No, you're not. There are obviously a few sets I don't like. The Warrior Monument armour really stands out for me as one of the worst sets in any of the games, but I'm sure there are people out there who like that too. But most of them, I happen to quite like.
Necromancers and Assassins are the big ones for me. I've never played as them for any real amount of time before, because I really dislike all of their armour. GW:EN however, adds in quite a few new sets for both that I really love.

I've never really understood that about opinions...
As far as I'm concerned the Necromancer armour throughout the three campaigns has remained the best in the entire game.... and the Assassin armour selection has also been particularly nifty (with a few exceptions)...
Oddly enough, I always thought it was the Monks and Mesmers that were seriously lacking... with Elementalists not far behind.
Since I haven't seen anything more of the GW:EN armour than leaked images from before release though, I'm probably not in a proper position to judge..... but from what I can tell the new Assassin and Necromancer armour looks ridiculously poor. Not nearly enough bones and eyeballs on the necro, and the assassin kit looks far too flashy.
Yeah...

Compared to the grind to get Vabbian or Obsidian armor, compared to maxing any of the titles in the game, compared to simply getting the 75k you need to buy any set of Elite/Ascended armor, getting 26,000 points for a title is seriously a pathetic grind. I'd like to know precisely what you people have been doing in this game for two years that somehow hasn't included a grind of some sort; and why you pick this grind to complain about over all the others.

I thought you were about to start complaining about how hideous all the hero armours are. Then I scrolled down and were complaining about how we dont get access to nice armours like the hero ones.
IMHO the hero armours are horrible just like players armours.

KANE Bad argument there.
The grinding is one thing. The reskin is another. It shows the lack of effect from Anet, which is disrespectful to players. We paid them for new content and they gave us recycle ones. I don't know how can u justify that. I am personally disgusted by the "new" armors, how anet mistreated us, i rather they make something ugly/awful (like some of the NF armors) than just reskin.
Armors and weapons actually mean a lot to many players, in fact i think it's the easiest way to keep players happy just some new items and ppl will be dying to get them. U can see that from so many ppl willing to farm and how far they are willing to go for these items, it's best demonstarted by the rise of whole new business - ebay pro-gold traders.
"You want nice stuff? Go earn it."
Yes i want nice stuff and i dont mind go earning it, but where's the nice stuff? There's nothing NEW that's nice, well to be exact there's nothing new. So yea there's nothing to get and that's why ppl are complainig. Because they thought they bought an expansion, but actually only half an expansion.
For 75% the price of NF, GWEN only has 30% of the content (which include the 2 professions, ARMORS, WEAPONS, much much bigger maps, new guild halls for gvg ... etc etc), don't understand why some ppl think it's a fair deal.
No wonder Anet make it difficult to get the armor in preview, because if ppl knew the "new" armors, weapons are just reskin i'm sure some wouldn't have bought GWEN in the 1st place.
**The good things about gwen are the scenes are beautiful and the mini-games are fun. The mini-games is a good step in the right direction, Anet should go towards that instead of keeping ppl in the game by encounage grinding, but of course that means they'll actually have to design something which is the exact thing they are trying to avoid.

indeed. Given that only skins distinguishes items, they better have spent time making sure they were unique, but they didn't. I wouldn't mind if they reskined the skins with some new stats variations, but they didn't do that either. All in all the content of GWEN does not justify in anyway the price of GWEN. I know some people will here will forgive them for anything and giving them a pass just because they're anet. Well excuse us realists for being upset that the bar being pushed down with the release of GWEN

I am kinda on the fence about the reskinned armor.
On the one side it is a cheap way for them to build new armor, but I do like the look of some of it.
As for the grind, the game hasn't been out for a week yet and people already have the armor....
I'm at lvl 4 on both the norn and asura title tracks and I've just done quest with no farming at all.
Give it a month and half of the people playing GW:EN will have maxed at least one if not all of the new titles.
Regarding the cost of the Choas gloves, yes 75ectos does seam high, however when you look at comprable items in game its quite fair.
Tormented Shield 100K + 60ecto = Chaos Gloves!

What you like, I might hate but that isnt the problem, the problem is there's no acceptance that you cant have everything you want and have it right NOW.
If all the armors had been different the whining would have been just as loud, I bet.

I was pissed off for a while about the armor and end-game weapons, but I got over it, once I realized that there was still a lot of content in the game. For starters, the story itself was good and tied together a fair amount of loose ends until GW2. It wasn't long, but it did the trick in terms of storytelling. And yes it was easy, but if you want a challenge then go into one of the dungeons. I do think the rewards for clearing the dungeons need to be increased to make them more worth while and they need to up the drop rate in general (I saw one gold drop the whole time I played through the story). There are new items however like glasses, bandannas, new hero armor, etc. which granted don't significantly enhance your character, but there is still a good amount of new content available and no one seems to be paying attention to it.
I can't validate the armor or weapon reskinning, but to be honest I have several greens for each of my character along with one or two sets of armor for each and I would imagine that even the most casual players should have at least one or two end-game items for their characters. Am I a little disappointed that the end-game weapons kind of bland and gray? Absolutely. But did it completely ruin the game beyond the point of no return? No. I just sold my key to someone who wanted it and then bought a weapon I liked, but couldn't afford before. Rough world, I know.
As far as the titles and the armor being tied together, I didn't see anywhere near the same amount of complaining about when you needed to get Lux/Kurz faction to continue on with the story in Faction or when you needed to get SS points to advance in NF. And that was mandatory to do, this is optional. Now someone is going to say "But if you did all the quests in Faction or NF, then you had all of the faction you needed, so there wasn't any grinding". Except the grind was "hidden" via a quest or mission (and I am sure there were times when people had to go out and kill enemies anyways to raise your rank because you didn't want to do the quests), but most of the quests were still that same old kill this or run this from A to B. More over, getting the Alliance skills was optional, but require that you grind in order to make them more effective. Why was there no anger for that? I guarantee people wouldn't be complaining so much if the drops were better and getting faction also meant getting a decent drop once and a while and like I said that should be fixed.
And I love how people are like "I am a causal player and I will pay 40k+materials+runes, but I don't want to spend a few days/weeks getting faction to buy elite armor. Granted I did grind through hours of GW to collect the gold and materials, and I played through loads of missions and quests, many of which were just kill this thing or that thing or run this item from A to B, to level my character and get to this point, but still I want my armor right away!"
It is just silly that people are complaining about optional grinding. If you want the armor because you like it and can afford it, then you have probably have gone through many hours of GW already, so much so that a few days of grinding are like a drop in the bucket. There are several ways to get faction for most of the titles (Quests, Polymock/Norn Tournament/Punchout, normal faction farming, and farming while going through the dungeons), so at least you can mix it up. And to be honest I finished the game as r3/4 for most of the titles, so if you play through the main story, there shouldn't be a ton of farming involved. Would it be nice if by the time you finished the game you have access to all of the armors? Sure. Again, is it the end of the world? No.
For those that don't want the armor because you don't like how it looks, then I really don't see what the problem is. Don't like the armor, then don't bother doing the titles, and buy a different set of armor you like with the money you have and go try a dungeon or do challenge mission. Again someone will say "But the armor should be totally new and not re-skinned and then I would like it and buy it (and complain about having to get faction)". Well what happens if Anet redoes the armor totally and you still don't like it? Will you still complain still? Probably. Everyone is complaining that there hero armor looks great, but our armor sucks. Have you been playing this game for 2 years? Even back in Prophecies, the henchies had nicer armor. Who is going to argue with me that Eve's armor isn't just as nice as, if not better, than any necromancer armor out there? Same with Cynn's armor. No outrage back then. This is nothing new people.
There is a ton of stuff to do in GW. I honestly feel like I play fair amount and there is still a ton of stuff I could do. And if you have spent so much time in GW that you really think that you have done it all and there is nothing left to do, then here's an idea: find another game to play or even better... go outside. Simple.
Sorry for the rant, but this all seems kind of idiotic to me so I needed to vent.

IMO, a mmo or co-op rpg is the wrong game genre for busy people with only an hour or two of playtime before more important duties need attention.
Show me one game where there is no grind to get good at it. Remember, the idea of grind is different for everyone. Some people enjoy mindlessly killing the same enemies over and over (diablo etc) while others play counterstrike or streetfighter (also a grind to get good except its in a very small map).
I'm loving the new title system to get the goodies. It weeds out the lazy pug leechers, wealthy ebayers and unskilled weirdos from a certain objectives. There is finally a process where you are forced to be efficient or at least competant at killing some monsters to gain access to certain items.

Meh.
You won't catch me complaining about the grind...
But I'm sick enough of the bad reskins that I'm considering trying my hand at retexturing stuff myself once I can be arsed to download the necessary stuff. I mean... since we are allowed to do it now provided we don't blame A-Net if things go wrong... it should work out fine.
If I do bother to reskin armour myself.... it will only show up differently on my own screen... but then I suppose I could offer the changes for download if I do a good job of it.
It be a pity I can't fiddle the meshes though... I wouldn't mind removing fiddly blades from a few of the Assassin kits. Then again... alpha-channelling could do that for me... possibly... ^_^

The more I think about this, the more confused I get. The only thing that makes sense is that they had like two different teams working on the player armors and hero armors. Most of the reskins are ungh (check out Asuran ele and assassin for examples), while the hero armors are unique, well done and eye-catching.
And someone different must've designed the universal armor pieces, since they're really well done. They need to give a full set to go with the Dragon gloves.

I like this high amount of bitching on this forum....it shows that there's alot of people upset with Anet for what they did and they'll be smart to fix the problems before the release of GW2, otherwise their stock is going to go in the shitter.

Actually it shows that there are a lot of players that care about the game. I am glad to see the comments and hope Anet listens as they have in the past. Your and my hope is the same, please don't do this in GW2, or, please tell us so we don't buy it and look for something else. I am willing to try the next release, but, if get burned again will not come back at all.

If I care enough to complain about it.... then I'll probably be back. And I will keep playing and keep b!tching about it.
If I lose interest in the game, I won't make a conscious decision to leave; I just won't feel the compulsion to play any more and will end up doing something else before I even realise that I've stopped.
It is that simple really.
And I imagine that you feel similarly.
If you still care enough to come here and complain about it.... then something still has your attention... and therefore can't all be wrong.
