New Dragon festival...next weekend

now this is VERY strange. rerolling entire holiday events just a few weeks after the original? this kind of cheapens it.......
I feel strange criticizing it because, hell, it's something to do and I can work my sweet tooth title pretty good, but there's a law of diminishing returns here. I think it's another sign how thin they are stretched.
edit: two more thoughts:
1. If they want to redux someting, how about Wintersday.....something that didn't JUST HAPPEN
2. This sets a tough precedence. Now everyone will want a repeat of every holiday event

I guess they're experimenting with re-runs to help those who couldn't attend, whilst not doing an "old" festival to avoid upsetting those who want original hats to remain "special". Personally I'd rather they throw caution to the wind and re-run something from way back, that more of us are likely to have missed, but well, gift horse and all that... (OK, just saw the explanation, but I'll leave what I said, because I really would like to see some of the original events re-run).

Here's a thought. Maybe... it's precisely because of all the lag that they're re-running, A second chance ? I couldn't walk more than 5 yards without freezing during the last one. Managed to get the demon mask, but couldn't take part in any of the celestial charge running or pick up gifts. It was the same for pretty much everyone I know (in real life).

This is exactly what the community asked for, and complaining about it is pretty lame imo. If you managed to experience the event last time and feel that repeating it would "cheapen" it, there's nothing forcing you to attend it again.

All sour grapes huh? At least you know Anet was unhappy with people being left out due to technical lags. Plus this time around shouldn't cause those same bugs.. right? Maybe this time i can enjoy the raining of presents and play the celestial charge game?

ROFL, This thread just proves that no matter what A-Net does, people will complain about it. If Arena net decided to give every player 10k free, folks would be whining that it wasn't 20k.
Personally, I loved the dragon festival. I enjoy the boardwalk games and any chance I get to increase my lucky/unlucky/sweet tooth/drunkard/skillz titles. I'm really looking forward to next weekend!!!

AWE!!! ANET AT LEAST OFFER THE 1st ORIGINAL DRAGON MASK for those of us that missed the first Dragon Festival but DID get to attend the 2nd one...
Sigh... I will never get an original dragon mask since I bought Factions so late...
(but this is good for people who want to attend the 2nd dragon fest that missed the demon helm...)

Wow, I thought this was some kind of mistake at first, but I guess it's happening. It does make sense, as a lot of people experienced some pretty horrible lag during the festival, maybe it's a way to make up for those who didn't really get a chance to play because of that.
They could also be using it as a chance to hype up GW:EN. Maybe the earthquakes?

Europeans, in particular, were not able to participate in the DF in July, or were so lagged they didn't get the drops, or found that the Dragon Arena was just unplayable. Now, with a global game, how nice is it to repeat the event for everyone? So that global guilds aren't in a "have's and have not's" position. So that people who did attend can, well, do it all again if they choose.
(Sorry for the sarcasm at the top -- sometimes negativity, especially repeated, unreasonable, and ill-founded negativity -- just boggles my mind.
On the other hand, thank you to the vast, vast majority who read, who understand, and who support the rerun of the event!)

I'm not typically the one to complain about stuff like this...but...this is kind of lame...
Well Timmy was in crutches last month during Christmas, so we're going to have a second Christmas for everyone because Timmy couldn't participate to the full extent that everyone else could.
It just seems wrong....
