They are going to be added to no point me whining about them. Same opinion as mine (right back at you Herbalizer). Every person I personally know with FoW armor who earned it (ie, didn't ebay) is over the age of 20, with a full time job or college career. It takes a lot of dedication to get that rich, something most OCD kids can't do.

if u want to define what are rare items? its the combination of skin + req
Instead of skin + req + mods like it use to be. Witch is good imo.
there are a lot of people who still think like this:
ok if u can inscribe your req 13 rare skinned item and no1 will see the difference....

Same.
Its sad where this game is going. ANet needs to stop babysitting players who think (and usually do) achieve everything by whining.

No!
But the casual players want it. Too late now for this poll.

Inscribable items are like Factions' material storage. I bet they will make everything inscribable after GW:EN comes out.

The inscription system was an idea entirely thought up and implemented by Anet, not the players. Since the very first mention of it, there was a very loud moaning noise coming from the high-end collectors and e-peen crowd. That moan has only lessened due to many of them leaving the game because of it, those who remained continue to moan and whine about it.
If Anet discontinued the inscription system, it would be because they gave into these whiners - not the other way around.

Well, the vast majority of GW Players is casual players who play an hour or 2 a day. The change of the inscription system was made purely for them, because it allows them to have leet weapons without buying online gold for it or farming their behinds off.
As long as this game is being played by a majority of casual people don't expect advantages for the 'hard-core group' to come.
My 2 cents

Personaly, I don't like the idea of farming for hours on end just to make a buck. As well, I can't be bothered to take the time being a power trader. I find both things to be rather boring and acomplish little for the effort put in (my opinion). The inscriptions however have allowed me to customize my characters the way I want them for less time investment, which is good for the more casual player. Like Ensign said, pick your side of the line, casual player or power farmer/trader.

I wish they won't be inscribable.
If they were anyway then I wish they won't make old non inscribable items inscribable as well (retroactively).

Please make GW:EN drops inscribable...it would be horrid to go back to the old way of things again.
To be honest, i'd like to see an update like there was for the armours that makes all existing items inscribable. It'd just mean you can finally have the skin and stats that you want.
I vote for player choice.

My 2 cents I was messing about with my GW age last night and worked out I have played on average 2 hours a day since I got GW. A massive chunk of that is afking like how I have been on GW for an hour today but all of it was afk. Apparently I am meant to be rich or something...
A low amount of time played does not make you a casual gamer (please no," But wot bout p3r50n wiv 200 hrs on der acount lolz!!".

The ideal behind what i am trying to get across is this....
There are many many non inscribable items that are perfect, and still not expensive... Crafters also can make u anything, perfect to any level, that cost 10kish...
If the causual player just wants something that is perfect, 10k is nothing....
There are some rare inscribable items, still.... Tormented, elemental swords....
Many people play the game for many different reasons.... some just farm, some to get every char threw the end of all the chapters, some just pvp, some love 1 class and want to own "rare items" for that class....
My point is more then "the market, or economy". They are making it so nothing has any value, except for the very limited number of some mini pets (that were only released to asia, wierd)... me personaly, i hate mini pets... i thrive on rare skins and stats....
Just an example : There use to be say... 1000 req 9 fellblades 15^50.... now there are 1,000,000 atleast, because all fellblades can be turned into this... so the value, price, want for this item is cut to bits.... Still just 50 mini zheds...
Now your saying.... its just a pet, get a cheaper one... good point... well it is just a sword... get a cheaper one.....
So now, i sell my fellblades, and collect... say.... Spatha's.... guess what.... GWEN about to come out.... guess what... inscribable spathas are proly about to come out... guess what.... time to sell the spathas....
But why, have i not done all i can, as a legit player to earn the perfect spatha?
This is not about "im greedy and want to be only one with this item, because im greedy" this is, i have done my time, i have farmed, i have power traded.... why should someone who got the game 2 months ago, beable to have the exact same things i have?
What is there honestly to "earn" in pve? What is there for the other then casual player to do other then turn a few red dots to grey dots players to actually strive for?
I remember once upon a time, before inscribable.... when a purple item was value, when the "causal player" just went and used greens, or collectors...
How bout this, make everything inscribable, go for it.... and take out all crafters, take out all greens, take out all rare items, make all swords "gladius" make all axes "war axes" all hammers "war hammers" and all staves "jeweled"... lets see how happy that makes all the casual players....
There use to be a point in the "items, rewards" for your pve play, time, and enjoyment... now there are almost none.... you say, play to play, yes, but what happens when u beat the chapter? should i just stop playing till another campaign or expansion comes out? what happens when GWEN is the last one... guess i got about another 2 months left to play.....

I've nothing against rarity, but I've always hated the way it's implemented in GW. Random colour designations, reqs and fixed bonuses are, quite frankly, really stupid design decisions and I'm glad at least one of them has been given the boot.
Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with the concept of certain items existing in very small numbers, but it should be entirely about the skin. A Fellblade should be rare - not a random stat.

There are, apparently, red weapons in GW:EN that you'll be able to get and add to the HoM. These special reds will likely be similar to greens, perfect stats and non-inscriptable. Beyond that... think a minute here folks. Each character we take to EotN will have 10 new heroes to outfit. The inscription system lets the majority of people equip them as best as they can with minimal financial impact, which is as it should be.
I'll guarantee that none of the new heroes care whether or not they're carrying a purple or gold item.

totally wrong.. BECAUSE they are inscribable they can be outfitted with everything you need to make the item you want. THe problem is WORTH to you = Gold. ANET, PLEASE KEEP MAKING THE GAMES BETTER AS YOU HAVE BEEN! You have no argument in what I have bolded. Purple Crystalline Sword R13 14>50 = 100k Purple Crystalline Sword R10 14>50 = 100k +20 Ectos That is taking arguably the most desirable / expensive droppable sword and showing that it is easily obtainable uninscribable to casual players. Warriors using low amount of attribute points in sword ftl. Difference between 14>50 and 15>50 is non existant. People claim the GW population NEEDS nice skins at low prices. If so then why those people not whining about there still being skins out of reach of them. I.e. :- R9 Crystalline Sword = 400e R9 Dwarven Axe = 120e Etc. The HoH drops should have been left alone as casual players could not obtain them now so there is no problem them being unobtainable before. There are many many other examples of inscribable items being unobtainable to casual players refusing to make any effort to get more than like 100k whether that be because they are wasteful or just plain lazy. OMFG I NEED INSCRIBABLE CRISTALINE SORD SO IT CHEEP, NO NONINSCRIBABLE 1ssss AS TEHY COST 2 MUCH!!! Inscribable Crystalline prices = 100 +80e - 100k +400e -- GG I personally so no reason why people cannot make 1 million gold + with ease and little time. In my opinion there is not a single droppable item in the game which a casual player (playing 2 years) cannot afford but others will disagree. I would actually be embarrassed if I was unable to obtain several million gold casually over 2 years. Njaiguni Blaze
Y'all can make a poll and scream for Noooooo we don't want them, and Yeeeeesss gimme inscribable weapons, but I'm willing to bet 10k on it. After GW:EN goes live, the inscription system will be implemented in all chapters. Just like Material Storage.

Either you're lying for the sake of argument or I should feel sorry for you and the amount of time you spend playing GW. Either way you're probably in the minority.
Horseman Of War
I voted NO since there is no option that fits my opinion on this; and here is that opinion-
1. Inscribables should stay being a mostly-NF feature. 2. Purple items should not be inscribable (I have a few perfect req 9 purples, which just seems wierd to me but oh well) 3. The 'Quest-Chests' like Mallyx's, Kanaxai's, should continue to function the same. Expand this concept to other areas of the game (havent done TopK in ages... does this have a darknesses chest?) such as Sorrows Furnace, God Realms, maybe even Masters' Quests or something. 4. High-End treasure chests from non-elonan chapters should have a chance to drop gold inscribables, to add some fun back to chestrunning, and give some flava to the old skins. So, theres a few different layers to my idea, and a few contradictions, but I think you get the general idea eh Absinth187
Talk about beating a dead horse with these debates.
*prediction* Anet will implement what they want for the greater good as they see fit. But for the sake of polling: I pretty much agree with what Horseman wrote. The Herbalizer

They could do that pre-inscribable items. The items which they couldnt afford then with perfect stats they in some cases cannot afford now inscribable. 2. Just checked age and its at 2000 hours. Works out at like 2.6 hours a day. I thought it was 1500 but what with the 4 month holiday I am on it has obviously gone up. A huge chunk of that is afk. I could make 1 mil in 10 days only playing 3 hours a day or so... Drok run 15-20k per group, just over 2 groups per hour, so roughly 40k ish an hour lets say. Do for 3 hours per day thats 120k in 3 hours, but round down due to disconnects, scammers etc and say 100k in 3 hours. Then there is all those customers which paid me o so well, 100k for thk, 250k for rof, abadons etc, 25k for each desert mission. Two alone have paid me a mil each. Power trading in golden age, picked up one item for 60k offered 3.5mil for it. Another 120k --> 2.5 mil. 2.5 mil --> 1000e +. And those nice deals just keep coming so easily. I havnt actively had to make any gold since oo hmm, waaay pre-nf. I guess I am lying or dont have a life (especially since I play gw for 12 hours a day -_-). And to think my pve and pvp accomplishments are okay too. Hmm most expensive droppable item. Maybe a R9 Inscribable Stygian Reaver or R9 Inscribable Crystalline sword. 400e or so each. Whats that these days? 2 million gold? I have known multiple people who have bought fow armour from pve only and no farming which they were proud of. They posted here on guru actually. (edit: r8 +30-2s /-5 20% magmas is more maybe but even then still affordable). Anyway, GW sucks for rarity as nothing is rly rare now bar a few items. Titles ftw, especially expensive ones. max gladius
Running missions and Running people was the money maker back about a yr ago, yet some ppl still do it and make alot of money doing it... 2-4k / person running droks still adds up, so does soloing verish and soloing abadon.... it isnt the fastest money, but i personaly know of a few ppl doing each of the following above getting FOW armor in about a week.
Power trading is the "now" for fast cash, atleast for some of us.... I leave the mission / area running to the newer players to do to make money, i was there once, i know how hard it is to deal with scammers, and a few of you reading this may have even ran some of my char places, and all know i pay well, sometimes i just get a run to help someone make some cash.... Point is, there are ways to make money, and dont try to push that in anyones face with this discussion The Herbalizer
Casual players have the chance to make alot of gold casually. If they chose not to make it that is their problem. If they chose not to think and take advantage of certain situations that is their fault. The opportunity is there.
If you are not willing to take advantage of any situation and do nothing to make gold then that is your fault. If there is a massive need for a certain kind of run and a shortage of runners then alot of gold could be made, e.g. old school drok runs. No more, "If you dont want inscribable items you are elitest who has no life", comments or similar. If you dont know how people made their gold please dont throw such statements their way. Master Ketsu
Bottom line:
If gwen is not inscribable, people will just ignore gwen drops and keep farming nightfall. The inscription system is great. They just need to spread the system to every weapon out their, not take it away. Loviatar

Inscribable weapons are a good thing for the majority of the GW community. Inscriptions give any player the option to 1. fully arm all their heros with the smallest amount of money (good for new folks especially) 2. costomise their weapons to certain builds,(example:I have a guild member that has a different scythe for each of his builds). 3. obtain any skin in the game for a more reasonable price then the items from all the gougeing PoS folks selling a item(crystalline sword,Mini pets[especially]<-I know not on topic but is still BS) for an outrageous amount. I like the non inscribable items how ever because they look betting in a trade window. So on that note I stick with inscribable items because they serve a greater purpose for the vast 4million GW players(mainly because the costomizable factor).

You know what really grinds my gears? All the people who claim that the inscription system kills kittens and destroys the fabric of the universe are the same people who say that loot scaling is the ultimate evil inflicted upon video gamerkind.
Look, all the old system does is create a false sense of rarity by making most items worthless. You effectively get 1/20 the usable drops in the old system compared to inscriptions. I don't think there's anyone in their right mind you can claim that having one mod be special and unchangeable is more logical than a system in which all mods are, well, modifiable. So, for all the people against inscriptions because they make things more common - would you be happy if drops were made inscribable, but all drops are reduced by 95% to simulate the horrendous quality of tyrian/canthan drops? If not, quit whining. If so, I'm pretty sure the 85% of players (probably more) who voted yes are going to flame you to a crisp. The Herbalizer

With that statement u totally contradict urself... if u didnt notice... and if u maybe... hmmm read a few threads, u will see how few, if any of the ppl who dislike inscriptions commented anything on as u put it "loot scaling is the ultimate evil" Not to change the subject to loot scaling, but you cant even compare that, or mention that in the same topic as this... Here is a link, learn what loot scaling did, and how it was directed toward bots.... I and many other "high end traders" as were labeled are fond of the loot scaling cause it is cutting down on all the bots... Now... Back on topic.... Dr Strangelove

[snarky] Ok, fine, you like loot scaling, me too, we agree on something. Back on topic, would you be ok with implementing inscriptions but reducing drops to 5% of their current levels? Second, would you perhaps like a mod that would cover up the name of the inscription, thus making it indistinguishable? [/snarky] To be honest, I think there's an irreparable divide between "carrot and stick" players like yourself, and players who like the game for the fun, the challenge, the social atmosphere, and the joy of innovation. Personally, I don't think constantly reaching for that green light is particularly fun ingame or in life, and I'll never get why people do it, but hey, do whatever makes you happy. But please, don't try and ruin the fun for other people, eh? Paloma Song
The problem is that most of the people bemoaning the supposed demise of the economy, do not mean "economy" in the sense that a normal player does - the grand balance of player transactions between each other and the various money sources and sinks. What the bemoaners mean by the destruction of the economy is anything that cuts into their profits.
I'm not at all saying there's anything wrong with wanting to make a profit. What I'm saying is, when said beg for a reversion of policy which makes it harder for casual players to get desirable items: consider the source. Oblivion99
Imo inscriptions will continue in GW:EN, and honestly, i dont care. People who know me know that I diffinately don't like inscriptions, as I just like being reminded of the "good old" days of GW :P. I think that if you are a new player, then yes inscriptions are cool, and its nice to get the skin you want. However, at least for me, after 2 years of playing this game, I want something that is truly worth spending the money I have earned, that is cool but also near unattainable to a new player. IMO inscriptions and uninscribed are like cars. You can get a honda, which is a rlly nice, cheaper car that runs and has nice features, or you can get a Mercedes, which is much more luxurious in all ways but still does basically the same thing for you, gets you around. If you have money you go for the mercedes, if you dont, the honda is still cool.

Its been said the weapons in eotn will be inscribable. Which is fine in my eyes since it makes it easier for someone who doesn't have the time to farm and buy expensive and perfect non-inscribables. Who cares at this point anyway? After people beat this expansion they'll move on to better things. I've asked many people I know who will be doing just that.
