Here's a thought - don't nerf fire eles, buff some of the other attribute lines so they are more effective and get more play.

Say for example Fire Magic was incredibly overpowered (which it isn't really, but there are some nifty spells and builds that are pretty lolwutawesome). Now, we buff Water Magic to make people consider taking it. That doesn't fix the problem of Fire Magic raping everything in sight, and it adds the problem of Water Magic also raping everything in sight.
For PvE, that's not a problem, but for PvP, it opens up a whole new can of imbalanced Junundu.

Also, if you were to say, bring earth's damage up to the level of fire, that would be a terrible idea since you could blow things up AND use stoneflesh/stone striker and take just about zero damage from everything.

Earth should stay defensive.

I've tried it and it wasn't consumables.
EDIT:
oh yeah! first it appeared grey, and I couldn't cast animate, but a couple of minutes later it turned colorful again, and I could!

What Pet Was it by the way? I Only saw it on Wolf (forgot if was from gwen or common one and white moa)
EDIT: in tombs right now with a group trying to prove this. Ganni

*gets kicked from party*
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! I was joking!
Regarding Fire Eles, their capability as damage dealers is already questionable in PvE, even more so in PvP. Buff Air to have some more use than being a blindbot, it sucks the most of the many elemental lines at the moment. Water has utility, which is rarely needed in PvE. I always think of Moddok Crevice and freezing two runners, but that was it...

Atm, I think Anet has just about got the fire line right. I still think there is room to buff the other skill lines though....
CHunterX
(Most of) Water Magic skills have too high of a recharge to warrant anything outside of using it as simply snares instead of damage dealing. (Most of) Air magic has too high of a cost for single-target spells to warrant anything outside of spiking and blinding. Earth Magic is fine. Fire Magic is fine.

I like how they continually change things that are wrong in Prophecies, but have been wrong for 29+ months. Well, probably 4+ years if you think about it. Why change them now....

Why change the fat white mantle's model when the could fix armor?

They need to get their priorities right, as I don't recall seeing many "fix Dorian" threads compared to the amount of ones relating to Player's Armour Glitches.

Someone should make a "Plz revert Dorian" thread.
Gonzo
Yeah, ANet fixed something! they shouldn't do that unless it's the thing I'm annoyed by.

Nobody said they shouldn't fix it, your clever sarcasm there really fails pretty bad.
Fixing graphical errors is more important than fixing graphical errors on a rarely seen NPC, unless you actually believe that thousands of people care about the Dorian graphic bug.
Just because something should have a higher priority doesn't mean that the lower priority things shouldn't be done.

Most of the graphical errors on player chars would require a massive reconstruction of the models and the mechanics of how they are manipulated, changing one npc is a far smaller task.
Chances are changes to Dorian were actually not made on purpose but rather new models were made for the bonus pack and simply replaced the old models giving it the apperance of an update.

Glitched player Armour however is something they will see and should be higher up on the "things to be fixed scale"

Okay, did a search and couldn't find anything... but has anyone else noticed how Herta and Cynn are grunting like there's no tomorrow since the update? I feel like I've got two paragons instead of two eles in the hench lineup.
I even redid the Snowman dungeon three times cutting out the female hench one by one to find out who it was.... >.<
