character creation name filter
Hyper.nl
If there is a filter players will just sneak around it. Human intelligence wins it from the computer here.

At the end of the day the person making up the name has to take as much responsibility if they get banned. As we alll know when we create a character that some where some one will take offence to it. In this world of Political Correctness gone mad.

i ask me, why can't everyone just simple active for 5 minutes their brains, just to think of a fantasy name, that sounds somehow like a real fantasy name ...
why have people ever to create suhc dumb braindead names, which include insults, vulgarism of any sort, or simple only letters like:
X Blahblah X
imo, people, who cant think for a good soundign fantasy name in a fantasy game, imp play not the right game.
There exist in the Inet tons of different Name Create Maschines, even such ,which create for you names based on special themes, like "middleage" ,"elven names", "dwarven names" and so on
Just use such name creators on the Inet, until they split something for you out, what you like and finish ...
better, as when people destroy the community image with silly childish names full of insults, vulgarism and stupidity
Only good, that we can report now people for their stupid names, which destroy the flair of the game to enforce such people, to just think for 5 minutes for a good fitting name. I think giving your chracter a fitting fantasy name is not expected too much for the sake of the game flair, which is wished by Anet

I can't speak for people who come up with bland, boring or stupid names (hey, can't throw the first stone with an in-game name like mine), but at least they're names. It is silly to see characters running around with names like "A Cool Sin," which is at best a description and not really a name, but heck, occasionally they can be entertaining. Come on, who could forget "Omg Laser Pew Pew."
It's true, there is a bit of a double standard when it comes to sex and violence, but it is a sliderule of morality and a.net has set its general guidelines and trying to dance close to the edge may earn you a slap on the wrist. But on the issue of having a game where you are killing things, I don't think you could even remotely make a connection between this and, say, God of War. You're not hacking limbs off enemies with blood and entrails spilling everywhere. At most the enemies you fight are dying in a manner not much worse than crushing your enemies to death in Super Mario Bros.
Dicecube: If you're truly concerned that you may end up earning an additional six or so 72 hour suspensions for your character names, why don't you try contacting a.net about your situation. Tell them you made a mistake with your character names and rather than risking earning another round of bans (or possibly being mistaken for a repeat offender and earning an even longer one) you would like the opportunity to correct your errors.
