How Many Characters/Professions Do You Play?

with 10 professions, 3 campaigns, and numerous toon specific titles, it seems a little overwhelming to play all 10 professions.

after nf was released, i decided to concentrate on 2 of my favorite and oldest toons, monk and warrior.

ive dabbled in all the other professions but i find that i enjoy playing monk and warrior the most.

so how many professions do you play?

edit - my question is geared towards pvers as pvpers usually reroll to play most professions.

11 characters, all 10 professions (I have two Necros) and no PvP. Most have multiple armor sets and a handful of titles. Going to buy three more slots, mostly for the bonus stuff, but also because I enjoy making and leveling up new ones. Can't bring myself to delete the ones I have already, though.

I play all professions, whatever I'm in the mood for, or came up with a build for. Warrior is my least played.

I have 1 character that I play and a few characters for storage. He is a Warrior/Assassin. I have nearly 300 hours on him and I have had him for nearly a year. Thats probably nothing for some, but man, that's a lot of playing for me.

Yep all professions here too - My fave's are Ranger >Monk > Necro > Paragon
My least faves are Warrior > Ritualist > Assassin (worst ><)

To be fair some of them I play least are now on mule duties.
To the op remember each lvl 20 character through NF is a valuable source of cash....(30k each from unlocked chests + golds worth 50k total) * 10 characters every 45-60 days

Before titles got introduced I used to play all four characters (since there were only four slots at that time) quite evenly. Nowadays I find myself playing my mesmer 90% of the time unless I'm helping someone out with something that requires a specific character. I think it's because of the titles, it now feels more meaningful to do different things with the same character than to play through the same storylines yet again with different characters. Maybe it's a stupid mindset but that's how it is for me.

Necromancer & Warrior. I have tried all professions, but most don't make it past lvl10 before I delete them.

As for PvP, I can run any build, but greatly prefer warrior or necromancer.

1 and rarely at that. Had a warrior but he got deleted. I'm trying to get an ele through chapter1 but just can't face the boredom of getting to level20.

I have another account, not logged into that one for ages so no idea if there is anything on it.

Pretty much just ranger and dervish.

Ranger was my first "main", while I enjoy dervish more. I still pick up my ranger occasionally, as interrupting is just so incredibly satisfying. I still have fond memories of the early days when I landed my first concussion shot in pvp, and he went "buggy piece of ---- game" and raged, or the occasional "lag" when interrupting in general.

I'm an aoe nut but prefer physical classes in favor of pure casters, so dervish just came naturally to me. I also thought the class was overall interesting and original.

I think I've gotten each class to level 20, and have all skills unlocked for a handful of classes. They just didn't interest me enough to warrant playing the campaigns again.

9 slots 2 of which are pvp. 1 level 11 paragon, level 11 dervish (I can't be bothered to get them to level 20 I just stop caring for them. Really good mules though). level 20 necro, ele, ranger, warrior, ritualist. I find myself playing ritualist more than anything since I've made some builds to solo several HM areas across all 3 campaigns. Not so much for loot/gold but for the hell of it and the skill points don't hurt either.

Right now I'm concentrating on my Ranger...as she was my first character...and I finally got her to Legendary Survivor. I'm gathering up the titles on her now...she's sort of my prize character now.

Besides her I also play a Warrior, Ritualist, and Dervish. I have characters of every profession...I just don't play them all...

I've got 8 characters but my favorites would have to be my Warrior and Necro. The only professions that I don't have are a Monk, Mesmer and Paragon. I've beaten all 3 games with all my characters except for my Sin and Rit in Prophecies but I'll eventually get to that.

I stick with just two myself anymore. The game has gotten pretty huge since it was created and to actually take 8 different toons through all the chapters, earn titles, ect. would take a lot of time. That and I find myself always going back to the ranger and warrior I created which are still my favorites. If one is after titles or earning all the P vs E content it is faster to concentrate on one character and not eight. Although it is nice to have the variety to switch between professions as the mood of the gamer changes.

there was a thread already with exactly the same topic.. you could search for that one.

have all 10, better players know how every char is played and what each has a weaknesses/strengths in. Though I play my Monk Mesmer and Ele alot less so far. Those above plus my ranger and necro do not yet have every skill of their primary. My War,Ass,Derv,Para, and Rit have every single skill available on all 3 chapters to their primary. Working on beating nightfall now to get him all the skills left in Elona.

I could care less about every elite/skills for my ranger, monk, mesmer, ele though. I only UAX for pvp with those. Not going to waste gold on everything that sucks for them.

If anything, PvPers are a lot more likely to specialize in a particular role than PvEers.

In the 19 months I've played, I've had every profession at level 20. I currently have warrior, monk, necro, dervish, paragon, ele, and ranger. I mostly play on my warrior, occassionally play on monk. The other ones I don't really play unless I'm needed to use them.

I play a Ritualist, Warrior and Necromancer. My Rit is my most played, the other two I jump on if I want to do something different. Always end up going back to my Rit though. I've spent the most time and money on her, and she's the only one I bother getting titles on.

I've had plenty of others, but I deleted them due to lack of interest.

Got all characters but Mesmer and Ritualists, out of all the characters I think only 2-3 of them aren't crammed with useless junk preventing me from palying them.

I prefer my Ranger(very first character), Assassin(recently made, and is great), Warrior(just for titles I guess)

2 Warriors (Axe + Sword), 2 Rangers (mule and BM), Monk, 4 Eles (PvP mule, materials mule, fire, earth), Paragon, Dervish, Assassin, Monk, PvP Slot (Currently Pack Hunter)

Like my Axe warrior most, first char I decided to play properly, and got the most hours. My sin's quite fun to play, done a bit with my monk as well, she's not too bad. Also done a lot of PvP lately in AB's and such

my sin has helped guildies doing GoM
while my ranger is better at GoP

diversity is the best.

I like warriors because I have played them in every game I play. I rarely like caster classes. I have a ranger which I like too, I like the pet aspect, but I don't play it much.

I guess you could say that I like melee combat. That gives me War, Sin, Derv. I hate ninjas, I don't like the concept of the shadowy warrior, the in and out that is an assassin. I tried playing a dervish but I really didn't get into it.

What I like doing as my warrior? Being able to fight a variety of different classes with the same build. Sure I can't do certain things, and some builds shut me down. But with attack skills I can fight whoever is needed to be fought. That cocky ranger that runs up with his stance, break it. That elementalist sittin there throwing off AoEs, I can put pressure on him and other casters.

If you don't understand that, you probly won't dig warriors Just like I can't understand why anyone would want to sit their raising minions. Doesn't click with me.

I've had at least one level 20 of every profession, though with repeated deletions.

My monk received the most attention. In order of hours played per profession it probably goes: monk, warrior, necromancer, elementalist, ranger, mesmer, ritualist, assassin, dervish, paragon. The latter two barely got played at all, and neither finished any campaign.

In order of experience, something like: monk, warrior, elementalist, necromancer, ranger, mesmer, ritualist. The others not worth mentioning.

Vastly preferred the original core professions; ritualist would be my favourite profession of Factions and Nightfall.

Played with 10 PvE toons of every profession, through all 3 campaign storylines, no runs, both sides of Kurzick and Luxon lands, max ascended armor, etc, etc, etc; it was rather boring at times but I think the end result is well worth it. I mean the access and range of knowing each profession inside and out have helped me to help others. Furthermore playtime between each character gets well adjusted equally. The only favorite that comes to mind is my first character which is my monk.
