Hardest boss to cap experiences
terminus123
So what boss was your hardest elite cap??? for me it has to be:
(not using elite Tomes!)
#1-Maw The Mountain Heart, Feast of Corruption: Only boss with this elite and seriuosly he spawns in 6 differant maps! all random and he's a ground wurm meaning he pops out of the ground so you never know where he is and if he does come at you, you probably will not have a cap sig handy.
#2-Assassin's Construct, Temple Strike: you'll have to be quite lucky or on the Luxon side to cap this elite. The boss appears at the very end of Sunjiang District mission and he may not even appear since the 4 last bosses are totally random, also sometimes you may not even have enough time to use cap sig before mission ends....or do the later way, do the Luxon quest and cap him in Silent Surf.
#3-Goss Darkweb, Abbadon's Mouth: the boss appears rarley in the mission which is the only place you'll find him and Abbadon's Mouth is more of a later mission, also personally I thought it was farley hard.

Myd Springclaw in mineral springs... the most annoying thing was visiting 5/6 of the spawn locations and he has spawned in the final one >_<

That evil monk griffon in Vabbi. Wiki didn't exaggerate, it's REALLY hard to kill him without daze or a mesmer.

Irritating/Time consuming caps:
1: All RoF rotation missions/S.Shiverpeak rotation maps
Most annoying cap:
Unsteady Ground (Island Guardian boss in Maishang Hills)- I was silly and didn't bring BHA.
Caps that gave me the most difficulty:
Power Flux.
Onslaught.
Maw the Mountain Heart wasn't difficult at all- it just took a while to get up there.

RoF missions sucked. Hells wasn't *that* bad though. But the worst are Jagged Bones, that one sin elite and any other in that area where yo uget Jagged Bones. That place sucks royally.
MMSDome
I capped Energy Surge at Iron Mines and explored every inch of the map and killed everything and he was in the last spot -_-

FoC from maw indefinately.
But it was worth it seeing how we kept winning using the FoC curse spike.
The spell has to be one of the best necro spells in this game, but noone uses it because they can't get to maw :\
I've gotten their twice, and twice have I promised I'd never cap it again.

Any attempt to cap from an end-mission boss (like the fore-mentioned Markis with Barrage and The Drought with Sandstorm) is a pain if you don't do it just right (killing your target first without triggering end mission sequence). Luckily all of them have alternate bosses to cap from. Other than that, Maw was kind of a pain to get to - but pretty easy to kill.
I had a really hard time capping Jagged Bones, but the main reason was because I was an idiot and left town with 3 heroes that were all levels 13-15 (trying to level them via Wurms, decided to cap, dude is on rocky terrain and can't be in wurms to fight). That one really sucked, but there was a res shrine right nearby, so I just kept trying till they were all dead and we were at 60% DP. Fun, fun.
EDIT:
Ha! I was typing mine up when you posted this, so I didn't see it. So true, so true.

[skill]Feast of Corruption[/skill] isn't hard, it's just long. But I don't mind because I'm a big fan of Wurms (and Maw in particular) so capping there doesn't bother me
For me out of all Tyrian elites, the most annoying are the ones from the three missions. Especially the three dryder ones since they're not always there.
haven't bothered capping from Elona yet but the ones I have capped (the warrior ones and some of the other popular elites like SF and healer's boon) were quite easy. I simply went a hammer warrior and kept the boss on thier butt for most of the fight

You can't see me
I beleive that the hardest elites you will find are those capped from the Dryder's in Abbadon's mouth for these reasons.
~Half of them sometimes don't spawn
~When they do spawn, they vary a lot, so you have to try multiple times late in the mission
~A lot of human groups refuse to grant you this oppourtunity to go off the mission path to do this
But when it comes to saying "Well just do it with your guild" then anything is easy. And btw, capping skills coming from the luxon/kurzick side is not hard, because you have access to the complete area of both regardless if you have even bothered to completely finish the game.
There's no skill in this game that I would say is "Hard" to cap. You take a few heros, a fer henchman, bing, bang, boom, dead. Now, Order of Undeath (people saying the wrong thing made me think it was jagged bones for a second) took me a guildie with his heros and mine, but we did it without much difficulty. (Margonites are possible to kill outside the wurms you know.)
This easiness is due to the number of fansites and guides, not because the game is easy. Anything hard to do can become easy with guides and laid out instructions. Imagine how frustrating some parts of Urgoz Warren and the deep must have been before Guildwiki posted guides. I mean, sheesh.
But as for Maw the Mountain Heart, she is just a lucky spawn. You can zone, rezone dreadnought's as much as you like to get her to spawn. In Abbadon's mouth, it's different.

Also Mungri, with heroes..downed him in 5 minutes.

if I had to pick one I'd probably say Jagged Bones...gates of maddness is one of my least favorite areas in the game.

I did cap Jagged Bones, but I don't remember it being hard at all. Maybe you had an active quest down there with a ridiculous amount of torment spawns?
Oh yeah, and Mungri? Super-easy if you pull and aggro right. His actual group is pretty small, you just have to watch the patrols in that area. Once you get 2-3 groups on you, he can pretty much keep them all alive for a while, making it a pain. Even still, it ain't that bad. No worse than say, Josso Essher in Thirsty River or Josinq the Whisperer in Resplendent Makuun.
Hmm... I guess each game has it's own PITA monk boss.
Hyper Cutter
Most bosses in Tyria. Not because the bosses were hard, or the areas were hard, but because random boss spawns suck...
DreamRunner
Arneh the Vigorous
Maw
Random Spawn Bosses in Abbadons Mouth
Master of Misery
Consort of Ruin
Many prophecies skills such as the ones in Mineral springs, Frozen Forest and Snake Dance that are so damn annoying to get too because of the random selection.

Uhm..Let me think.
Anything in Mineral Spring..Always an annoyance.
Oh, and Perdition Rock in the pre-hero days.

DFrost
Mesmer's Construct - Sunjiang District (explorable). There's a furball of patrolling mobs around the boss and they all attack at the same time when trying to pull. Very annoying especially without heroes.

One of my least favorite memories skill capping was getting Flourish (I believe) in Mineral Springs. I had DDF so... Titans spawned. I cleared the whole god damned place with the titans and when I cleared, the boss wasn't even there and I couldn't believe it. My friend that was helping me left and after 30 minutes or running around.... I found the boss's dead body that didn't disappear (And I did not come by him because the fricking Titans killed him). .
Buster
Mungri Magicbox, Echovald Forest - (Boon Signet) Carries 1 other monk with him and roaming patrols throughout the area. Finally got it after 2 tries but it takes forever.
Onslaught of Terror, Nightfallen Jahai - (Onslaught) The dude just hits really hard. Wiped out my hero/hench group quite a few times before I capped it.

Zinger burger
order of undeath boss, he 'knows' how to really use his elite and got a few healers there, that res fallen mobs and your party supplies him his mobs lol.
An assassin guildy helped there, and was a peice of cake.
So it is really down to party composition. Random boss spawns are err interesting..maybe annoying.

Effendi Westland
Soul leech. Took me 8 tries before he spawned. Joined a pug and did mission+bonus each time I tried.
Ajantis
Shrouded Oni ranks pretty high up there

Mungri was a major PITA to cap with a monk and an all hero party (that was long before NF, mind you) - it took over 30 minutes of wrestling before he yielded (henches have always been weak on firepower). When I visited him recently with my ele who was going for the legendary skill hunter title, and a H+H party, he was a complete pushover, the entire mob wiped in less than 15 seconds
I initially capped Jagged Bones during a master level quest in Nightfallen Jahai, that was ... painful. Later I learned that there's a trivially easy way to cap the skill elsewhere.
I have always found Maw in Dreadnought's Drift and I though that it's a guaranteed spawn. All the three RoF rider bosses always spawn as well, you may only have to go an extra mile if the one you're looking for is not in front of the mursaat stronghold. There hasn't been any problem with HP either, I think that all the bosses can be found around the portals if not before. This leaves the dryders of Abaddon's Mouth the most annoying bosses of the entire lot. It's a long way to go just to find out that the one you're looking for is having a vacation

Even with a Migraine Mesmer and/or a BHA Ranger he has CoP to deal with it. Never been killed by him, but he takes forever to kill. Even without his elite on, his Orison seems to heal for a ton.

Hardest one I've come across so far is Moles Quibus in Hell's Precipice. Well, not so much hard as annoying. It wasn't so bad once the Panic was cleared up, but that was one of the few parts of the game that made me shout "Oh ****!" out loud.
Redfeather1975
For me it was Chazek Plague Herder, because I couldn't figure out how to get to him. I was wandering around Unwaking Waters getting really frustrated.
I even had alt held down most the time. I was so impatient and it got to me.

ValaOfTheFens
Either of the end bosses in Kodonur Crossroads. Even if you tell your group "I need to cap [insert elite here] so we gotta kill [insert boss name here] first." they always kill the other guy first and so you have to either try to solo it or go with another group and try again.
Emik
In my experience Onslaught was by far the worst.
Died 53 times trying to cap that one
