Autumn: the year breathes dully towards its death,

RULES:
- While I cannot enforce rules directly, I ask that they be followed to help maintain order and make the event fun for all.
- Be courteous to others. This means don’t spam emotes, spam public/trade chat, don’t troll, and don’t call people names.
- Use public chat for open discussion, but reserve trade chat for staff members of the event. I have no way of controlling this, but the event will be much more fun if you just keep trade chat for myself and my staff. It makes the event run much smoother, and things will get done faster, resulting in more prizes being given out.
- Don’t hassle staff for answers to questions. I cannot stress this enough. Most of the staff don’t know the answers, and those that do know are not about to give out the information. Play fair and earn your prize just like everyone else will hopefully be doing.
- Get drunk and stay drunk. Oktoberfest is all about fall, falling down that is. It is a giant drinking festival, known for great beer, great food, and fun times.
- Have fun and create a positive, fun environment for those around you. If you come to the event in a bad mood, you will only brings others down. Cheer up, have some fun with myself and the staff, and show the community how to party.
Organization:
- Araliuns Sun controls the event. He coordinate with my staff via trade chat and ventrilo. Please be respectful of him, and understand if he cannot answer your question at the drop of a stick. He will be quite busy keeping the steam train that is Oktoberfest rolling. He do not wish to ignore anyone and would like to give all my guests all of his undivided attention, but sometimes, it just has to wait for the greater picture. Spamming him will get us nowhere, and if he receives too many PMs, he will have to go to “Do Not Disturb”, which he would rather avoid.
- Specific [LaZy] members will be acting as leaders of the event, and will be stationed in other districts. Rather than leaving a district and attempting to get back in, Araliuns Sun will be stationed in ID1 and my co-leaders will be stationed in the other districts as needed. They will have the same authority (if you can call it that) as Araliuns Sun does, and he would ask that you listen to them. Their names will be posted below in an extensive listing of staff.
- Other staff members will be listed below, and will serve many different purposes. Please show them respect and dignity, they are doing their best to make the event more fun for you. Do not spam them, hassle them, or in any way discriminate against them.
Activities planned for Oktoberfest 07’
- Quiz Questions
These come in 3 Different categories:
A). Groupers (A three part question will be asked consisting of NUMERICAL ONLY answers. Your answer must be typed with ALL THREE numbers in the same line. [EXAMPLE: What is 2+2, 8+7, 4+4? Answer = 4, 15, 8])
B). Jeopardy (3-4 Topics will be given. A random person from the crowd will be chosen to select one of the topics. An phrase will be stated, and you must answer in the form of a question [EXAMPLE: Statement: “The endgame Boss of Nightfall.” Answer= “Who is Abaddon?”]) NOTE: You must have a question mark (?) at the end of your question based answer, and you must use correct English ((NOT What is Abaddon? WHO is Abaddon? is the correct form. ))
C). Bullets (Fast paced single answer questions, first to answer wins) - Costume Contest, Fall Style
First and foremost, what happened with the last costume contest WILL NOT happen this time! The costume contest will take place at the Citadel of Immortals Guild Hall PRIOR to the actual Oktoberfest starting. This is to prevent confusion of contestants, judges, and myself. The top 10 contestants will win prize packages, the other 40 contestants will receive a participation prize. There are no losers in this contest. The THEME for this contest is FALL/AUTUMN. You will need to come up with a fun, unique costume using what armor/armors you have currently. Holiday helms are welcomed. Colors should be oriented towards that of Autumn/Fall, and you will need to describe to the judges the inspiration and meaning of your outfit.
Scores will be out of 60 points, 15 points per category. Categories are as follows:
A). Coloration B). Uniqueness
C). Meaning D). Inspiration - The Oktoberfest Scavenger Hunt
As with all of my previous events, we must have the Scavenger Hunt. This Scavenger Hunt will be different from any that you may have previously been in. This scavenger hunt will not rely on having a fast internet connection, any farming, or an amazing PC to quickly load zones. Rather, this Scavenger Hunt will require you to use your brains to solve a complex riddle based on the Guild Wars lore.
Now, for the fun stuff! I (Lord Sojar) have been developing some interesting events based on feedback from the planning threads on GuildWarsOnline Forums and GuildWarsGuru Forums. Results are quite nice, and these events have been play tested significantly to ensure they go over without a major glitch. - Title Wars
Rather simple one, but highly effective contest. A specific title track will be called for. The highest ranked individual will receive a random prize. In the case of a tie, we will have a Rock, Paper, Scissors showdown. - Form Wars!
While the title of this event may come across sounding like some kind of Polymock or Pokemon contest, I assure you it isn’t. This event will be group based. You will need to form into groups of 8 people. A theme will be given, and each group of 8 must form into a design relating to that theme. [EXAMPLE: Valentine’s Day, your group forms a dancing heart] Each District Head will then judge each formation, awarding the winning formation group a prize. Each member of the group will receive the same prize.
DONATIONS:
Starting on September 20th, 2007, [LaZy] will be accepting public donations. Below is a list of what we really need for the event. The list is in order of importance. If you plan to donate, many many thanks to you in advance. Some donations will be rejected at a certain point. However, know that if your donation is rejected at some point, it is not because you are donating something meaningless or unwanted. Storage space is limited. We are so grateful for your attempt, and so we ask something of you if we are forced to reject your donation based on storage issues. PLEASE, PLEASE hand out the items that you wished to donate at Oktoberfest to others. Also, if we reject your donation, please drop us an email [email protected], stating what items you wanted to donate, and Araliuns Sun will try and arrange another Co-Leader to take the items to be given out during the event.
So, without further delay, here is a list of the items we require for Oktoberfest, in order of importance, 1 being most relevant, last being least relevant.
- Dwarven Ale, Aged Dwarven Ale, Hunter’s Ale, Spiked Eggnog, Rice Wine, Eggnog, Juniberry Gin, Vabbian Wine, Witch’s Brew, Vials of Absinthe.
- Snowman Summoners, Fireworks (all types), Ghost-in-the-Boxes
- Birthday Cupcakes, Honeycombs, Golden Eggs, Mandragor Root Cake, Candy Ccanes (all types), Crème Brûlée, Fruitcake, Red Bean Cakes, Chocolate Bunnies.
- Raw Gold/Platinum (used to buy more ale and other assorted goodies)
- Consumables (creatable in Eye of the North from each faction)
- Rare materials (Ectos, shards, diamonds, onyx gemstones, rubies, sapphires)
- Greens and Inscribable Golds
- Tomes (Elite and Non Elite from any class)
- Commonly used Insignias and Runes
- Weapon Mods
