Otherwise, all the people who are fed up with it (just because most people aren't on guru doesn't mean they aren't pissed off at GWEN's complete lack of attention to detail, lack of truly new material, and utterly laughable gameplay mechanics) will refuse to put any more of their money into the pockets of NCSoft and Anet.

Dwaven uses Canthan boots, Elite Luxon leggings, and what looks like a new chest piece but is really a heavily modified Ancient

It makes me laugh at how many people are content with reskins and incomplete facets of this expansion. I'll be willing to bet all the people who say "stop bitching, it's fine" didn't pay for their copy...they got it as gifts or their mommy and daddy bought it for them with their money.

I paid $40 usd for this expansion, I want my money's worth.

Insinuating that people who are opposite of your opinions are little kids who dont deserve an opinion doesn't bring any further merit or value to your argument. All it does is make you a troll.

I didn't "insinuate" anything...I proposed a theory. Whether that theory is sound or not is none of your concern. If you do not fit the bill, then it's not a completely 100% accurate theory. But if you do fit the bill...you know it and are merely trying to save face.

I also never said they don't deserve an opinion...I'm saying their opinions are influenced by different experiences. They got their new heroes, new weapons, and new titles to grind and didn't pay for any of it. that's a win in anyone's book. But when they start paying for their games, i'll be damn certain they'll start bitching about the easily fixed issues that the developer is just ignoring BECAUSE THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN.

@ the OP its a good guide. Excellent post. As Lyra and a few others pointed out, its not totally complete, but it is pretty nice as it sums up a lot of the complaints from reccent posts.

Irrelevant to the discussion? The discussion is about reskinned armors and them being "good enough" for some players, but not for others. The ones who they're good enough for are telling the players who actually wanted unique, new material for their money to stop bitching...which is more inflammatory than my theory about the reasons for their position. If someone paid for their game and it turned out that every armor set that wasn't in the $5 preview event was a reskin(yay for covering up their fallacies with one line of truly new armor to get people to pay full price, expecting all the armor sets to be unique), and they found out the expansion is nothing more than a money/time sink with a short story, subpar level of bonus material, etc. they have every right to complain about it. If you bought a shirt and it started unraveling the second day, although the stitching looked fine when you bought it, you'd bitch about it. What would you do if someone who didn't pay for their shirt came up to you and said "stop bitching"?

Ah I see the light now and yes the Monument gloves/boots are carbon copies of fow armor good find, that is sad, glad I did not spend money on fow armor very poor job indeed.

Remembering a part of the game that killed me away from GW is not a good thing. I was on here since all the armor pics were released and complained because i was very dissappointed. I dont want to post how bad Anet dropped the ball on this one again. This may be a post about reskins and which ones are which, but i think it can be closed and still serve its purpose.

The discussion, as the OP started, is a gallery or guide to the armors of GW:EN.

My posts have been relevant in that I am posting information to further the OP, with which armors are reskins of which, and what is missing from the information.

Wether or not its worth the MONEY or if its good enough is irrelevant is not the topic of the thread. So stay on topic.

They're brothers. Kin. directly related. It's a simple concept: you pay for a game expecting content and all we got was stuff we already have access to, albeit with a few minor changes here or there, that really don't impress many people too much.

I like the asuran glasses. They're kinda subtle but they make my Rit look even more FRIGGIN HOT.

aside from that and the other 'functional festival hats' (afa I'm concerned) the armor in GW:EN makes me kind of...

Anytime anyone claims to speak for or about EVERYONE in 99.999% of situations, is going to epically fail in their assumption. The only exception I can think of offhand is that, one day, we will all most certainly die. That is the ONLY current certainty in human existence.

I bought two copies of GW:EN... One for myself and one for my son. As far as I'm concerned, I MORE than got my money's worth out of the expansion. So your assumption that anyone that isn't bitching like you are had to have gotten the game for free is COMPLETELY ludicrous and quite frankly insulting to a lot of people. So I hope you didn't bet much

Could the armor selection have been better? Absolutely! But that could be said of EVERY chapter before GW:EN. The only thing I've wanted for my mesmer was a pair of sunglasses. Probably the same for my necro. I'll decide on my other class characters as they pass through GW:EN, just as I have done with every single chapter any of then have been through.

Just because you and others see the GW:EN armors as an epic failure on Anet's part, doesn't mean EVERYONE does. While I realize that some people might have bought the game JUST for the armor, for many of us, armor is only one small part of the game. I personally am enjoying the hell out of the expansion, despite the OMFG!! All teh armors r teh RESKIN!!!

I'd be willing to bet that there are at least as many people that like the expansion and feel they didn't get ripped off as there are people all up in arms over the armor.

Now if you want to make bets, go ahead and bet on whether ANET is going to "fix" the reskinned armor.. I'd have to go with NO. They might eventually throw in a new set for us, might do something so that you can put either Deldrimor "sets" or just mixed sets of Elite pieces in the HoM, but are not going to be redoing anything already in game.

Some may ask why not. Well simply put, because there are plenty of people that actually love the way the new armors look, reskinned or not, and have already bought it. So what we have right now with the new armor will be staying regarless of what else they might do.

Wow, it's amazing what happens when you leave for a few hours to work on your survivor character.

Guys, this is NOT a topic to argue of GW:EN. This is an armor comparison. And yes, I will be updating this as things go along.

There are countless threads "discussing" the extent of the armors being reskinned. We don't need another half-assed thread with all of 2 (?) armors being looked at for each class. If someone wanted to make a complete list showing exactly what came from what, it would be a wonderful addition to the Community Works section.

I'd rather people just learned to look at wiki where it has pictures of EVERY armor for a profession on a single page. You'd have to be an idiot not to be able to determine reskins then. :|
