Anyone noticing odd behaviour from Hero's *zhed*?

May be all or just Zhed, but I've been noticing in the last few days that there seems to be a new 'improvement' where flagging the NPC's and especially Zhed doesn't cancel their actions any more. I've been noticing this where Zhed runs off to agro a group nearby that flagging him back doesn't do anything, he sits there casts his spell THEN if he feels like it returns.

I've been REALLY noticing it on the centaur boss in Slavers Exile. I would camp on the hill just out of range of the boss to setup the fight, then move foward, but some tiems I get too close and Zhed decide to attack him. he move up a bit start casting a spell, I pull him back and WTF he stands there not moving and just casting the spells and stuff for like 10 seconds, using HIS flag, or all purpose flag does nothing he doesn't move a inch period he's like locked in place.

Last night in Drakkar Lake I noticed that my H+H party wouldn't follow me after a fight if a spirit of Symbiosis set up by the defeated modniir mob was still around. It didn't matter that the spirit was well outside the aggro range, all the heroes, henches and minions just stood there in a huddle twiddling their thumbs and refused to budge before I popped the spirit. And during certain quests, single heroes sometimes suddenly Leeroy into mobs that are way beyond the aggro range, despite being set to defense. Artificial stupidity?

Ive seen Zhed go out of his way in guard mode to agro out of range enough baddies to party wipe my group.

Yes, i have seen my share to hero leroying. Mostly from Zho and Herta.
Maybe good old "if ai decides to cast spell on you but you run out of aggro before they start casting they would follow you indefinitelly untill they get to spellcasting range" effects heroes now?
It was anoying when enemy ai did it, it no better when friendly one does it either.

I stopped using Zhed in Eye of the North in favour of defensive Paraway..... but I didn't notice any major issues when I WAS playing with him.

other day i was taking my monk thru the ice caves near beacons with all the ettins and i started attacking but instead of attacking with me my two warrior hench Stefan and Little thorn stopped and started doing the laughing emote?????? i had to flag them beside the enemy to get them to attack!

I'm sure these AI problems are just issues that have always been around, but just never became quite as prominent before because up until recently the Hero AI was designed to deal with environments and enemies in the first three campaigns. It wasn't made to deal with the new content....

I've seen this happen, occasionally, to Zhed and Acolyte Sousuke (cause that's who I use, mostly). Not usually, but sometimes >.<

well, i've seen my olias coming to melee range to BR me (warrior) and then continue wanding untill mobs smashed him to death, while beeing flagged 1 aggro bouble away. but i got used to crap like that. hench/hero AI is stupid. you just need to learn how to overcome this. I found my way ^^ (get him stuck behind a rock )

Well, we had olias as SV necro in duncan, we flagged him to corner and had prots and locked him to duncan, and IN PASSIVE mode, we self clicked to cast SV etc skills we wanted. But still he somehow started to run to stairs and got really owned...

Zhedd for me has always been a poobarb.
I don't even know what poobarb is supposed to mean, but it sounded appropriate.
He even tried to aggro the desolation before we get into our jujundu things.

Actually heroes' AI is awful. They tend to stop near a spirit doing nothing and stop moving, because you d'ont want to fight it. They don't focus on the target you designed. They kite and/or move anywhere and everywhere in battle.

I have to say that I have noticed this too. Before Gwen came out, I spent alot of time skill hunting with just H+H, and then i started Gwen using the same team setup.
With one of the updates last week in particular, the instances of caster heros running to melee range to cast something like meteor shower have increased ten fold.
They are also unresponsive, and i have noticed the same thing about refusing to move when they are in range of simbiosis - maybe they dont want to lose the health boost :P
They do also refuse to break aggro, even if i flag them back from battle, they stand there casting spells and dying instead of following the flag.
Something else i noticed is that Master randomly refuses to follow my target calls when he has minions - he just stands there with them all around him while i have to fight on my own :/

Another thing i almost forgot, neither monk hench or hero hench will heal a party member if only one of your party is taking damage - making it kinda hard to tank.
I only notice this when LoD is the elite - even though they have orison and other such spells on their bar.
They also seem to have stopped running out of aoe damage - ive lost count the number of times they've stood in maelstrom's, and al you can hear is; click, click, click, click, argh!, dead.
They need fixing to be honest.

Menhlo has huge issues with Vigorous Spirit.
Often casting it on ally with about 10% of life. He obviously has 5e to cast spell ... yet he choses it over orison/dwayas, LOD.
Sigh.

Try this. Flag your party and move away until they are on the edge of the mini map. Then release the flag. The AI makes them loose you! They scatter in all directions looking for you and take hours before they all find their way back to you. Funny; but not if your a warrior trying to tank by solo agroing monsterpartys with backup always arriving late.

This is why i hate it most too - before Gwen i could happily tank with my warrior knowing that my monks would stay back and heal me. Now they either run forward next to me despite being flagged, or start tunning around pointlessly and not healing me

The hero AI does seem to be broken in general.
Mind you flagging never seemed to worked correctly ever. Unless you flag waaaaay back, the heros will always attack anything near them. Even if they are flagged to Avoid Battle stance.

the only problem ive seen is with Olias, he cant seem to get the lead out of his pants. he cant seem to keep up with the rest of the party, he is not making minions he just doesnt frigging move. after i kill a group and move to the next he is only ever half the way to the next group when i and the rest of the party are already fighting them.

Flagging never been perfect, I mean I've had the boomerang effect where I have to keep flagging back to keep zhed and my mages from attacking the boss I'm trying to pull too soon. But they've never had a problem till last few days of NOT moving when I flag. Some may get caught by enemies and unable to move cause they are boxed in. but never had them outright refuse to move when there is nothing between me and them and I'm 3 feet back.
One thing I've seen is that the AI seems to be designed for one build and one build only. I was trying out a Barrageassin with Zemani *thought I try that new skill that gives 35% critical bonus when using non dagger weapon* and 90% of the time Zemani STILL ran up before using the skill.
Plus there is the whole, problem of refusing to use AOE attack spells if only a single target, wich really sucks if your facing something like a monk boss where normal attacks just arn't going to cut it.
Another thing I've noticed, though this has been around since Factions, that Henchmen and now H+H seem to have a lobotomy program if your doing a repeatable quest. Like trying to get 100k faction handed in for my Kurzick skill, and doing the house battles over and over, I noticed that every 4-5 attempts they would randomly just die instantly. I be facing houss I killed 10 times, but I would have a party wipe *at 0DP* in the first 5 seconds.

I never bring Zhed, but I've seen him run off despite multiple flagging attempts when playing with others...
In Nightfall. As far as I knew, Zhed's been running off aggroing everything way before GW:EN came out.
I have had other problems with Heroes ever since the Preview weekend but Zhed's ALWAYS been like this whenever I see him...

There've been multiple threads about it, but yes, H/H AI is on holiday. I was doing a dungeon last night, for example, and they wouldn't even move out of an AoE attack. On several occasions they all stood there, in a nice tight little group and died. All my heroes were up to 60% DP in no time while I had none. This is just the latest of multiple examples. Please, Anet, please fix the AI!!!!

Sigh. mhenlo is a huge issue! he is and always as far as I know been retardedly dumb! nothing is going to change about that...he is by-far the worst monk hench available, if there is an alternative monk hench i'll take them...even if they have lesser-bars their AI is somewhat superior to mhenlo.

Zhed running off and agroing is nothing new, him not STOPPING it is, normally I could pull him back and at the least he come back before trying to agro again. Now he refuses to move untill he's pissed off the enemies.
