I remember some guy asking me to go with him to a place where he could make items double but unfortuantely for him I had been reading about the scams a few hours earlier so told him exactly what i thought.

and hahahaha at silvero or w/e that guys name was in the troll thread. he ended up pwning himself i think.

just happened today actually


since I have a monk going for survivor, I ask for a 'guardian' to help me with a few quests.

so we go into Sunspears in Kryta quest, and finish it. right before we finish the last rift, i pay him the 250g. when i'm accepting the quest, he tells me that I never paid him, and owes him another 250g. I say no, and say look/scroll back up... calls me a noob, and leaves

Wow. Someone said selling r7 eternal blade 50k. When I go to trade him he put up a forgotten sword. I think he wins the "most pathetic" part.

someone told me he could dupe my chaos axe a long time ago.
So we went outside and he revived me with [skill]unyielding aura[/skill] and told me to drop it. I just dropped a flute from pre and told him to dupe that first. Funny part was when he tried to convince me that only chaos axes have a special code and can be duped that way ^^. (and he even failed at the aura 2 times)

selling ink instead of black dye and the old gold insted of platinum trick happened often to me as well

o scammed someone.. but i feel bad.. and it was an accedent

so i was trying to buy staff mods in HzH saying "WTB staff mods 5k for 2" and i got someone that put in an adepot and a fortitude staff mods he accepted when i put in only 5 gold

he kept on whispering me to pay him.. but he wouldnt tell me where he was

Can someone explain me the runescape thing? I know it's a (imo, crappy) mmo, but why are there so many people willing to sell them in gw? xD

People try to sell them to get extra money in guild wars to make profit off of possesions in a game that they will no longer be using.

Though, having tried it myself, I reccomend not to, as you will never be able to trust the other person to actually make the trade in both games after accepting in the other. Unless he is willing to give you the items/gold first, in which case you can have a nice smooth trade.

My situation went down a while back when I pm'ed a person in Droknor's Forge looking to buy old Runescape stuff that I was willing to sell a particularly rare item for the sum of 100k. So, we logged on to both games, and it came down to who had to accept first. He kept bugging me to accept, that I could trust him, while mentioning that he had a very laggy PC. (Convenient, huh? By the way, a lot of people trading will just log out of both games if you trade first.) So, I told him since that was a risk I wasn't willing to take, and I had a reliable system, I told him to trade me first, and he refused. At that point, I told him he could just go attempt to scam someone else, and please waste no more of my time.

After a snowball fight, a teammate clicked to trade and saisd, "Money plz it's Xmas"

I couldn't resist, I have to post this. It seems very common but for sure that scammer has never been in wiki or guru... I was selling a Tormented Sword and he asked me to go outside, just for fun i'll went with him, then



I didn't report him, since I dont have any lost, he gave me entertainment instead

ok hers my best. I was tired of hearing ppl needing help to get bigger storage. so I advertised carpenter expanding storage for 20k & 250 wood planks. then I just waited soon I was pm'ed so much I had to log off for a week. didnt take any thing from any one . was just bored& wanted a laugh.

I know abt the Unyielding aura scam, but there's nothing on screen there, just 2 wars staring at each other (with winter???)

maybe he's got the ebon vanguard teleport skill?

Winter possibly because one of them has the first Festival Quest.
I couldn't really see anything obvious either.

The most pathedic scamming attempt I have seen is probably the one where a character takes off their armor and says their friend gave them the account and deleted the armor and that they have no weapons.

The best scamming attempt I have seen is a gold switch from lest say 55k to 55g in under a second. Good thing ANET added the "This trade has been modified" feature.

I have encountered many even more pathetic scams but I just wanted to post this since this is newest.

funny enough, last christmas i got nightfall, and it came with 2 access keys, no joke, so after finding out i couldnt use multiple keys on the same account (trying to get extra character slots) i sold it to my guild leader for 30k
