Question to the devs: is there anything we do not know?
foo
This is what I wonder;
is there anything; quest, item, title, pet, that the community still doesn't know of?
I'm not asking you to tell us what it is, just if there is.
(if there isn't it would be wrong to mislead us, and if there is, it would sure be exciting to know).
I'm thinking of stuff like a purpose for that asura guy who uses the leaves as ears, or another special pet like the rainbow phoenix, that spawns in some hard-to-get conditions.
it would be cool to get an answer.

A week ago, players of Halo 3 noticed others using a certian type of armor, the Recon armor, which no one could figure out how to obtain it. The Bungie CR confirmed that the armor did indeed exist and gave vague hints. One ten thousand post thread later (yes, ten THOUSAND), and the Bungie CR admitted it was only for Bungie Employees...although some are still skeptical.
Point is, if there was something in the game that ArenaNet wanted to to access, they would never tell you.

Stupid freaking question.
Of course there is, some of us have figured some places out, such as the secret passage to what was once the Maguuma PvP Stadium.

the fact that things were discovered, does not mean that there are things that haven't been.

Developers always have secrets, and you are not going to pry them out of them with this thread or any other. They are typically secrets based around a new announcement they don't want leaking out. Usually that info is played up in a marketing scenario. This is true of ANY company, not just Anet. So yes, they have hidden info, and no you won't hear a word of it, no matter what your relationship is with the developers. Confidential information is just that, confidential.

There is a 'hot coffee' secret and tons of religious easter eggs.
I might be lying, but let's all play to find them.

with the Gwen thing wrapped up, I think all the current mysteries have been solved. Anything else is yet to be added.
I was going to say Oggy, but it appears it's just 100 Asura for giving him the red iris and that's the end of that.
I don't think there's any hidden content that could be discovered. This community is pretty fast to latch on to loose ends.

There needs to be a rock somewhere with the inscription; "There are no easter eggs here, go away."

If you haven't done it - I suggest visiting the end of the earth through the faulty gate in Aurora Glade - just keep to the left

There seem to be some mechanics questions tht teh community still hasn't figured out: especially with regards to the anti-farm code that some posters SWEAR is still in the game, just in a modified form. According to ANet, the anti-farm code was removed, but it definitely seems like there are certain ways to get better drops in an area (such as running missions between farm runs.)
As for easter eggs, the community seems to pick up on most of them pretty quickly. I don't soubt that there are quirky things that ANet has put in that nobody has quite "got" yet, but I doubt there are hidden quests or items that nobody has found yet.

However, many posters have noticed that while there is no more warning about it, remnants of the anti-farm code seem to still be in effect. Farming the same area over and over still -seems- to decrease drop rate and rarity. Switching farming areas after a few runs, or doing a few runs and then doing a mission or 2, -seems- to actually increase one's chances of getting good and frequent drops. It could still be just random. I know I don't have the patience to sit for a few hundred farming runs, patiently recording each drop. Some people can and will do this eventually. Several times, anecdotes have suggested that the anti farm code was NOT removed, or not completely removed, in direct contradiction to the official word from ANet.

Just to clarify the difference between "secret" and "easter egg":
Easter Egg: Irrelevant tidbit, usually dialogue or useless item as an inside joke from the developers.
Example: The Star Wars references in the Poghran Passage mission.
Secret: Hidden, important things.
Example: Pretty much anything regarding Red Iris Flowers.
The OP is more referring to the unfound "secrets." The difference is important!

I always thought there might be some more to this one... Then again, I always thought there was more to that broken flute that I toted around for over a year before Anet actually added GW:EN quests that gave it a use. In other words, I think the devs probably have many secret ideas, but I wouldn't put any money down that they're actually in the game at this time.

There's also Bahltek.

I remember reading on the Official GW Wiki in the discussion page of the dev who created the bunny ambush that there was a special rare spawn of that ambush that was different to the normal one.

QFT.
The different spawn for the rabbit trap is the only believable thing that was said which I might count as an unknown.

Aww, I'm sorry to disappoint. There is a very rare random spawn for that encounter that no one has found yet. It's pretty funny... - Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 21:35, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
I actually got that one...suprised no one else mentioned it yet. Instead of the Vaettirs, aggressive bunnies spawn in their place. I was definitely LMAO when that happened. --Valshia 21:44, 28 August 2007 (UTC) YAY someone did get it! I had so much fun redoing those spawns with the bunnies. Just too hilarious!! - Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 21:47, 28 August 2007 (UTC) |

What is so significant about this 'special' spawn?

Anet has fired all of its Quality-Control and beta-testing people to save money and use us players for such tasks instead.
There I said it. That's the secret.
