I lol'd pretty hard at this one.

But my suggestion would be just to make a proph only option, I enjoyed that the most, pvp and pve wise.

Oh, and stop ignoring people that give you suggestions like you wanted Izzy.

For GW2 to even be remotely successful, Anet has to keep people interested in GW. They really need to listen to the players. Yeah, there are a lot of lame ideas out there and some people just want to bitch about everything. But a lot of our ideas and stuff we complain about (i.e. H/H AI since GW:EN) are legitimate. Anet really needs to keep the door open to their fans. Without us, they wouldn’t still be here.

The general impression is that Anet is riding out GW until GW2 is published. Well, if I lose interest in GW I won’t be coming back to GW2.

I agree that Anet's support for GW1 during the next year or two is going to have a significant effect on people's interest in GW2. I'm not at all willing to jump to the "riding out GW until GW2" conclusion yet, though. Anet's gone quiet before and still come through for us. For the next while, anyway, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. If they actually don't continue to support the game... well we'll burn that bridge when we get to it.

That statement is Just wrong on so many levels. True I will say that Pugs are not that great... but the reason they are not so great is because people do not take the time and effort to play with each other anymore. thats the point. They rage quit and go do it with heroes 50 times till they get what they want...

The point is not total removal of henchmen. no. the point was that we need to get back to the Cooperative roots of playing together in groups again. thats why the loot is poor for some people, thats why its hard to find others to play with outside of guilds and alliances, thats why Alliances are so discriminatory anymore on whom they allow in and whom the refuse.

Basically what chance does a new player really have to find people to play with when all anyone wants to do is go around single player with heroes and henchmen? So the mentality becomes what you said above. And its just untrue. Every single time I have organized a full player party its been rewarding. even for the ones that are not on TS and only in chat... True. they discover mistakes at times... they learn real quick not to rush into a mob if the casters are not E-gen back up and ready... Pulling techniques are learned and passed on to new players...

In the end once players learn to watch whats going on in PUGS they become better players... Sometimes a new player is just not going to lead the group. they will have to follow someone more experienced for a while and see whats going on...

All I am saying is... If you want a single player game with ZERO interaction between players except to exploit them for more gold then your entitled too for a rare drop. Well then we might as well just take the game completly offline and make it all local played. But come on. How boring is that? Really? Might as well go back to playing Diablo.

Considering most would rather pull their eyelids off than take a pug into doa or any area that requires teamwork and IQs above 70 ... think it is safe to say your experience is not the norm. After 28 months I don't find babysitting ill mannered children a plus when repeating the same content over and over. If you do .. great you will have no trouble finding a vast group of people that may or may not be willing to learn how to do something that was mastered 2 years ago. 3 hours into a full doa run and had a PUG need to go nite nite shame he took necrotic with him. One of a million examples why heroes are in the game and should remain.

Getting people to pug will not breath new life into guild wars. Anet needs to rethink their position on many things. Throw over powered items into the pve side GIVE people a reason to play past the 10 hours needed to beat the game. So what if mr.casual never gets the uber sword of doom ... it isnt needed to beat the game. But it might help hold a few more peoples interest in grinding out the same recycled stuff month after month. Yes, more than 8000 hours played here so I have had more than my fair share of wonderful pug experiences.

Commercial thinking would tell you that we have built in obsolescence.... must let this game go to trash to motivate everyone to keep buying what comes next. Enjoy the GW2 hype and craze idiocy to come...

bring back the good farming.

many people love to farm. they screwed that up royally. i understand the reason for changing it, but it was a poor decision nonetheless.

not that it's impossible now, its just not what it used to be.

What it needs is:

Anet temporarily shutting the servers down to give the whiners Time Out.
