I'm not sure if this is a suggestion, but I wanna play as a Male sylvari, I mean there would be no reason not too, and every other race as both genders..
Anyway, i also feel that ever race should be able to play all proffessions. I see no real reason an Asura couldn't be a warrior or a norn an ele.
Example : in FFXI, theres a race much like that asura called the tarutaru, they like all other races can be anything, warrior included. Anyway, the reasoning behind it is that the tarutaru wants to challenge him/herself. Tarutarus are the best at magic the 1st race to use and etc but they can still be anything.
This reasoning can be used for Asura as well, the asura wants to challenge him/herself by taking the harder route and chooses to be a warrior. An asura thats already very intellegent thats also a good warrior? im sure their ego would like it lol

Nay of the Ether
I think making us start with new characters is a good idea. fresh starts are always good, but I do also think the returns for utilizing the HoM needs to be better than what they are saying. I think we need something more personal to reflect all our hard backbreaking work on our current characters. Other than that it seems they have good ideas for GW2 for the most part. Since we don't have all the details set ins tone only time will tell, but I for one am looking forward to it

Better Guild Hall upgrades!
Add several tiers of upgrades to the guild halls, allowing an upgrade to be upgraded. Best example would be to look at GW1 since we don't know details of GW2 yet:
Skill Trainer: Tier1=Core skills, Tier2=Skills from next chapter/expansion, etc.
Weaponsmith: Tier1=Customizations, Tier2=Common Weaponcrafter, Tier3=Better skins etc.
Tier1 should be in line with GW1, not too cheap but still affordable for everyone. That way every guild can have the basic upgrades. Tier2+ is for elder guilds to bring more life into your old halls. Maybe some upgrades are unlocked by age of guild, and not by gold.
Should also add more life to the halls in form of NPCs who live in your hall. For example farmers in a Pre-Searing like hall, or non hostile undeads in a necromancer-themed hall.
Repeatable quests that takes place in your hall, like Charrs invading your guild hall and your guildies must come and defend it (optional, players are never forced too). If any loot/experience, then it should be insignificant not to drop more than low level areas ingame. Add a special Loot Box only leaders/officers could access, items in this box will then be picked and dropped in form of rare loot from the invading foes.
