Would you ever go to a Guild Wars-con?
lyra_song
Well I mean Anet has shown up in conventions, but theres not an explicit Guild Wars con.
So i guess the question is....would you ever go to one if they held one?
edit:
Where would you ideally like it to happen?
What kind of events do you expect/want?
What kind of prizes/loot/schwag do you expect/want?
What kind of merchandise do you expect want?
Would there be a band or a DJ? If so who?
Would there be cosplay?
Would you cosplay!?
Would you tell people who you were in game? :O

Steboy93
I highly doubt I would.
Issac
Nah, I wouldn't go.
Fluffiliscious
Depends on where it is. If it's somewhere that's ~2 hours to drive from my city then sure. I don't think I would make a long trip or anything to go, though.
mazey vorstagg
Depends, if it were in London. I'd be there no second thought
onerabbit
if it was close to where i love id prob go...
but then again i hardly go out anyway :P so i prob end up staying playing gw instead lol

Heck yes, but I wouldn't tell anyone who I was.
BLOODGOAT
BIMONSCIFICON
And no.
And no.
cosyfiep
no, why bother they have nothing to give out but more minipets.
Olim Chill
It would have to be ridiculously convenient...like on-the way-home-from-the-office convenient. Then, maybe...
Taurucis
I've never heard of anything fun in the region where I live, so I'd love to go but unfortunately, due to my idiotic mother, I don't think I'd be able to.
You can't see me
Meh, I'd go if I was free that day. That'd be funny to show up in a Monk Hoodie.
Rathcail
Well if it'd be very close to where I live and Gaile would be there throwing a conga, then I'd consider going.
Bankai
No.

there really wouldnt be much of a reason to have the convention, i mean everything that happens we already know about, conventions are usually held to show off new things or hold large scale tournaments.
But they really cant give much away aside from mini pets (in game) and t-shirts/skill pins (out of game)
Each year ive gone to pax ive gone to their booth and hung out for a while, i even placed 3rd the first year they had the tournament but that was a whole different idea.

Even so, I wouldn't say my name
I suppose if it came to my hometown (St.Louis) I would go.
Jumping Is Uselss
I'd go to Guild Wars-con if it didnt require me to take a plane or more than 4 hour drive.

No. GW is simply too narrow of a reason to go to a con. I once went to a con that centered around the works of Joss Whedon(creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and Firefly) and it worked because it focused on all his work rather than one show. Maybe an ANet con would be better or maybe an MMO con.
Tyla
nope - i wouldnt go to another country over a guildwars-con
1 up and 2 down
How about a NcSoft-con?
Dr Strangelove
I wouldn't go, just because then I'd have to hang out with the type of people who'd go to a Guild Wars con.
I MP I
I wouldn't go to something like this. No chance in hell.
KiyaKoreena
Would like to go but anything more than 45 minute drive is a no-go for us now.
Would be great if we could get any/all the merchandise people have suggested before in all the other threads. Plushies, posters, (mini)pets and coffee cups top my list.
If its a convention there would definetly end up being cosplay. Would I wear my costume to it? No, I do not have that much confidence. Husband might wear his though and mini-Gwen still tries sneaking hers on.

While it might be kind of fun but if they only held it in one location, expecting world+dog to show up, it probably would be sparsely attended and not too successful. So they'd need to have a series of events in different locales over a couple of months. That would get expensive.
I'd rather see them use the money to buy more servers.

I would go if it were within 2 or 3 hours driving range, or train range.
Like Pittsburgh, or Phillie (maybe, heh. Heard a lot of bad things about Phillie these days...)
MAYBE New York if I had the money to stay more then a day. But that would be a really big maybe. If I were Anet, I would so totally do a Pittsburgh thing. (That was a pretty obvious Hint, by the way. Remember: Pittsburgh. It's totally cool.)

If I could talk to izzy... maybe gaile....
Get gaile to slap me....take probably a good half a nano second.

i'd rather roll over and die in a nerdy grave than go to a con.

Going to one would entail leaving guildwars, getting off the computer, attempting the outside world.. and that's just to get there.. uhhh... my poor characters would miss being played in that time

Would you ever go to one if they held one?
If it was within distance, and my parents would allow me, of course! I put over 2,000 hours into the game, why not have a chance to meet the creators of the game I enjoy? I mean, I'd like to play a match in Alliance Battles with a GM on my team just for fun.
Where would you ideally like it to happen?
Well, I live about four hours away from the most likely place for it to happen. But, probably there. I'd like it to be in my town, but I doubt they'd get a lot of people there if they did.
What kind of events do you expect/want?
Some more hidden facts about Guild Wars 2, what some of the ideas that are coming ahead. A spoiler on the story for GW2. If there are, some updates that may come in the future for Guild Wars. Tons of computers for people to have fun fighting each other with premade characters. Or, characters that like the GM's characters. Be a GM for a pvp match!
What kind of prizes/loot/schwag do you expect/want?
Special golds/greens, minipets, perhaps a title like "I Saw ANet In Person"
What kind of merchandise do you expect want?
Shirts, pencils, the average. I would like to see replica's of weapons, or characters for sale too. Also, having food from the game be served would be cool.
Would there be a band or a DJ? If so who?
Definitely a DJ, but you know, seeing Jeremy Soule's group play the actual music from the game would be incredible.
Would there be cosplay?
I'd be one of many dressed like an assassin or warrior.
Would you cosplay!?
I just said I would!
Would you tell people who you were in game?
Probably.

i would go if it is in california.

Heck yeah I'd go. Whatever the circumstances, GW was a great time for a long time (and AB's still are great). Might not be a bad idea to preview GW2 prior to some E3 thing.
pumpkin pie
I went to the launching of Nightfall where I am ... and pre-order the pack it was fun.
If the convention happens to be just around the corner, I would definitely go. But I know the chances of that happening is probably 2%

I would go just to see if anyone recognized me when I show up wearing a fake moustache and glasses!
