It is quite pathetic. It doesn't really affect me purely because my Ranger has a Black Widow, and has done for about 20+ months. But it really is quite lame that they couldn't even be bothered to do them all when what is on display is nothing beyond a stone version of the pet!
HoM is a complete failure. Pretty much everything about it is bollocks, from the randomised 'order titles' to the lack of pets.
Hall of Monuments pet statue?

I put mine in, and instead of Miss Piggy, who has gone through all 3 campaigns with me for coming up on a year and a half now, and she doesn't get her own statue. It's ridiculous
My sin, other warrior and rangers haven't gotten round to it yet, but I'm sure Akando, Blott, Ursa and Faolan all wish to be represented by their proper statue. (Dune Lizard, Stalker, Bear, Original Wolf)

Its not an achivment if its easy, so why should it be recognized in a statue? So if, for instance, I get all of my guildies to run me down to cap a black widow, and I stand in the back the whole way and try to stay our of harms way until the actual capping takes place, then this is an achievement worth showing off? But if I cap a lower level 'ordinary' pet and play with it enough to get it up from level 5 to level 20 that is not a worthy achievement?
I know that a lot of people worked very hard to get their spiders/black moas/phoenixes, but I know there are plenty of people our there that just bought their way to theirs, and the monument doesn't distinguish between the two...
Personally I don't give a Rot Wallows hind end if I get a bonus in GW2 from having a pet, or a certain pet, or whatever. I just think it would be a nice gesture on Anet's part to have an actual statue of the actual pet that you have, regardless of what it is.

I'm pretty sure it will still just be a regular "Animal Companion" statue with the wolf, bear, and lynx.

Black Moas and Spiders are really not that hard to get...
if it took you more time to get one of those, then it did to level up a pet, something is seriously wrong.
I'm just waiting to cap the Spider during the next free UW weekend.

Spiders can be 3 man trapped to. Phoenix requires beating the easy Factions campaign. The only one that's even remotely an 'achievement' is the Rainbow Phoenix, with the People Know Me requirement.
