This is a bit late, but...
During the week that Nic was on Istan collecting skale fins, I was out killing scale with reckless abandon. Then I remembered that spot near the entrance to the first city, where all the skale spawn in that little well. Seemed like a good idea, so I went to go farm there. Unfortunately they didn't drop too many skale fins, so I made several trips out there to get the skales I needed.
On about the 3rd trip out there, last trip of the day before going to bed, I went out, circled around, and killed all the skale on the periphery, then went into the big group in the well to finish out the run, expecting maybe one fin, if any, since that's how many that group had usually yielded before.
But my luck must have been running in overdrive, I got not one, but two black dyes back to back. Now that was a very nice surprise!
And yes I do have a screenshot, I just don't want to go through the hassle of editing and posting it. Unless, of course, it's demanded. :P

I just started a new mes in pre and one of the first things she got was a black dye! (played her for a while and got 3 other dyes...and still didnt have a belt pouch to put everything in!)

The first time i've tried to use a 55 hp build with necro in FoW (know, that it doesn't work anymore) and the first drop i got was a obsidian shard.

well i know this is a bit late on posting but that week nic was collecting frostfire fangs i got myself a black dye from them and heres the best part so far within 1 week i got a req9 obsidian edge from FoW (got banned the day after so i couldnt use it 
) then this saturday doing Slavers balanced with my guild i got a req11 VS so im set for now!

Not entirely sure why i was so happy with it, mostlikely because i dont see them drop very often (i have 4 now), but seeing it just dropped on me, a monsterous vang during a zaishen mission HM ... fairly cool as i totally hadnt seen rare mats drop for me for quite some time

I got 55 black dyes from 55 devourers in pre today. I got no screenshot because i tried and take one but my computer suddenly crashed XD
Jk lol. I haven't played GW for almost a month now and I've got like 15 black dyes in the last 4 years XD
However the last time I played a dungeon I got a r11 clockwork scythe from Oolas endchest. Got me pretty hyped because I've played all dungeons several times and most on HM too but only ever got a mantis polymock piece before from an endchest XD I kept the poly, but sold the scythe for 50 k. I know it's cheap (at least was a month ago) but I cba to stand around for trade
Lately been bored with GW though so am taking a short break just as not to make it a second job lol.

Yesterday morning I logged in and did a few 2 man UW smite runs with an alliance member. He was on his perma and I was SS. It was lots of fun and brought back memories of the old days when I would SS/55 for hours and hours. You could certainly tell that I haven't been to the UW lately since mostly all the ectos dropped for me! Of course we split the ectos 50/50. What we didn't split was the Gold Stormbow q10 15^50 that I got from one of the mobs!
Later on in the day I joined an alliance group for a FoWsc. I scored again with a Gold Chaos Axe q10 +5e +20% longer enchants! =D
These are the best couple of drops I've had in a while.

My best drop is an old school gold req 8 15^50 Summit Axe. It has since been modded to 20/20 and +30, as the original mods did suck.
