Something I rly apreciate is that there is 1 hero of each class. And I rly hope there will be no missions like:
To access this mission Morghan must be in your party.

Who cares about ritualists and assasins from Tyria? The White mantle has always had the Ritualist class amongst their ranks, though actually being Necromancers. They always dropped Dervish weapons (White Scythes).
And Evennia looked very similar to a Paragon, so it would not be odd to see more Paragons among the white mantle. They just couldnt add too many professions in the first game, or the other two chapters wouldnt sell, it has nothing to do with lore.
I'm curious about Jora, is she actually a Norn goddess? Maybe one of the demi-goddesses compared to The Six.

Here's what I noticed.
If the available heroes for a class in Nightfall were male only, the one in EoTN is a female. If the class was female only in NF, you now get a male. If there was one of each sex available in Nightfall, the new EoTN one is a new race.
They really rounded out variety. Any mixed-class team of heros can be all female or all male.

Man this is awesome. These heroes are way better than the NF heroes imo. Gwen is a must whenever i need a mesmer, and Jora i my fav warrior. And I get to kick arse with the Brain? whats more awesome than that?

I'll take a Luxon hero over a Kurzick hero Lukas clone. Besides they already have Gwen and Pyre at each others throats..a Kurzick hero would begin a Xandria vs Kurzick hero thing.
In the end it was probably a choice between the 2 factions and they decided to go with Luxon and make her Elder Rheas daughter for a backstory.

I think it's interesting how the people with the platinum pack will have 4 useless heroes. That's probably the reason they only made 10 skills for each class, to make incentive to buy the other expansions. Good way to indirectly jack money

from the manual it says rits shield their eyes to better commune with spirits...from a player perspective you can hide headgear to show of your sexy character :P from a lore perspective rit+headgear = better rit :P

I really like most of the new heroes, although the Dervish and Paragon seem rather uninteresting.. It also sounds like they're the ones that will join you by defeating them in the Norn tournament?
Still, at least we have a better variety now. I'll be glad not having to use Dunkoro and Koss all the time.

It is official.
Koss is going into permanent retirement as soon as I get Jora in Eye of the North. ... This is the first time I've said it but it won't be the last: Jora is HAWT. Not only that.... but Vekk might well take over in Sousuke's place by my side. The oppurtunities offered by having two non-human elementalists.... nay... three non-human heroes.... = Reduced spread of disease. If only I had a non-human Necromancer. Anyhow... the lack of Tengu hero sucks bum, but I shouldn't be surprised.

For one, people who didn't buy nightfall will have access to the heroes. Besides, the extra heroes can serve as mules to carry your extra weapons+offhands if you are not using them.

You, good sir, probably pissed off a lot of people with that comment. Let's keep this thread off of debating which classes are better/worse or whatnot.
Now, back onto topic... I like all the heroes much more then the NF heroes except for a few exceptions. I think il still use tahlk/dunk instead of the dwarf, and I am also going to stick with souske. Also, as much as I like Jora... I don't find the need for bringing a warrior hero along that often, as I usually play one myself, and when I don't i find bringing a nicely setup monk, ele, or necro being more important(as Devona usually works fairly well). |
