Yeah, I think quite a few points are gonna be added to my Treasure Hnter title on that weekend.

I wish I wasn't working for most of the preview weekend

Must admit, that tarnishes things a little for me too. That would be fine if the event was free access, but it isn't. The best pre-release bonus offers are only free when you order the game - even the official store demands cash upfront (even if it can be deducted later), so there's really no reason to limit us like this. Everyone going has either ordered GW:EN, paid for the pre-release pack or both.
Please Anet - if possible, amend the code for that, as it really isn't necessary.

Sorry, what do oyu mean by "even if it can be deducted later". Are you saying that If I have bought the PRE-ORDER PACK from the Official Online Store, I will pay $5 for it, and it will AUTOMATICALLY add GW:EN to my account and deduct it's cost from the credit card used?
Sorry, just a bit confused with this preorder thing.

No - I *think* we'll get offered a lower price on the Anet store because we bought the pack, but I'll admit they haven't been overly clear on that.
I don't think they'd be dumb enough to start auto-charging for GW:EN, after people had only agreed to pay $5 for the pre-release. It'd likely be against the terms of the credit card agreements and quite possibly illegal.

Ah, thats very reassuring then. I will be counting the days till the early access weekend. I wanna checkout some of the new skins and greens.

There's a big difference between paying $5 and $40.
And there are people who would take advantage of playing 72 hours for $5, and never buy the full game. That's why they lock the items....

Just to let you all know, this thread has been sticky'd for discussion of the Sneak Preview weekend, till Firebat makes his thread!
Thanks!

Do you guys think that we can explore the whole multi-level dungeons, or just the 1st or 2nd floor only?

Yeah that's a fair point. A reasonable compromise might be to lock items *after* GW:EN goes live, for those that haven't bought, but I guess it's not the end of the world.

Putting together tidbits from Gladiator's Arena and here, it seems like Anet is gonna do a skill balance right before or right after the weekend.
Either way, there's gonna be some happy people and angry people. More happy people if before, and more angry if after, reason being there's gonna be people testing the viability of speculated builds. (*Cough*Minion Bomber!*Cough.*)
We'll see.

There is going to be a skill balance later this week, although unconfirmed of the actual day right now i'd have to guess friday.

That would work, too. Maybe even better, as people would get used to their items.

So we can keep loot, XP, etc.
But what about "geographical progress"? Will we be able to start off in a new settlement come 31st, or will we have to do the trekking/fighting/etc all over again?
12 Aug 2007 at 23:02 - 38
i think we get to keep our progress, because its a headstart

I am so eager for the GWEN weekend. I'm just curious to know a few things...
How far is HoM from the start?
Where will magma gloves be?
How much will said gloves cost?
Who shall be my first hero recruit from GWEN?
If by chance you gain a title will it be displayed after the weekend?
I know that these questions will more than likely NOT be answered until GWEN goes live, but these are the questions floating around inside my mind. Honestly...I just want the gloves.

^In the IGN article, they said that Eye of the North is an actual physical place (outpost) where the towering HoM is. So i would believe when you reach the main city of Eye of the North. It's probably going to be ezier to get there in the sneak preview than at actual launch. (just like when there was a preview for Factions and we had straight access to Maatu Keep)
Now this:

Question:
Let's say we do acquire stuff during the sneak peek, it disappears after, then if it's suppose to reappear at launch. What if our inventories are full somehow, do we lose the physical items? or maybe a pickup window pops up? so this doesnt happen?
Just pondering.
