are - you'll have to leave it there forever. Kinda like selling it. Sounds rough? If you don't lose the minipet, for example, but gain some benefit from storing it (unlock something in GW2), then letting you take it out again creates horrible logisitc problems with your GW2 account, as well as letting multiple people unlock the GW2 bonus with a single weapon/pet. Removing the item lends more 'prestige' to having the relevant bonus in GW2, too. As an aside, I could see that just 'having' a suit of armour would allow it to appear in the HoM, since there's no limit to them and no-one else can benefit from them. RobTehUnknown
This is indeed stunning and brain hurtling...Can someone be so kind to POST the link to the e3 video?

In case you didn't know red weapons already exist they are the special weapon and armor skins (some of which not currently in the pve game) that can be bought through tournament reward points with stats that can be changed as much as you like.
I can't see how Anet can allow any weapon to be entered, and have special rewards for each mod or inscription. So, even if a Storm Bow could be entered, I doubt very much Anet will care it is "Perfect" or not
As far as what weapons/armors could be put in (assuming its not only eotn stuff which would suck) I would guess that weapons of the exotic level and armor of the fancy level (exotic and fancy are the terms the tournament guy uses to sort the various rarities) would be able to be put in.
=DNC=Trucker
In any case, I just cannot see the developers giving a huge (gameplay) advantage in GW2 to those who played GW1 and decked out their hall. Maybe some vanity equipment...

Well , ive giving up to read all the pages, so id like to advice.
Played guild wars some time ago, i have NF and factions, and id kinda like to start up playing the game again. Mainly guild wars 2 when its released. But my question is: If my main interest is playing guild wars 2, will it have MAJOR benefits if id have eye of the storm bonuses? Is the bonuses you can transfer rly worth it ? And do you think i would understand GW2 more story wise ? Thx alot silvershock

My guess for minipets and pets are people will try collecting and swap them and stuff. Of all the stuff in GW:EN I'm most excited for HoM by far. I have to dissagree. It's quite obvious that since even MINIPETS get customised, weapons will 2. so you will not be able to sell it/use it on another character. Matt_Night
So, the preview event's over but i didn't get a chance to check the weapons-heritage monument. Can someone please shed some light on what weapons can be put there? Greens only? Golds from GWEN? ...Something else?
thanks! Lonesamurai
