Why aren't there more vanquishing groups?

Vanquishing is easier done with hench & hero because it can take so long. While I was vanquishing I'd often take a break mid way through, and that sort of thing is awkward with other players.

Sure some of the more difficult zones, I'd do with guildies, but there is no way I'd take a random pug.

Vanquishing is more of a H/H or guild/friends group sport, because it requires time, adjusting to the specific area u want to vanquish, and that's something u won't get from most PUGS.

I too think its more fun with other people along.

The problem is, when I vanquish:
  • I also want to map.
  • I want to go slow and explore all the areas. I don't want to be in a hurry.
  • I like to take breaks if its a long vanquish.

Most people are in a hurry and don't have the patience for that. Therefore I use H/H.

I seriously read "Why aren't there more vanishing groups?"

I think it's because they do it in guild/alliance groups. When they see people saying "LFG for vanquishing" they will assume "Uh oh, it's a PuG..." and run.

My alliance does HM a little, but they vanquish zones with H/H most of the time.

Well besides the obvious rise of difficulty, there aren't a whole lot of vanquishing groups because of what's already been said: It takes awhile and is boring. I've only been able to vanquish 36 areas now and it just got boring. Now what I do is I make a build, go against a couples groups, and then map back satisfied that my build was able to work against them.

The reason there aren't many vanquish groups is probably because it's one of the longest, hardest titles and not many people can be arsed doing it. the people that do want to often use h/h because they want to take their time and map as well.

My guild does a vanquishing run every night or so, but we know each other, and are competent players.

Vanquishing takes a while, especially with places like Talus Chute and most players are depressingly enough, just not up to snuff.

It takes an exeptional PUG to beat H/H and a godly one to beat 2 guys and there heroes, which about makes up the reaon people will guild the hard ones and HH the easier ones.

When you're playing it's work where you repeatedly load your party full of henchmen and go from instance to instance killing AI-controlled critters. It sure is no wonder people are getting bored with the "game"!

Dictionary.com:
3. a competitive activity involving skill, chance, or endurance on the part of two or more persons who play according to a set of rules, usually for their own amusement or for that of spectators.
You skipped two definitions, how about the FIRST one:

Dictionary.com:
1. an amusement or pastime

but i suppose that doesn't fit your preconceptions, so it's not to be bothered with.

Other people are not required for an activity to be "an amusing pastime" for most of us. Not everyone is you. Not everyone has your taste in games, nor your preferences about how they should be played. Quite a lot of people find playing by themselves or with a friend or two to be diverting, amusing, and relaxing (the very definition of a good game) while PUGing is obnoxious, frustrating work. There's a simple solution for everyone to be happy, though: play the way you want. I hate PUGing, so rather than trying to remove the ability to group with more than two or three people from the game, I simply don't PUG. You don't like playing single player, so rather than trying to remove the option to play the game with AI how about you just don't play with AI!

pugging while vanquishing = almost certain fail. For the multitude of reasons already listed.

Like other, I generally either H&H it, or bring along a friend or two. I'm 14 Elonian zones away from Legendary Vanquisher, and the only time I've seriously needed a good solid (alliance) group was some of the Tyrian ones, where you go on 2-3 zone runs since there aren't that many outposts, and I did that before EotN and no consumables.

I vanquish with h/h. Not because I want to, but because I can't be bothered to hang around an outpost trying to scrape together a half decent PUG that won't get pwnd by the first group of Jotun we run into. I'd much rather play with people, but getting a group together is such a hassle.

I reckon finding groups for vanquishing would be so much easier with a global party search feature. I can't see that happening though. Your best bet is probably guildies. Or good old Jora and the gang.

Funny, every time I've gone out vanquishing with a PUG, we've never failed, haven't even come close to failing. Granted, I've only done it a few times, so far.

QFT

Its completely possible for both groups to play how they want.
Trying to kill 1 off will not help the game. It will just cause a lot of players who purchased it for that reason to quit.

I started Vanquishing Elona with my main character. I find it easier to do it h/h:
-You do it in your own time (I can go to the toilet)
-No need to wait to form a party
-You do what you want, when you want
-I can scrape the map in my own time
-I lag :P

But I do sometimes do it with Alliance members but usually no-one is up for it. Whilst it's faster (maybe) to do it with real players, its more of an inconvenience. I'll stick to my anti-social self

i actually got my legendary vanquisher title with friends and h/h. i answered/posted ads in the group section here and was able to work with other palyers who were also vanquishing. we would discuss the areas we were going to vanquish and get it done. i found the other team members quite resonable when it came to requests for mapping or just needing a 5/10 minute break (especially the lornors/snake dance/dreadnought area- done at once).
i did cantha almost all h/h and used sab's build for the necros and they owned. for those still needing areas, hit me up and if i can help i will, have fun

Vanqing is fun with my guild because they make it fun, as they are fun people. Vanqing with a pug or with heroes/hench is pretty amazingly boring though.

Vanquishing is long and tedious and a total grind. Plus there is no/little motivation to redo an area you already beat... the gold at the end is a pittance.

It can take hours to vanquish an area. So, if you are vanquishing with another player... and that other player needs a break, your stuck waiting for him, making a long trip even longer.

Much better to do it with henchies, as finding groups for that form of grind is opressive.
