the last Halloween celebrations started on October the 23rd.

Today is Oct. 23rd, but no mention of it yet.

Is there going to be a celebration?

Actually it was a Monday....the event started on a Monday and ended on Halloween the 31st

Well Halloween is a week from tomorrow (Wednesday). Didn't the celebration last year last like 5 days? Maybe they plan on doing it Friday through Wednesday?

My gut instinct tells me it'll start this weekend and last thru Halloween. My gut's been wrong many, many times though.

Ah, ok, didn't remember. I was on vacation I only got back in time to get the hat, lol.

So say 8 days.....If next Wednesday is Halloween.....8 days before would be....tomorrow. Wednesday to Wednesday celebration possibly?

Event Summary FOR 2006

October 23rd
Event begins: Towns are decorated, and collectors appear in towns of Tyria and Elona.

October 31st
Mad King Thorn's Arrival: Beginning at Noon (PST for American players, GMT for European) and every three hours afterwards, the Mad King appears in Lion's Arch and Kamadan for the finale of Halloween. After appearing in town, the Mad King delivers a introductory monologue which was then followed by several interactive games - Rock, Paper, Scissors and Simon Says- which if won or played correctly rewarded players with a randon Halloween item. Failure to play, or loosing at Rock, Paper, Scissors resulted in the temporary death of players who were eventually revived by the Mad King to continue playing. The Mad King then proceeds to tell jokes to the players who are expected to laugh at them. At the end of the Mad King's appearance players are given an event hat.

November 2nd
Event ends: Towns have their decorations removed, collectors leave towns.

We should be seeing something for the event relatively soon. I thought it had mentioned previously although I don't recall where or when. My memory kind of bites like that, but I'm sure they plan on doing <i>something</i>.

I'm hoping the Halloween event is why we don't get a weekend event. I'm still waiting for double SS/LB points, and Halloween is the only good reason that they aren't giving it to us. I really hope its not going to be a clone of last year, though. On a side note, the 23rd just started only six and a half hours ago prior to my post.

How about a full costume? That would be rather cool, or how about different armor parts. Instead of the usual armor sets, we get a special halloween armor. Ooh thats very nice indeed

lol oh man don't mention armor parts. I'm still laughing at the people having fits because Dwarven armor isn't a 'set.' It's armor 'parts' that can be worn as a set if you so choose. Although Halloween armor pieces would be neat to mix and match into your normal armor.

I think a Halloween dungeon would be pretty cool. They've already got a fun Christmas-y dungeon. They could do some sort of fun haunted cave dungeon or something. Keep it easy like the Jack Frost dungeon, though, so people can go through it several times and enjoy the scenery.

Just... no more armor. Armor is boring, and there are plenty of armors to choose from already.

If they were to make a full costume, they'd probably make it like the two full holiday costumes we already have, the candy corn and elf tonics. Much simpler and won't take up five slots in your storage.

Hmmm, mystery drop. Probably just another PvE only effect, but hopefully something cooler.
