We should be allowed to put our preorder weapons in the Hall of monuments. I would LOVE to show off my Chimeric Prism. I show off my chimeric prism whenever possible. lol *See Pic below*

If only they had a chimeric wand to go with it.

Seems ANet wants me to split the collection just like they want it for the Minipets. This is the reason I did not "customize" any of them so far, I just do not like this crap.

The Hall of Monuments is a tragic disappointment, and you can get as hot and bothered about it as you want, we expected more. Not really.
They added PvE titles, changed the armors so they are displayed on your character, and even made it so you don't need to have the helm that belongs to the elite set.
The thing with the statue in the background of monuments of honor's tapestry coming out when you got more titles, is pretty cool.
And I must say the Animal Companions statue looks cool as well.
Which makes me sure of that the dev's are working with valor, just takes some time to find a solution that pleases the majority of players.
Hopefully they can find a way to make the mini-pet customization account based. I think thats only fair towards the players that got a vault full of minis.
I got like only 1 mini-pet, so it wont benefit me, but I still think that those who are dedicated collecting these should be able to use them on all their accounts characters.
I even enjoyed visiting a guild m8s HoM, to see some of all the graphic work there has been made for all the different things that i don't have.
Some may say its e-peen, I say its art.
And that is why I would like to get something more from the monument of valor.

I wholeheartedly agree, and I think torment weapons (if no other kinds) should be allowed in the hom. They're obviously way better skins and more expensive than destroyer weapons. I drool over torment weapons but have no interest in destroyer ones, so I sell the diamonds and onyx gems as soon as I get them. Maybe some day I'll be able to afford a torment weapon

imo I feel any 'perfect' weapon (max dmg, max mods) be it collector, blue, purple, gold, or green should be add-able as every person has different tastes as to what they want in THEIR shrine. If the worry is about the unlock in GW2, just set it that any weapon entered gives the unlock feature.

My fiance feels only greens should be allowed in. Just his thoughts.

One of the biggest objection I've seen to something like this, as posted by my fellow players, is that these items are farmable or buyable. Someone states that only HoH items should be allowed. Hate to tell you but ANYTHING, pve or pvp, can be bought for the right price. Or farmed if you have infinite patience, so that really isn't a valid arguement in my book.

So like I said, just allow it all in. If you're proud of your collector staff, or that NF endgame green, so be it!

There is no way I am going to display the ugliest weapons in the game. The valor display is broken and needs to be fixed. I would display my perfect Storm bow.

Definition of a perfect weapon = Requirement of 9, Max Damage, Gold Item. Modification and inscription do not mater since this change depends on the player. I hate it when I see someone in trade saying WTS Perfect Gold Weapon q10 or higher (if you think it is a perfect you’re a noob or just trying to get a noob to buy it.)

OMG people, will you stop this! What difference does it make what weapons are "displayed" in the HoM! You won't be able to "use" them in GW2 anyway. When GW2 comes out you can start a "my favorite GW1 weapons" thread where you can post 28 pages of screenshots! That would be faster than taking people into your HoM to show them.

Wtf? Any Green is easily farmed with the most expensive one not selling for more than 55k plat and about 90% of them you can buy for 3k. Tormented weapons are for NF not EotN.

Destroyer weapons are high-end, costing at 75 plat a piece isn't cheap especially to those that want to fill the monument. Why complain about something that you don't even now what it's there for. I really doubt that you buying that r13 crystalline and putting it up in your hom will mean you get to start out with it in GW2.

In the end the monument was intended for EotN weapons not prophecies/factions/nf.

I cant say that the skins neither stats are any better then other perfect weapons throughout the game.
I even think there are loads of better skinned weapons with exactly the same stats, plus that they take as much to get.

This leads me to the point to ask why not...
A: Make some insanely detailed skins?
B: Add better stats?
C: Make the "Monument of Valor" able to take all perfect weapons?
In this big land of fairness we all live in, the weapons that go in the hall of monuments need to be accessable by all people, regardless of skill. If ArenaNet allowed Tormented weapons into the Hall anyone who doesn't have Elona would lose out on that chance. Destroyer Weapons are available at a crafter who is easy to get to, for materials which are readily available throughout the game through drops and chest drops. This ensures a certain degree of fairness within the Eye of the North expansion.

What makes them "high end"? Well, the fact that to buy the materials and craft the weapon currently costs ~80-90k, and ok, that might not be expensive by Tormented Weapon standards but to a casual player, this may take a few weeks/months of playtime. For those people, obtaining one of these weapons is an achievement.

I think your point about the skins/stats not being better than other weapons throughout the game certainly does not speak for everyone. I personally like some of the destroyer skins, and, as for the stats, well...what were you expecting? Some "uber pwnage" inscription that would totally unbalance the game?

Point C, about allowing the Monument to take any perfect weapon...no. Some people have obscene luck throughout the game, some don't have time to constantly chest run and farm, and of course, those same people will not be able to afford the awesome weapons from other players. This again breeds inequality. I know the game isn't totally fair...it's not possible to make it that way, but having every part of the HoM obtainable in the same way for every player makes it as fair as it can be.

To be honest it sounds like a load of crying because you'd need to buy a weapon you don't want to fill the Valor monument. If it means that much to you that it has weapons in it, you will...

I agree about the adding of other weapons....I would love to see my perfect oni blade on display. got it out of one of my first chests in factions in the jade area...came perfect out of a chest. took me a few minutes to belive it since i had never gotten anything worth keeping before that. But only destroyer weapons? come on....its not as if theres anything special about them compared to any other crafted weapon out there...just looks differant. Big woopie.

HoM in general, is, as many people have said before, one big hall of disappointments.

A-net should consider changing quite a few things about it(Valor being one of them).

Those people would be pissed to find out that they are screwed because they cant have the best stuff. Anet wants to make this equal for all gamers hardcore and the people who play 1 hour a week. If you dont want to get the destroyer weapons then dont. Its a game people get over it.

You can now begin flaming me because thats all you can do.

Have fun. I for one think the crystalline sword skin is up there with the destroyer sword skin, it's ugly, I don't want it. I personally like my Furious Dead Sword of Fort, Icy Shadow Blade of Fort, Vamp Undead Sword of Fort, Zealous Tengu Blade of Fort, & Crippling Gothic Sword of Fort, and as soon as I get one my Zodiac Blade that I will mod to my likeing. Those are what I want in my HoM. Do I care if someone who thinks crystalline is "1337" wants to put one in their HoM? No, if they want on in there, for all I care they can, but don't tell me I can't have what I want cause you look down your nose at them just becuase they wouldn't get you several million gold if you wanted to sell them.

Btw, how is having a crystalline sword giving someone an advantage in GW2?

/signed with so much fuss over torment when Domain of Anguish was released , its completely stupid of Anet not to include them into the HoM, they look better, cost more and are more difficult to get (completing the nightfall campaign compared to tip toeing out of the shiverpeaks and walking into a dungeon)

The inequality thing is rubbish, players should be rewarded for acomplishing things in other campaigns, it is us after all who spend the extra money and so should be rewarded for this.

I too agree that any gold or green weapon should be allowed on HoM. I mean why have all that space for weapons in the first place???

I also think that them being dedicated would be better but preferably be able to un-dedicate something or un-customise would be cool if you change your mind and want sell it. This naturally will remove them item from the HoM.

Let me first say that I see a lot of valid points on both sides of this argument. Some greens and other weapons can be simple to farm or buy. The destroyer weapon are not beater then any other max weapon. There are many good arguments made on this thread.

From my point of view the problem with the valor monument is the lack of customization. Let me compare it to the other monuments.

The Monument of Honor- Can display 5 titles. The guildwiki has a list of about 50 titles that can be displayed.

The Monument of Devotion- Can display 20 minipets there are some 45 or more minipets in the game.

The Monument of Resilience- Can display 5 sets of elite armor. Each class has at lest 8 for the Paragon and Dervish up to 17 for Warriors.

The Monument of Fellowship- Can display 5 heroes or pets. There are 25 heroes in the game.

The Monument of Valor- Can display 11 destroyer weapons. There are only 11 destroyer weapons in the game.

All the other Monuments to some degree can be customized. The monument of Valor is the same for every player. Imagine if the monument of resilience only allowed the armor form GW:EN. Or if the monument of honor only displayed the CoBD titles.

I know that a lot of people think that items put in the HoM will be useable in GW 2. I don’t think that is true. It is more likely that players with a full monument in there HoM will get something, but not the same thing.

I can't believe I went from a three-year lurker to registering, just because if I didn't post in this thread my head would explode!

AT NO POINT have Anet directly specified that the weapons put into the HoM will directly carry over to GW2.
For all we know any one of the following, or even something else could happen:

-GW2 chars inherit Destroyer weapons we added to HoM in EotN
-A new weapon set, say "ancestral weapons" or somesuch is added, with us inheriting a weapon appropriate to our profession from that
-It unlocks one single item, the same for everyone
-It allows players to choose from any one of a number of new items
-Players get more, or more choice, based on how many weapons they added
-any one of a million possibilities I did not list

WE SIMPLY DON'T KNOW

It wouldn't have been hard for Anet to allow us to display any green from an endgame collector, or maybe any EotN green, or just one or two weapons per campaign - Kanaxai/Mallyx/Heirophant etc. Maybe having one of each fo these types of weapon could unlock a "Tyrian Sword" "Canthan Sword" or "Elonian Sword" - "Of Legend"

There are any number of ways they could have approached the HoM, and any number of ways they COULD be approaching it.
They know people are unhappy with what they can display in it. I'm willing to bet they're working on making at least the GW2 functional aspect of it more pleasing to people.
