Yes, because we all know how great a game Linux turned out to be -- Oh, wait...

Even if you could compare Linux with a video game, to quote you, "Look at Linux." There are thousands of variations of it. I think you could call that a mess. And with Linux, if someone doesn't like something about it, they just make their own flavor of it. You can't do that with a competitive game that must be the same for thousands or millions of players.

Guys, it is still up to the developers if they listen to anyone here at all.

I am also quite confident they get quite a lot of silly ideas that they will implement that were not suggested by the community... nor implement any retarded idea of guru posters either. :>

I have no doubt all the weekend events will still continue. Perhaps a small addition to the game might come around (but I doubt it), but I think it all depends on the $. If GW1 continues to sell, it will likely be around for several more years after GW2. Of course, at some point, enough will be enough and supporting old code will be not so good. GW1 will burn! Gwen will go psycho and that will be that.

See you in the Mists!

I want the final event in GW1 to be rotscale appearing in all the major cities, and everyone being able to try and fight him off.

Silly idea, yeah, but it would be fun.

They have listened to us too much. You want that Dwarven Axe? Go beat GWEN.
You want uber-shit without working for it? Welcome to Guild Wars, the biggest QQ fest of all time.

I don't remember which thread it was, but Mr. Oofus had a comment somewhere that was beyond acute; it was absolute fact.

Trust me, ANet should listen less to its community in regards to PvE, and get the old school PvPers to be its skill balancers. Then ANet would have a great 2nd game.

Eh? Why should they ingore PvE players, and make a commitee of PvPers to design PvP?

Keep in mind, Guild Wars is designed for casual players in PvE. With all the title grinding, it's good that some rare items have become less rare. This is not about an elite few having the "coolest" items, it's about everyone having fun and getting cool things!

You don't need a degree in design to know what you want in a game. Anet's community relations have been piss poor and have been a major factor in why GW is dying.

I'd be surprised if the GW servers stayed live after GW2 is released. I think the best case scenario is probably to let us download a patch that allows those who want to, to play GW offline.

Well, considering that Anet has said that GW servers will stay live after GW2 is released, I'd say the best case scenario is probably that GW servers will stay live after GW2 is released.

People who like Guild Wars better hope GW2 will do well, because that will be the only thing that keeps the original Guild Wars going (GW2 will basically pay for support of GW).

Yes, you grasped my point exactly. While the "committee of thousands" has actually succeeded in creating something pretty amazing, at the same time we're confronted with several alternative desktop environments (KDE, Gnome, XFC, etc. (and now adjuncts to those - Beryl and Compiz)) - that would be the "mess" factor vis a vis taking a similar approach to game developement.

They should have PvPers design PvP because PvEers don't know jack squat about PvP, and think stuff like SF at 17000 damage a hit is a good thing.

"Cool" stuff isn't cool once every has it. That's why dead swords, exalted aegis's, and scar eaters suck.

Cool stuff is really cool when only a few have it. That's why BMWs are cool. You think a toyota corolla is cool?

Off topic I know, but the scar eater is about the best healing monk green out there still, assuming you use greens to actually play the game.

hmmmmm this goes well PvP'er going beserk.
I'll make it quick why do Pvp'ers think the world turns around them.
There where days you had to share the world with us now you got your own little place where you can scream as hard as you want now we don't hear you anymore thats fine.
And i don't care iff al players have the same stuff.
But you just one off those people who sizes everything to weath and status.
Now it time to burst your bubble get a life

Don't split hairs with me.

When I said "few have it", you knew that I meant rare/difficult to acquire/etc.

Don't BS around.

Who cares about the cools stuff and that is not what this topic is about anyway .You think that PvPer know more about PvE to design skills to keep both parts balanced I don't think they even have clue.PvPers have no idea what goes on in PvEland they don't do the same things.Don't foreget that 75 or 80% of the playerbase is PvE and are subsidizing PvP.GW would not have sold to has many copies as it had if it weren't for the PvEers. Then there is $100.000.00 prize pool that PvEer help to generate on sales of the game.

Who knows if PvEer will even buy GW2 the way things have been going.
