Gold drops nonexistant

Ok, two of my friends and I logged about 8 hours today...went through the entire Charr region, and part of the Asura. Throughout those 8 hours, in the 3/8 human party, there was not a single gold drop, until the last half hour, when one appeared.

That's right, an 8 man party, 3 of which were human, killing the majority of the enemies in each area, and getting a total of 1 gold drop in 8 hours (and no gold drops through the first 7.5 hours)

The chests were awful, but there were a few golds (we opened a LOT of chests, very few golds).

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Yup.

But then again my luck has always been, and always will be....terrible. xD


EDIT: Just to be clear, I used 10 lockpicks..some of them retaining multiple times...got one crap gold. Not even gonna bother wasting gold on lockpicks anymore...not worth it. -_-

yup, only got 1 gold from monsters and iwas non max, and chest, i dont even bother anymore, they always give me purple since the preview weekend, im pretty sure something is fked up with them.

Yeah, this really can't be a matter of 'bad luck'.

Only had one gold drop and it was a battle axe I think.

Heh I think I've had one gold drop *all H+H* 2 from chests. heh my best drop so far this and preview was a cool unique scythe skin, Razorclaw *gold* thats about it.

ever since the addition of hard mode, the purple to gold ratio of normal mode chests has been horrific. but actual gold drops through monsters has never been this bad.

I've completed GWEN on my warrior. I've gotten no gold drops from enemies, and I've gotten 3 gold from chests and I've opened every chest I've seen. It's horrible.

I totally agree - the drops are absolutely terrible. I only have one "new" weapon - a highlander blade and that is purple. As for chests - just don't bother - save your lockpicks!!

Gold drops really slowed down for me too.
Me and a friend cleared the area just before you get to Eye of the North outpost about 10 minutes after GW:EN going live. She got 5 golds (3 from chests) while i got my 3 from the chests too.
After that i got 10 purples from chests and subsequently stopped opening them and my friend's drop rate slowed down very badly too (4 golds ) out of about 20 chests.
It seems to me that the huge numbers going through the area and Norn point farming activated some sort of farm code (:-O

im near the end of gw:en and still not a single gold drop

I got five golds in Frostmaw's Burrows from enemies. I didn't open chests since I only had like 2k >.>

And I got a gold Dark Scimitar and a diamond from Frostmaw's Chest. Oh, and from the Sepulchre chest I got a gold Polymok piece.

I only spent some 6 hours playing last night, and 5 of those were in Frostmaw's Burrows. It's much more difficult than in the preview, and I made the mistake of bringing two heroes with untested builds >.>

EDIT: But I haven't noticed a change in gold drops compared to NF/Proph HM. However, I never really open chests, so that's probably why.

I found a gold shield....had a +10 vs fire mod, in the bottom of a volcano place, thought that was rather lucky myself.

I got 2 gold drops clearing the firey forest in southeast Sacnoth Valley just outside the catacombs of kathandrax, a golden machete and a rounded shield. thats all ive got aside from the occasional dungeon chest. the area was a pain but was worth it

i never had a gold drop in GWEN since the preveiw event..

So far other then the razorclaw the only really good drop I've gotten was Fenrir's Bastion the unique shield by the wolf outside hold.

Guess i'm a tad more lucky then you guys, req 9 sephis axe, req 9 Jagged reaver and req 11 Fiery blade axe dropped for me in GW:EN (along with some highlander blades)

Seems like I'm one of the luckier players, too - since the preview event, I've gotten more than ten gold drops, some of them quite good; my bf found an Elemental sword in the Asura region as well as a few other golds. He's gotten way more purples from chests than me, though, so it's probably really a matter of luck; but it seems to me like the gold droprates are way higher than in NF, which only got me a huge bunch of purples.

I love the inscribable drops.
But yea not many luck here aswell. I had I think two regular gold drops after finishing the game (a r9 max dmg Igneous maul --->merch food, and a r9 non max militia shield---also got merched).
Opened loads of locked chests about 15-20 gold, way too many grapes IMO. I think I got an orrish skin earth staff from the heart shiperpeaks chest, now that I think of it it might not be an obsidian staff. Does it say on the skin that its obsidian staff or is it the that determines it...
