Sardelac Sanitarium Being Un Responded to By Anet
freaky naughty
Sardelac Sanitarium was a great thing but now that Anet announced that it would no longer add features, and just fix bugs, that most ideas will go on heard but not responded to?
I just wanna hear what you guys think. I love the Sanitarium but we're really just coming up with great ideas that probably won't be implemented since Anet already planned the death of good ole GW1.
The only things that will be done are the fixing of bugs and problems of that sort.

I can't even remember the last time ANet responded to the Sad. Sanitarium...Have they ever?
And hey, you never know: we might just get some new explorable content in the coming months. Have faith. If not, then I'll see you on Team Fortress 2, bitches! (until I get bored with that, too)

I believe that the whole weapon/item template system came from there, as well as all of its improvements, such as ability to send to chat, and all other conveniences.
There were plenty of others, plenty of small UI tweaks, various content additions, but since the talk of them died so quickly after they were implemented, it's hard for to confirm which exactly they were.
The time between proposal and implementation also wasn't instant.

ArenaNet cannot legally respond to posts in the Sardelac Sanitarium.
It's all about the copyright issues.

Yeah Zinger that's true but they could, gee I dunno be inspired by some noobs rants and add some cool content maybe? They can't legally respond but they can get a few good ideas. What I meant is that you see a lot of great ideas but now that Anet is too busy on GW 2 and are just fixing bugs that all these ideas are kinda wasted because even if they were widely agreed with Anet probably wouldn't implement them, like they would've around Factions or Nightfall era.
Winterclaw
Awhile back someone said that the Sard was pretty much a place for people to offload their ideas so it wouldn't clutter up the rest of the boards. It's also difficult to impossible to varify if Anet ever considered what's posted on it all that much.
Horseman Of War
I feel bad for the Anet employee that actually does have to read all those posts.
Winterclaw
Somehow I strongly doubt that all of the posts or threads in there get read.
freaky naughty
Gaile's responded to Riverside Inn posts why wouldnt she took a look at a few sard posts? They wouldn't read all of them that's for sure but it doesn't mean it goes completely unread
Captain Gerome
If anything Anet should get many of their ideas from Sardelac Sanitarium on a more regular basis from these forums and others like it. Some of the armours and mods people have made with Textmod are really making Anet look a bunch of amateurs.
??Ripskin
I'd rather they work on gw2, in all honesty.
Roshi_ikkyu
Sardelac Sanitarium in the mental hospital of Guru, you kow what else has been missing from Sardelac Sanitarium lately...great ideas.
But yeah its about copyright, anytime a new feature is released some forum member goes on a rampage about how they stole his(sic) idea.

Well if they post it on a Gw fansite you might as well expect the person to want Anet to read about it
HawkofStorms
Well, a fansite is never meant to "inform the game developers." I mean, really this forum is meant for our own entertainment and ego. Its great that Galie reads certain threads every so often. Just don't get spoiled and expect it.

This is the vehicle they are using to overcome having to officially accept a suggestion. I am quite sure that they read it, perhaps even now, as they'd want suggestions for GW2 as well.
They might just implement 1% of the suggestions, or something. The rest might well be crap, not what they are focusing on, against their company agenda, or just technically hard to implement. GG to those with great suggestions though.
HawkofStorms
That automated response to post on a fansite is a.net's way to get you off thier back.
But really, a.net HAS implemented a lot of things that were suggested in the Sardelaic board. Its just MOST of the suggestions are crap that a.net would never implement or stuff like an auction house that would be difficult to code. Its just the number of examples (/favor command, an anti-leaver system, etc) are far outwaighed by the number of examples of "skill suggestion: for 30 seconds you can not die and deal 50% more damage."

besides most of the ideas posted in there are useless, and a lot of them are opposites of each other, so it almost doesn't matter what Anet thinks about doing, chances are it was posted there, or on other forums like this.

It's to be hoped that someone takes notice of the posts because the only reason we post here "I am assuming" is that they asked us to.
Click on contact us on their website and they request us to use forums, which they say are read daily.
Of course read daily may not indicate any of their employees do the reading and even if they do it says they "read" doesnt say they act on what they read.
We should all know soon enough, if there is no comment from them about the magazine/minipet threads.

The Asuran Sunglasses for example was a suggestion in Sardelaic. Coincidence? Probablly. But hey, you saw it here first!
Mad King Corn
Where/when has anet said that there will be no new content for GW?

It already takes them long enough to finish anything, it seems, let's not delay them asking them to implement things like...the "/lean" emote.
Yellow_lid
I'm with Mad King Corn on this one... Where did A-net say they weren't working on new content?
Gregslot
If i know a.net staff, they will allways have something to add.
Just like when they made Nightfall, Domain of Anguish was supposed to be implemented with Nigthfall, but they waited a few months to add it so they could keep the player comunity and attract some more with the idea of "self-expanding" game.
They did it with Prophecies (Sorrow's Furnace and the Titan Quests), but they didint do it with Factions because they were working on Nightfall already.
But thats how I would do it =)

Anet SHOULD skip this entire section, it's 99.99% full of useless suggestions that usually come from people whining how they suck at the game.
the only one that they pay attention to are the ones they already know, like auction house etc etc < not that it's coming but still

Synonyms for Sanitarium: bedlam, bughouse, funny farm, laughing academy, loony bin, lunatic asylum, madhouse, mental health institution, mental home, mental hospital, mental institution, nuthouse, padded cell, psychiatric hospital, psychiatric ward, rubber room, sanatorium, sanitarium, snake pit
Maybe if it had another name it would be taken more seriously, lol.

Unfortunatly the name cannot be altered
It had to be called Sardelac Sanitarium its in clause 3 of the original contract
Just above the sanity clause
pauses to await a marks brothers fan to give the punchline

Two things I can think of offhand:
Before Factions, there was quite a lot of demand for a rogue-type 'light melee' profession. We got the Assassin.
Before Nightfall, there were a lot of threads flying around asking for a bard or similar shout-based 'singing' profession. We got the Paragon.
It may be circumstancial evidence, but it does imply that ANet was paying at least some attention to what people were asking for.

Better HM, attribute sharing classes, shared guild storage, better guild management, alliance rosters, title management, hero management, a whole BUNCH of ideas regarding stuff they could sell in the online store *from cute char toys, mugs, to bonus mission packs and "exclusive" minipets that you would HAVE to pay for anyways since you buy the mag), better guild officer management, better GH customization, Armour Storage, Pet kennels, post creation character re-customization, better friends list, larger ignore list., AUCTION HOUSE....
Im sorry if you find these ideas AND MORE "looney" you clearly have not read them through properly, people may disagree with them but they certainly are not "crazytalk".
yes there is a lot of faf in SS but simply disregarding the whole forum as a madhouse is not doing YOU any favours.

Gaile Gray
We still appreciate suggestions, even if we are moving to a new game. A good suggestion is a good suggestion, whether it was intended to apply to GW or GW2. So please don't hesitate to continue to share your thoughts, dreams, and visions for the future of Guild Wars.

i personally would love it, to see gaile more often in the Sardelac section, and when she posts only then there things like
"Hmm, this sounds like a very nice idea, I'll talk with the Devs about it, see, what they will think of ...."
or something ..anything like this... that lets people at least know, that the idea got read by anyone, who works for Anet, giving the Thread Start somehow at least the "Hope" that something will happen in future
I can remember me at least, that I posted on a german forum an idea about implementing the Feature to GW, for a real Wedding System, ya know ?
Real wedding with church and so on... to increase the RPG flair of the game and to impement maybe even some funny wedding skills that can use only married characters, when they are together in a party and wear their wedding rings in inventory or so...
Then 2 days later, i saw, that Gaile were taling about Weddings and that the finds the Idea real nice .. that was the first time, where i really believed.
"Oh, wow, they really get somehow on the idea, we write in forums, there must be really someone, who reads all our stuff and brings the good ideas to the Dev#s and Gaile, which can then talk about it to us ingame and respond to it"
This feeling I'm missing for long time now, I'm long enough now in this forum, theoretically registered only, because Gaile answers here *more or less randomly T.T* and then I had seen until now, none Suggestion thread in Sardelac, where she made at least an little answer, or posted something, what she personally thinks about the ideas of us and if it is maybe possible, that we might see something like our idea someday ingame ...
