OMFG!!!

Not 5 min ago I was playing GW_F... I was in about 30% done with the storyline lvl 16 Rt/N... and I wanted to do one more mission... but i could not put a team together.. because there were like 8 ppl in the town, with 7/8 afk :s

This is not only in GW_F but also in GW_P in some towns and districts... I dont have nightfall jet so i cant say about that...

Im sorry to see that GW is dying already...slowly...but shure is...

What dou you guys think about it??? Is GW dieing slowly and what about nightfall... same problems there???

What do you think...???

I think Factions sucked, as did a large part of this community, hence no one plays there.

BTW GW isn't dying. If Gaile is correct the numer of players is at it's highest EVER.

"Already dying"

just in case you need the proper spelling.

but...

Why would you think otherwise. Nightfall is the new kid on the block.

PR spin. It's likely that there are more players overall, but who cares if there is a sharp player increase in Pre-Searing/Shing Jea/Istan when every other important area is barren?

Already? This game has been around for 2+ years so if it is dying, it had a pretty good run. I'm sure GW:EN will revive the player base, people are a bit bored right now.

there is simply nothing to do in gw after you have finished the story. Titles? Grind. Items? All the same crap stats you get from merchants. Quests? Rewards are pitiful and xp is meaningless. This is why gw pve dies rapidly.

Oh good, I was worried - we didn't have a doomsday thread like this for what...30 minutes? Anyhoo, no the game is not dying though most people seem to avoid Factions because the majority disliked it (I personally loved it). Just go to Pre-Searing in Tyria and see how many noob questions are asked in a minute...its phenomenal. Also Nightfall is still very popular.

Gaile said more NEW players than ever. as in... people who sit around presearing arguing about which 13 year old boy's female ele has the biggest breasts.

never cared for Factions the way it was laid out it caused the disbanding of many a guild including mine. But I still play none the less and will continue till I can no longer enjoy it. My biggest regret in game is not PvPing but the guild I was in was not into that as much as most. I have lost much of the knowledge base for builds and how to use them by missing out on PvP. I still love doing the PvE missions and quests though. But, I must say GW is by no means DYING

I don't think GW is dying, people are just taking a long vacation from GW until new content is added.

yeah pretty much. which basically means it is dying, but GWEN will revive it for a couple months. after that..... well, lets just say GW2 better have one hell of an advertising campaign. An early alpha event for GW players would be a huge plus in terms of keeping people interested long enough for GW2 to come out.

The only thing keeping Factions alive is AB or Urgoz or the Deep or ppl farming greens. It went well for 3 months but who really likes the city area of KC.What is needed for those that just want to cap elites there is unlock the gates and eventually they will have to do something about Prophecies as it takes to long to get through it.

Don't forget it is summer so some are out doing things.

Meh I think Guild Wars started dying a few days after NF came out.

Wait till GWEN comes, and alot of people who took a break come back ^^

No new players will buy GW:EN, though, cause they need an other chapter for it...

As for the reasons... After you beat the storyline, it's either PvP or quitting. In the past, this was prevented with other stuff in the game, but they kept being altered and nerfed to the way they are now - not fun.

So yeah, most people who beat PvE most likely went to do PvP.

The difficulty of the game also might have to do with it. Missions like Thunderhead Keep used to be 'People stoppers'. Most people got stopped there, cause of the difficulty, and were forced to team up and creat good parties to beat it.

Now, that is no longer needed, as you can just fetch some henchies and beat that mission with the heroes, who have just the builds you needed. The rate which in people beat the game has increased, and the stuff to do after the game has been nerfed.

But I put my hopes in GW:EN, and hope people will start playing then again! (Since GW:EN has cool stuff to do next to the storyline, like the mini games, boredom shouldn't be a problem. )
