Prophecies: 3-4 weeks - i was more experienced, things were quite simple actually until the hard last 3 missions came
Factions: 2-3 months - i was doing all the kaineng city quests and doing a lot of other things instead of missions, it was my first campaign
i think factions has way harder missions compared to prophecies

Took me, honestly, two years for Prophecies. I was starting (and deleting) a lot of characters. I took a long break as well. When I came back to Guild Wars, Factions came out. So I started that campaign. That took three months because I got stuck on a part, just like I got stuck on Prophecies. I started PvP then, mixed with a break. Eventually I got Nightfall. I haven't beaten that yet and I doubt I will.

Basically, it takes me a while to complete campaigns because I tend to take (long) breaks and get bored with PvE at times.

Prophecies - Took about 7-8 months I think. Primarily because I kept switching on and off between playing warrior, monk, ranger an necro.

Factions - About 6 weeks maybe. Only took ritualist through campaign. Didn't care for assassin and already had core professions.

Nightfall - Got it two months ago and only playing paragon so far and just got to realm of torment.

I play a lot, but I tend to play at a slow pace and try to do every quest I come across at least for 1st time characters. It utterly baffles me how some first time players can beat any campaign (let alone Prophecies) in just a few weeks. I can only assume they sit at home in a soggy heap of their own sweat and excrement because they've been playing for 600 straight hours and don't know the meaning of taking a break.

Prophecies - yawn, better things to do. 5 months here and there to finish it.

I can't help but to agree with you entirely on this. I've been wondering how people can get through the game so fast for a long time.

I kind of rushed Nightfall because I found the story too good to deter me from doing side quests! I did eventually go back and do the majority of quests though.

You, sir, are a fool.

We should list our time taken in hours rather than days/weeks/months, so he has a better idea about the time taken.

Nightfall - 10 hours.
Factions - 15 hours.
Prophecies - 25 hours.

This is including time spent hanging around in towns, merching, etc. Actual mission time:

Nightfall - 5 hours
Factions - 8 hours
Prophecies - 15 hours.

Rampage builds. I rarely stop to heal/recover and always try to smash through the enemies as quickly as possible. Lots of healing/protting power, lots of nuke damage, lots of minion meat shields, etc. E-management is geared towards constant casting rather than recovering afterwards, healing builds that can keep the team alive over a long duration (well, they'll need reworking after the monk skill changes once I get back to PvE; perhaps Xandra and Razah will be replacing Tahlkora and Ogden), minion master for, of course, the meat shields and extra damage, me as an SS Ritualist, etc. Tanks are not used, nor are bippers or trappers or spirit spammers or anything else that slows down the team.

Proph - 2 years, but then I was in no hurry. I don't know how long it'd take to play straight as I have no real interest in hauling another character through that incredibly long campaign.

Factions - 3 days (~15 hours?), but it was a straight push.

Nightfall - About a week. Again, a straight push through.

GWEN - 2 months. The "main plot" isn't really the bulk of the content, so I didn't see any sense in rushing that end of things. I freaking love these areas, so I just hang around, do side quests (unlike Factions, where they're torturous), and enjoy. I've still got about half the dungeons to do and then I'm going to make a run at the main plot in HM (haven't bothered to do that with any campaign before, but then no other campaign really rewards it like GWEN does).

With Lady Raenef...Prophecies, probably...3 or 4 months. Then I beat Factions in 2 months, due to I beat it with a different character before, which didn't take long, when Factions came out. So, I didn't feel like doing it again. Nightfall, I know it took two months, since the campaign BORED THE HELL OUT OF ME.

So, all in all, a long time. Do I suck at PvE? No, not really. GW just has bad storylines. Eye of the North took four days, since on day one of Eye of the North's official release, I farmed vanguard points, getting rank 5 vanguard on day 1.

These are all based on my first complete run through with my first character to beat the campaign.

Prophicies: 8 months to a year
Factions: about 6 months
Nightfall: about 8 months
GW:EN: Just beat it about 3 hours ago (so about 3 months)

I played slow, did a lot of side quests, helped out guildies and went through with PUGs. Each mission took about a week or two to complete.

hm lets see....got prophecies in august, rolled 4 characters....3 of them were up to LA before halloween, I ran my mesmer to dorks for wintersday.....

so for them it was about 6 months.

factions came out in March, had computer problems and made a new computer in June...finished late July (made some more characters and one completed factions in under 1 month).

Nightfall has been out a whole year now, of the 15 characters I have 5 have completed it (2 are close). I know the first one completed it before DoA came out so that was like 5 weeks????

so
chapter 1 6 months
chapter 2 3 months
chapter 3 5 weeks
eye.....got railroaded by the armor and have yet to desire to finish it though 2 of my characters are to the last 3 quests (finished the norn/ebon/asuran arcs).
