Pay for a name change? No.
If it was to change your character's looks? Well, maybe. Most of my characters are tyrian, and there's been a lot of new faces/hair/skin tones released since. I'm just to lazy to start new characters to use them though. So a chance to update my looks? I pay for that.

I have 2 toons on same account that I have always wanted to "Switch" the names on
both have dune a lot in 2 years I would hate to just recreate from scratch
so if this option can be done I'd pay for it i guess

I think Anet has a good history of avoiding rip offs ( i trust the pvp unlocks were an honest mistake which is soon to be rectified ) so i think they'll find a good way of doing things =]

this will cause horrible problems in the scamming and bad beheviour part of the game. someone could just change their name when they get reported...
you could change your name into someone else aswell. people may start to tlak to you and you'll have no idea who they are. I'd hate to turn my name to something that ended up bein a scammers name.
The friends list and gulid roster might get a little broken..

As for scammers: well, they can make new characters anyway. As long as everyone knows the new name is part of the scammer's account, it will be no different than scammers making new characters.

To all the people who are like "You should have thought about your name longer before you made it" and such, you gotta understand that Guild Wars has been out for over 2 years and some players that have been playing for that long may have a different level of maturity than they did before.

I was lucky enough to reserve some character names during the betas, which I will never change. But 12$ just to change a char's name sounds pretty expensive. It should include changing your whole appearance....But still... I wouldnt do it.

if it were like $5 i'd gladly pay but 10 or 12 is just way too steep imo for such a small change. oh well we'll see what happens

Heck while we at ti, how about a character sex change also, form female to male or viceversa, i have a nice female ranger that i wish was a male, sice i believe that the male ranger armor and dance looking alot more cooler, i would pay a fee for that.
