By not taking Earth or Wind Prayers, a Dervish can potentially sidespec into Tactics and do the party-support role you're claiming to do better than you can (sure, they don't get runes, but I'd guess most people only use a minor for Tactics and put their headgear and any bigger runes in their headgear anyway). I've also heard of - but haven't personally experimented with - things like orders dervishes.

So, even if you completely discount the party-friendly abilities on the Dervish's own line, the nature of the profession means that it can do a good job of borrowing other professions' party support and being a team player that way. That's assuming that they aren't, you know, better off just killing things. i totally agree, but i was mainly talking about primaries. the only other thing is that most pve shouters use triple chop/cyc (for axe) or d-slash variants, meaning way more adren than a derv regardless, plus higher specs for the shouts, but i still totally agree and understand

i hardly call expressing my personal opinions based off of my in game experience "bashing" anything, especially when i participate in the playing of said subject. at most, the only negative thing i said was that i personally feel as though the class offers little to no full team utility/support roles, past a few sub-par healing skills. you might just be a little too defensive....

this thread is way past done.
