Just thought I'd post this. I decided to see if killed foes one by one got more drops, so I went out with my usual build, but only used VwK for damage, it took ages to kill them but after killing them all (24) I got 13 drops, suing Ancestors Rage as well I was getting 1 - 5 drops a run. But it really did take ages with just VwK so its not really viable, just thought I'd say that you get about 2-3x the amount of drops if you kill them one at a time. Then again maybe I was just lucky that run, maybe its just me.

~A Leprechaun~ This has been known for months.. Thing is, you dont get extra goldies or other items affected by lootscaling. Just the whites, so it isnt really worth your time.

i don't know i got a lockpick and a gold when killing them slow (sux doing it that way though) and usually just grapes doing it normally. I think you do lose some drops of all types with the AOE drop robbery code.

this is a decent run, made some money today. I'll have to scratch my head a bit to see if there's a way to deal with the boss, it seems a shame to miss that whole group.

I sometimes get 5 golds from killing them fast, I sometimes get 1 saurean bone for killing them fast. It's just luck.

As far as the bug you guys are talking about, Ive said it before it DOES NOT exist like you guys think it does.
What happens is since LS is here it just snags on the first part of the loot table the selection of who gets it. Instead of distrubituting it evenly it insteads counts who ever gets the loot multiple times not really reducing the drops. but since you are in high party areas your chance to recieve the drop is already really low.

got my ele. sword yesterday req.11 after a week farming .... and loots of the other golds too .. ( loots of perfects mods , 30 hp sword axe and shield )
After of a little of "overfarm2 the area i get 1/2 golds in every 4 runs .

There are multiple groups in the cave. If you mass aggro them, they will run away when they take to much aoe damage if you dont kill them fast enough. That skill bar isnt dealing enough damage to kill them fast enough to avoid the scatter. I maybe wrong, an I'm big enough to admit when I am. I'll build that specific skill bar tonight and test the time it takes.

If you took a little more time to look at the screen shot, you will see that he has killed 24 foes, which is exactly the number of raptors you can kill in that cave excluding the boss and his group.

It says in the top left how many enemies have been killed.
If you read the OP it says you don't take on the boss' group, the enemies do not scatter when grouped so there is a wall on their left.

^^ In NM you wont have this problem...Ive been having the same problem in HM, seems no matter what I force them into, they scatter...

If you're having trouble grouping them propperly I suggest watching the video, allign them up so a wall is on their left hand side (doesn't really matter what wall, some places wont work 'cause they're an awkward shape) don't do it by a rock or around a corner. Let them attack you and walk back a couple of steps.
They shouldn't run away now.

if you look at my screenshots, you can pull them all there and they will stay bunched up. They might stop swinging at you, but if u manually toggle between raptors and attack them , they will start attacking you again.

i keep messing up the run, out of about 20 attempts, i have completed it about 3, i keep mistiming my skills leaving me open for about 3 seconds worth of unprotected via bonettis or vwk.... slowly getting the hang of it though.
nm is a piece of cake though !

yea same here, I wen't from 30000 to 52000 asura points(= over 500 runs) and I only got one req 13 Ele Sword.
While a frriend of mine got 4 in the sama amount of runs, and another friend got a req9 2hrs after I told him about this farm.

I got 2 req 12's the first day, but this run seems to massively dry out fast. Who knows how it works with anet's drop system from hell... if you just want money you're better getting ectos or cores or something stable, although you can fill up on chump change from this like any HM farm

wow some people are luckier than others........i've done several hundred runs and NADA ele swords. I don't even want to sell it, I just want one for myself then I'll stop the farm run. Gotta say it's virtually impossible to sell r9 great conch shields. This is actually a pretty good mod farm though.

I noticed some people seem to have problems farming them, here are some tips to compare to your method. Maybe you have a better method.
My build A/E:
SF, Death's Charge, Glyph of +2 ele power, Sliver Armor, Intensity, Radiation Field, Air of Superiority, Dark Escape
Immediately upon entry, I hit dark escape. Race to shrine, take blessing, race down hill. Now, I'm facing the entrance to the cave, and dark blessing wears off. I watch the left most group of raptors, they patrol in a small "triangle". Usually, they are still moving away from the cave entrance. The moment they start to head back towards the entrance, I hit SF, and run towards them to aggro. I then run back towards Broodmother, and death's charge her as soon as I am in range. I immediately hit Glyph, Sliver, Intensity, Air, and then try to staff hit the broodmother so that she won't run when she's targetted. If there is time, I hit the Radiation Field also. By now, either she's dead, or I am. If she dies - IMMEDIATELY recast SF. Sometimes SF will reset from Air of Superiority, so it won't matter as much. I then continue to maintain/monitor Sliver Armor, and pick up drops. Usually, you'll end up with around 25-30 raptor nestling kills + boss kill. If you die, it doubles the length of the run, but no big deal, just run back down, hit SF, and run in and pick up drops/gather a mob and do the sliver skill chain ending with air of superiority.
I've farmed 300 skill points so far using this technique. 5 Ele swords (q10,10,12,12,13). Probably around 30 broodmother claws, 30 gold FoW/UW scrolls, 10 elite tomes, 100 normal tomes, and tons of other golds (hammer, daggers, swords, shields, bows).
Lately, drop quality has plummeted. Probably I've overfarmed it. I don't know.

You all have more patience than I, I only ever did around 50 runs got at least 20 golds out of it total, a dozen sin tomes, and several lockpicks, so imo a great farm but still too boring. Ele swords arnt even worth it anymore, can buy a 11-13req incribable for 10k now ~_~ if all you want is the look. Then just add the mods you want.

I've been farming this for a while, and I too have never had an Ele sword drop for me.
However, I did get a req 9 Saurian Scythe from a chest the other day. I was a happy farmer

if you all got an ele sword from it, it wouldnt be a rare drop then, lol. but i know how it goes, i farmed for a colossal sword back in the day and never got one, but im glad, better skins have been coming out.
