EDIT: Here are some builds for people who don't have a warrior/ele/monk/dervish at this mission in Tyria. All of these builds at 1 time or another have been posted somewhere but I'm trying to bring them all together so they can be seen in one place. The mesmer one is untested by me because I lack a slot for a PvE mesmer, but would love to hear if it works, looking at the enchantment durations and the degen facing you the Necro/Mesmer builds should provide an extra 3 pips of regen while at the max degen from the undead in the area.

You will only have 1 pip of energy regen so a Zealous Bowstring would be extremely helpful. When starting this run grab Oink(by clicking on him) and run to the location behind the house and start shooting the Hellhound, Oink should run down and attack the hellhound in doing so he will most likely trigger the grasping ghouls, if not you will trigger them when you run down later. If done correctly oink should body block and cause the undead to focus on him, and him being invincible you could stay at this all day(provided you are attacking something otherwise i believe he looses interest). If any spawn behind Oink or get past him use Vigorous Spirit, then Lightning Reflexes then Whirling then Lightning again when it recharges... If you do not get aggro HB/VS will not be necesarry to cast just spam Barrage. A Zealous Bow of Enchanting with 15% while enchanting would be superb for this build. After saying all this ranger is probably one of the slower farms because they dont have any major AoE skills other than barrage but if this is your only PvE character at GoK you have the ability to farm!

hmmmm i may have to try this instead of the run out side of bergan hot springs, tho i think i'll do it in hardmode for the gold drops too..^^
23 Oct 2007 at 09:17 - 3
Hard Mode takes a while, the rangers die quick , but the melee take a while because of scatter
23 Oct 2007 at 09:19 - 4
When HM first came out I did that run hundereds of times, but not for emblems. I would take it a little further though and continue around the bend there and not stop until I got back to the boss that's across the gorge near where you start. Basically travelling in a big "U" shape. Got some pretty sweet dead bows and sephis axes from the run too. It's just too bad the prices on them spiraled into the toilet 'cuz every man and his dog was doing that run.
23 Oct 2007 at 09:22 - 5
i dont know, but isnt smiting faster?
holy damage will do double damage
55 monk?
23 Oct 2007 at 09:27 - 6
@Jade For normal drops this run sucks now, but it's still a good spot for emblems
@Ayame Ftw: Smiting is a bit faster, but the run to get there takes a bit longer, 55hp smiter is maybe 10-20 sec faster, but I think 55hp is a bit less fun, and it kills my drops

has every halloween event has used decayed orr emblems? Is it possible there might be a different item to collect this year?

That's a secret,
Only intelligent people can ask me something (Dumbasses don't understand how to get my IGN )
And yes it is possible Orr emblems won't be collected this year, but so far every Tyrian event collected Emblems
23 Oct 2007 at 11:02 - 10
Has there been an announcement or confirmation that there will be a Halloween event this year?
Last year for Halloween and Wintersday, I just farmed Termite Legs and those things the Plant guys drop for my holiday items. I just ran around with a ranger with run skills and one shot or two shot killed the monsters I needed to.
23 Oct 2007 at 11:12 - 11
Well, I am not forcing you to farm this way, I am just telling everyone what's my best spot , this spot works for me.
Yet it isn't confirmed there will be a Halloween event, but I think there will be.
But there is a Halloween Art Contest, so probably there will be an event

I know, but I am not stopping the talk with my guildies to make you stop thinking I am "a(n) ignorant asshole"
Just make your own guide or don't use mine if you don't like it.
Off-Topic: I always love it when people say things like that in such a nice way
23 Oct 2007 at 11:31 - 14
I think Stealth's reply is rather harsh. Anyways if I find myself farming for holiday items and get bored, I may try this one out too.

you can do this very easy with triple chop, cyclone axe and a heal too hehe.
might wanna shrink the pictures a bit btw, i'm sitting on a big screen monitor here and i find them a bit too big. try thumbnails

Thx for the tip, in my next guide I will use thumbnails.
Can you give me the template code fo the Triple chop cyclone axe build? Then I'll put it in the first post

How many of these emblems do we need? I farm bergen all the time and I have merched at least 2000 of these

The more you have the more things you can trade them for. On a side note the collectors also take charr carvings and gargoyle skulls (singed?). The best place I've found for charr carvings is The Great Northern Wall mission. Just run back at the end and charge the charr, if you do it right, you can bottleneck all of them, cast meteor shower (or whatever AoE) and they all die. As for the skulls I would go back to the old faithful, oustide Nolani Academy. There's a boatload of them out there.
23 Oct 2007 at 19:18 - 21
Nolani ftw.
Also I have had some really good luck with hot springs about 40 per run.
23 Oct 2007 at 20:06 - 22
Nice guide, but this warrior build I think is rather slow, I suggest running something to the tune of:
Axe Mastery: 12+3+1
Healing: 8
Strength: 8+1
Smiting: 2
Triple Chop{E}
Cyclone Axe
Whirling Attack
Bonetti's Defense
Sprint
Enraging Charge or Vigorous Spirit(if LV isn't keeping you alive)
Judge's Insight

With this you should be doing high 80s+ cause of their low AL seeing as they are between level 11-16 and you are dealing holy damage, AND the hellhounds use frenzy alot . I haven't done this run in awhile but I believe this is the fastest run out there cause you don't stop for knockdown(SoJ) and you deal Holy damage that they don't run from.
23 Oct 2007 at 21:25 - 23
i do the run with the same build (with vigorous sprit...it helps any possible screw-ups) and u can get it done within 5 mins if u get the aggro right. The only problem is they all die pretty much at the same time, which reduces some of the drops.
23 Oct 2007 at 22:27 - 24
i don't see the pics
23 Oct 2007 at 23:23 - 25
The pics were removed due to size problems. They may or may not be put back up.
But anyway, these are nice builds. I had a Mist Form ele build for this at one point, but I lost it.
24 Oct 2007 at 00:10 - 26
A plain Nuker build does this whole Mission plus the bonus.
Attunement, AoR, BoC, Immolate, MS, Rotgorts, Firestorm and Phoenix is what I use. Kills everything fast. Just make sure that most of the time you stand behind the rock walls to avoid the ranger poison.
Hell, been doing this since I GOT to Kryta over 2 years ago. LOL

EDIT: Pictures are working again, Dervish build added, will test W/Mo build.
EDIT 2: W/Mo tested and Added (Harder to play then w/rt , isn't faster
24 Oct 2007 at 19:29 - 30
This works in hard mode with a hero bonder.
[skill]Conviction[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Eremite's Attack[/skill][skill]Mystic Sweep[/skill][skill]Whirling Attack[/skill][skill]Mystic Vigor[/skill][skill]Eternal Aura[/skill][skill]Avatar of Melandru[/skill]
Just make sure you kill the Skeleton Mesmers before you spawn too many Grasping Ghouls; otherwise you get killed by Fragility.
A safer run is to loop around instead of going directly to the house, and taking out the ranged mob before you spawn the mob behind Oink's house. Takes longer but you also get to kill a necro boss on the way and hope for an elite tome.
24 Oct 2007 at 19:48 - 31
Agreed. The W/Mo is definitely harder to use, and doesn't seem to be faster. Not to mention it has a bit of a problem with degen.
24 Oct 2007 at 19:57 - 32

This is a ridiculously easy run in HM with my 55 monk. Ran it twice this morning. Didn't get any golds, but a few norm tomes did drop. I'm going to be running it a few dozen more times after I get out of work. Bergen has paid me well in the past few days(100k+). I think this could pay better as there are larger groups of mobs, and no monks(from what I saw).
24 Oct 2007 at 20:39 - 34
Problem is, with mobs this size, there is a lot of scatter. Not to mention the Grasping Ghouls spam ViM, so if you don't remove your conditions at the right points...
